Had mine five months also, and love it. I thought the parking feature was a gimmick until I came back to my car one day and found somebody had parked so close it was really tight to get in. So I moved the car out remotely. That was impressive! This car has such a lot of features. I hope they add power-folding mirrors next time, but if you're looking for a road trip car, this one is so comfortable. The seats are superb.
Since the Palisade has been out for a few years now, I wonder if you can get an aftermarket power folding mechanism for the side mirrors? Otherwise, a great SUV for the money !!!
I bought one of the first if not the first 2020 Palisade Limited in CA and it was a beast. I have since move to Vegas and I was going to purchase the Genisis GV80 until I saw the Palisade Calligraphy. I never experienced any issues with first Palisade, so I purchased a 2024 Palisade Calligraphy and I love it way to go Hyundai.
There's a cool cargo cover in the trunks hidden space you can use to keep your belongings hidden with the 3rd row folded. Also, check out the airplane foldable head rest . You can control the rear seats from the front infotainment as well.
This is what I’m eyeing. Same model and colors. Our son is in a handicapped stroller that takes up so much room that it can only fit in our pilot with one third row seat down. That limits us to only 5 passengers. We are thinking we might need the bench second row to get one more person in when we’re taking him with us. I assume the calligraphy only has captain second row chairs. Is that correct?
Just ordered our 2023 Palisade Calligraphy in white with black leather, can't wait until it comes in. We are trading our 2015 SanteFe Ultimate Limited. Was also a great SUV which gave us zero issues with 72,000 miles on it. Love the Hyundai reliability and warranty 👍 great review I just subscribed!
I wish! My 2015 tucson has had nothing but issues. Now granted I bought it second hand so maybe the first owners sucked. But my catalytic converter and spark plugs had to be replaced at 71k miles and now something else is making a sound in it at 80k miles 😭😭😭😭. But I’m getting this palisade calligraphy in the emerald green color they have. I can’t wait 💚🥺
We had a 2013 Santa Fe. We bought a Honda pilot in 2018 and I miss my Hyundai. I’m looking at getting the calligraphy in the next couple of years. Honda is overrated.
a couple things we love about our 2020 Hyundai palisade limited are the auto brights, apple carplay, and android auto we use both, heated seats and the cooled seats, blue line, and the all-wheel drive system. we love our palisade and planning on keeping it until we can get the big brother the GV80.
GV80 ain't bigger than Palisade nor more luxurious if talking about Palisade Calligraphy How's your Palisade holding up? No driver dashboard issue? No windshield crack? No runroof explosion ? No loss of touch control during call? No excessive oil consumption Please let me know how the quality goes since I've been looking to get one Thank you sir!
@@jpthsd we have had only 1 thing wrong and it was the lift gate stud broke. Took them 1 hour to fix it and now our family is getting smaller we are thinking about a 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe And I didn’t mean like big as in size they are siblings Kia is the sister and gv80 is the brother
I went with the Limited trim, I did not like the inside roof and the wheels on the Calligraphy model! I also changed out the license plate bulbs and the backup bulbs to LED which makes a world of difference!! I also purchased a wireless adapter to change the wired into wireless! Actually, I am watching your video while sitting at Sonic in my Palisade!!
No other car brand can beat Hyundai/Kia VALUE, what you get for your hard earned $ is top notch. I wish I could afford this Palisade, for now I'm still stuck with my 2015 Sienna. Great video.
5:05 These are the little things that the Asian car manufactures totally get right. Wireless charging is almost useless as everyone has phone covers. Glad you raised this. Great overall summary brother. Cheers from Down Unda
Great video! I just bought a 2024 Black on cream interior. Its top of the line like yours and I love it! It amazing how much you get for the money! I was thinking about an X5 but I decided to save 30k and went with the Palisade. The only complaint I have that I bet you've noticed too is the ambient lighting dims down significantly when you put the vehicle in gear and start driving. It looks great when you're in park. Anyway, thanks for posting the video. I'm going to check out the cube set up in the cluster.
I saw a RU-vid video on this palisade engine and from what I saw ...it got me thinking because I wanted to get one so I am looking for all information to know more about this vehicle. So the information I saw in and from this you tube is that the engine was old school and from the rest of the video, I am now hesitant to purchase this palisade. So I will wait till next year, by then more information should be available.
How are the headlights? That’s one of my favorite things on my current car. The headlights are amazing. Super clear, bright but not angled in a way that it bothers other drivers. Excellent night time driving. Would definitely be something I miss if I can’t find another vehicle as good.
nice review. one thing i find funny. i'm old enough to remember when cars came with rubber flooring, and you bought carpet mats to put over them. now they come with carpeting and you buy rubber mats to put over them. crazy world.
