( www.alltfl.com/) Check out our new spot to find ALL our content, from news to videos and our podcasts! The Hyundai Santa Fe is a solid choice in the midsize crossover market, but this top-end, luxurious Calligraphy model costs asks a serious premium over the more affordable versions - and runs up against its luxury counterpart, the Genesis GV70. Is the Calligraphy trim really worth the cash for what is, at its core, a "mainstream" crossover? Nathan takes a closer look in this review!

My wife is picker hers up as we speak. She drove a ton of cars (we're usually Honda/Toyota people) but when she drove the Santa Fe she fell in love. Happy Anniversary! Here's to another 24 years (and more!)

This car is amazing. We owned a 2023 Santa Fe Calligraphy, has all the bells and whistles, great power, good handling, good comfort, but, one night, a drunk driver hit us head on at 66MPH, I am lucky to be alive. I walked away with just a little bruise and a sprained wrist. We are looking to upgrade to a 2024 X5, but will recommend this Santa Fe to anyone.

I have this exact model. Year, color, everything. It’s awesome. I’ve had it for 6 months now. The 2.5T is quicker than I was expecting. One thing I not see eye to eye with Nathan is his criticism of the acceleration off the line. You’re not drag racing a Santa Fe. It’s not a corvette or dodge demon. I’ll take the calligraphy Santa Fe over a base line GV60 in a second.

We’ve driven our 2022 FWD Santa Fe Calligraphy for nearly 20k miles and have had zero issues. The bells and whistles included in this trim make this car feel like it’s in a different class. The power is impressive, especially in sport mode. I have to be careful not to chirp the tires when in sport. My wife prefers to drive it in the comfort mode. We run snow tires during the winter months here in Utah and we have no regrets about skipping AWD, plus we have a spare tire as it’s the FWD model. The stereo is great, the panoramic roof is awesome, and the cargo space behind the 2nd row is huge. The adaptive cruise works way better than the adaptive cruise in our Nissan and the Santa Fe’s interior is impressively quiet; I believe the calligraphy model comes with upgraded glass in the front windows for better sound insulation. The only thing I don’t care for are the lower profile 20” tires, but for a few months out of the year I enjoy the comfort of the winter tires on a set of inexpensive aftermarket 17’s; though my wife much prefers the looks of the OEM 20’s. This is our first Hyundai, we are usually Honda or Nissan buyers. We may look at trading for the ‘25 Santa Fe after they work out the inevitable first model year bugs.

With two adults, two dogs, and a roof rack we can fit a lot of camping gear in there. The Falkens are great in Colorado's winters.

I love my 22 Calligraphy Stormy Sea Blue with the tan leather and man does it pop! Traded a 2019 Santa Fe Ultimate 2.0 and got a great trade in price and paid MSRP for the Calligraphy. Absolutely no regrets. I love it. The passing power is ridiculous and the tech works great. Heat and AC are powerful. Only thing missing is the wireless Android Auto/ Car Play. I simply run a very short cable from the charger and turn my phone backwards in the wireless charger so no wire hanging. Would I buy it again?? In a second. Also Hyundai did two recalls on my DCT and the second one was a reprogram / bleeding of the system and the jerky 2nd to 1st shift is gone. I came from driving a standard and drive the DCT like a standard and it really just rips off the shifts.

@gabevillarreal96
@gabevillarreal96 Год назад
You should be, it's 2 Flippin months! It's not the first 2 months you need to worry about with a Hyundai or kia, it's the long hall. Time and mileage will get you even if you are good with your maintenance. They simply don't hold up over time. And if you are someone who keeps cars well over 100k.... this is the wrong brand. The Toyota with cheap plastic and a 4500$ higher price is worth every penny of long haul reliability is your thing!

@@gabevillarreal96stuck in pre 2016 I see. Got a 2017 Elantra, driven it over 250k miles now. Let me tell you not a single noise complaint, nothing falling apart. Get out of the “Toyota and Honda are the only reliable brand” hole. That’s ancient thinking when compared to modern vehicles.
@gabevillarreal96
@gabevillarreal96 Год назад
@@tylergarcia7002 It's thinking based on everyone I know who owns a Hyundai kia product. Haaa! You are acting like pre 2016 is 20 or 30 years ago. My 2015 Accord V5 Couoe has been flawless for 8 years. My sister's 2015 (same year) Hyundai sonata was a nightmare to own! As soon as it hit 100k it was 500 here 1200 there 600 here 2000 there. Got rid of it and got her into a camry and she couldn't be happier. My thinking on the matter is not ancient. But Toyota and Honda reliability dependability and durability DO GO BACK FOR AT LEAST 7 DECADES AND WHILE HYUNDAI HAS IMPROVED OVER THE YEARS, THEIR RESALE VALUE WHEN COMPARED TO COMPETING HONDA AND TOYOTA MODELS REFLECTS THAT THE INDUSTRY AND GENERAL PUBLIC HAVE THE RIGHT IDEA ABOUT WHAT WILL LAST AND WHAT WONT. ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE. Abd although their warranties look good, they simple don't honor them consistently. I am a Toyota Lexus Honda guy based on my personal experiences abd my friends and family as well as ALL THE REAL DATA THATS OUT THERE. Not jd power and not initial quality studies which mean nothing. I'm talking real long term data! Look it up.

@@gabevillarreal96After test driving a Highlander XLS my fear is that it’s longevity means I would be stuck driving that bore of a vehicle for years. I couldn’t wait to finish my 10 minute test drive and get out of there. Seriously, I was shocked at how “boaty” it felt. Sluggish response and still “Toyota noisy” which is what turned me off to the brand about ten years ago. I drove a 2023 Santa Fe Limited later the same afternoon and the difference was night and day. Hyundai is a whole level above Toyota, as far as the driver experience is concerned.
@gabevillarreal96
@gabevillarreal96 11 месяцев назад
@@dparis2172 I totally respect your opinion. Remember just because they are built to last forever doesn't mean you can't trade it in down the road and get an amazing return on your depreciating asset. But you should always buy what you love and if hyundai works for you and you have had good experience with them, then by all means buy it. I'd probably get rid of it though right before the 100k warranty runs out just to be safe. I've had my Honda Accord EX-L V6 Coupe for 8 years abd I only have 94k miles on it. I've had zero problems in that time and I do my own maintenance DILLIGENTLY AND RELIGIOUSLY! To ne that is key to avoiding most problems as well as not frivong it like you stole it every day. Best of luck with your Sabta Fe. They are beautiful looking vehicles inside and out!

The Koreans have done exactly wha the Japanese did in the 70s-90s sell you cheap and reliable cars and then you get suckered with hefty prices based on presumed quality and reliability mind you the same as any other modern day car manufacturers but the fix is already set and so the mugs go back again and again claiming loyalty while paying over the top prices. It's an MO that has worked on the average American driver ever since they didtched home brands like Ford GM Chrysler and others. This was in Europe where I originate but now you go to any mailand European country and you would find the gig is up their and the folks are more inclined to buy home brands so the sautration of Japanese and Korean cars is less obvious there. Renault, Peugeot, Citroen, Ford, churn out equally good cars and in some cases more luxurious interior which most folks have at their disposal to make better choices.
@scooby-tm8yk
@scooby-tm8yk Год назад
in america, the perspective is quite different. japanese and korean brands are polar opposites in terms of reliability. no one knows anything about renault, peugot, or citroen. all we know about european cars to avoid tata jaguar land rover and stellantis at all costs.