DUDEEEEEEEEEE I was looking at this thumbnail like damn thats a nice car. I'll watch the vid lol. Then I see Piedmont Pkwy and Guilford College on your GPS. I am on those roads almost every day. Will definitely subscribe to you.
I have the 2024 Palisade Calligraphy in Steel Gray and Beige interior and absolutely love this car but what the Palisade Calligraphy is lacking: wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto, power tilt and telescoping steering wheel- it is manual, automatic door locks when you walk away, power folding mirrors, motion activated rear lift gate - has automatic proximity instead but I don’t like that as it can lift when you don’t want it to. What it has that others don’t and are really nice: massaging drivers seat, heated and ventilated 2nd row, heated 3rd row, power down and up 3rd row, seat change on sport mode or high speed driving- side bolsters squeeze in and seat bottom also adjusts, acoustic laminated glass all around. For the cost it is great, hope the reliability is good and have no problems with warranty support as I have heard may be a problem. The finance person highly recommended the additional warranty company as he stated it would be great to have in case Hyundai refuses a warranty claim for some reason and I have since read that is common with Hyundai, time will tell.
I bought the extended warranty that includes wheel damage but so far after 1 year and 7 months not one issue...I imagine that if there were to be a major issue it'll occur after 5 years. But this isn't my first Hyundai and my other car has 58k miles and is 10 years old. Never have I had an issue. Just maintenance, brakes, oil new tires is all
Thanks for the well informed video and you are the first to show the cubes on the drivers display and I never knew the hyundai palisade calligraphy that in the menu 👍
Hello, we found your review very helpful! Just wanted to know if you bought the Ceramic Coating add on from Hyundai? What are your thoughts on it if you did?
Two weeks ago, I just purchased my 2023 Hyundai Palisade AWD/ Calligraphy at MSRP. I previously owned 3 Kia Tellurides but I loved the Palisade a little better. But not having power folding side mirrors is unacceptable for price of this SUV.
Just picked up my SEL Pallisade with Premium Package… I would have got the Calligraphy but it only comes with 2nd row Captain Chairs which I have no use for and needed the bench seat. (More for my dogs, groceries and stuff 😁) With the Premium package you don’t lose much but the second sky window in back and a couple of unimportant things to me so …. all said I Love It. Thanks for the infotainment features … I’m still new to it !!
Such a great informative video - I’ve been looking for on but I on,y want white with beige/many trim- does it say would u like to have a coffee break when you go over the lines? Rented an Elantra in NC I REALLY LIKED THE DASH FEATURES
If your phone won't charge in the wireless charger you probably just need a new case, most phone cases now allow for wireless charging. I've never had a vehicle or case that I had to remove it to get wireless charging before.
It's either a metal case or has metal attached to it to use with that magnetic mount. The metal prevents all wireless charging. That's why. Unless you have an iPhone with MagSafe that's pretty much always an issue. With android auto now though, especially if you get wireless auto, you don't need a magnetic mount anymore
Yeah, it could just be too thick. I have such a case that the charging pad sees the phone, starts, then stops. Put a thinner case on it (with less protection) and it will charge fine. (Pixel 7 Pro)
Fyi the suspension does not change in any mode. The only adaptive part of the suspension is mechanical load leveling in the rear. In sport The steering feel stiffens and the engine hangs in gear longer to keep the power in the top of the band.
I love the new look of the pilot and the MDX is even better but if you need room for 5 or 6 the MDX is a no go . The Pilot is fine but you won't get the features and luxury of the Palisade. Remember this is the flagship model for Hyundai. It has every thing AND massaging seats.
Yes on the L.E.D.s no on the power folding 😢 (which actually bugs me since this is the flagship and my lower end Azera does it) and no on Wireless Carplay. It's wired
@@Shoesforshoob My mom's got neck and back pain so that would be perfect for her yeah it's great that it turns on automatically between those intervals Definitely makes long commutes way more enjoyable to arrive at your destination refreshed
@@Shoesforshoob Make sure you use top tier detergent gasoline from Shell Exxon Costco and Texaco Also if you use the smart mode you should see you better gas mileage up to like 32 mph
So the telluride is more spot and palisade is more luxury.. these are some amazing suv people be sleeping on kia, hyundai and genesis.. we are trying too decide between telluride, palisade. Gv70 but gv70 doesn't have 3rd row and gv80 out of budget slightly.. but we absolutely love the genesis gunna be a hard decision either way they are all great vehicles we shall be happy whichever we choose.. Does the palisade have pretty good power for how heavy and big it is?
@@cryptonator1988 The Genesis is more $ than the Palisade or The Telluride. Who wouldn’t like the Genesis? They are gorgeous vehicles. But again more $! As far the power on the Palisade, it was plenty!!
Go with the Palisade! Great vehicle. Even has a back massager that turns on after 1/2 an hour. You will have to play with the controls a little. They are located at the side of the drivers seat. Couldn’t find any help in the booklet. You will figure it out
This. More cargo space and far superior safety and tech! Warranty covers any engine concerns which there have been none. There's a video from Hyundai when this was announced last April that's really worth the watch.
@@Shoesforshoob absolutely love it. I almost have 10k miles on it. I drive a lot lol. I do my oil changes every 5,000 miles for safety and security. Not one issue so far and easily the BEST suv i’ve ever owned!
Beautiful interior and exterior colors that you chose! Seems like so many of the interior colors available are the black option which is way too hot for our climate. Fantastic review! Thanks for sharing.
My 2023 palisade has loud cabin noise (i.e road noise). about 70 to 71 db at 65 - 75 mph (calibrated phone Sound Meter app on A weighting). Is very annoying to me. will try undercoat to provide some sound deadening.
I did not, the dealer had a standard mark up of 1,500 that included their maintenance, service package. I know its a but of a rip off but compared to some of the ridiculous markups out there I was not upset
Nice video. How is the safety system? Have you tried the system in rain or snow? Since you a family, how much trunk space do you have behind the 3rd row seat? I have a 2021 subaru ascent 8 seat passenger and I'm looking at the palisade calligraphy or the telluride or the new pilot or the new Mazda cx90. Any concerns you've had since you had the car? Any mechanical problems? How is the warranty or service after sale? I hear dealers put a lot of markup on this car. Is it true? What was your experience? I know a lot of questions but I really like this vehicle. How is the maintenance ?ok I stop here. Thanks again for this video and for answering my questions
Can't do all that Z. But....This. More cargo space and far superior safety and tech! Warranty covers any engine concerns which there have been none. There's a video from Hyundai when this was announced last April that's really worth the watch.
And this is my 4th Hyundai. Never any more than maintenance and a head lamp bulb or 2. (Albeit they were leased ) . However my daily is a 14 Azera and it's a really nice car. No issues
Really the only feature missing but its LOADED. I've driven the Acura MDX, Audi.Q7. Atlas. Cherokee L and more and this has the best acceleration, features and comfort by far. It feels solid and just loves to be driven. Still so happy
I'm not paying hyundai same or more than the cost of 2024 Toyota grand highlander that's for sure. Kia same as hyundai have the same body style as the Ford explorer the only thing is different is the head / tail lights 👍
Has anyone else noticed that the second row is noticeably louder on the highway than the driver row? My wife was driving once and I sat in the second row and noticed wind and road noise were quite louder in the second and third row seathing. That is something that should've been addressed better and properly. So when you are test driving this car you'll notice how quiet it is, but when you move back, none of the improvements they made for noise, carry over to the other two rows.
Yes , my new 2023 Telluride does the same thing. I noticed that last week when I rode in the second row. Also, it seems that it does not ride as smooth back there?
Never heard that before. I've watched tons of videos before it's USA release and they went with thicker glass throughout for the first time to address the issue from previous models. Go figure
I’m thinking on getting this one, but I’m about to pass. Just really worry about the engine (old engine, which has issues), transmission, insulation on the back side, and the plastic they used to hold motor oil, when should have been aluminum. Is only a matter of when it would leak, so we shall see been considering this, because I may have to purchase the extended warranty to address these issues.
The car has been around since the end of 2019. Have you heard of reports of these issues? Some of them have well over 100k miles. I know some RU-vid mechanics want to mention these "potential issues," but how about real-world use? I haven't seen any complaints about the oil pan or engine problems yet. It's not a Toyota or a Honda, but it'll suffice until I'm ready to buy a new car in 5 or 6 years. When I reach that age where I'll never buy another car again, I might consider a Japanese brand.
@@WeatherHappens appreciate the response. Plenty of post online. However what did it for me, was my own mechanic, who has been a friend for a long time. I have a Santa Fe, and was thinking of upgrading it to Palisade. However he said no, unless I buy the extended warranty because as he stated is not a matter of “if” is a matter of “when”. I trust his judgement. However, I’m glad you are happy with your purchase, and i wanted to get one, but is not for me, for the long term. Much success!
@@doc8732 the car care nut who’s a major Toyota fan gave the car a lot of praises but also pointed out a lot about that too the undercarriage having low quality weld and the plastic oil housing. We have almost 15,000 miles and not a issue but are considering a 4 runner as that’s made in Japan as the palisade is made in Korea and I only trust cars made in Japan and Korea over other places
@@doc8732 I mean he has a right to feel that way the car care nut dug deeper into the workings of the palisade things I didn’t know of but also he didn’t notice how it’s Atkinson cycle and Otto which does help with cleaning the gdi engine which is more recent cause Hyundais did not have that until now
