Hello @autocar India Could you please share your opinion in terms of which car to go for between verna 1.5 sx at petrol vs virtus 1.0 topline at petrol??
Slavia is the most aggressive looking of the lot. Virtus is classy and timeless. I don't hate the design of the Verna. Its distinctive and stands out very well. I can understand why some people might not like it.
Virtus is like the old design, is not refreshing so calling it a design may not be fair. Its sutle and boring and will be like this for yrs to come but it does not excite as well. So I would forget virtus easily any day. However Slavia or Verna have some character and that's what one wants to notice and remember. So design wise, these two cars are definitely much better.
@@techcloud2510a contemporary and futur sickk design like Verma's will drastically change every four to five years depending on ' trending futur fantasy ' so it's actually such designs are the ones which will be forgotten. For most people who just wants a car for point a to b , such designs and philosophy would do, even if I would consider a car only for five years, I would never take a design fitting for five years only. Timeless designs are called timeless for a reason. They( might ) not win all Beauty contest always, but nobody will say they are ugly or strange. ever. They have predictable, simple therefore ' can't go wrong ' designs. While people will give disgusted look to a ' futur sick ' car of today, ten years into actual future. Meaning they will be brutally and wildly forgotten in reality.
@netke6177 Nasha? Safe means drive within limits, say 60km-70km per hour according to our road condition .. definitely safer than maruti ,kia , hyundai
@@netke6177accident at 60kmph and there is a chance of fatal injury to the occupants, then it is definitely not a safe car and that too in real world there are so many variables which can make the experience even worse. There are expressways with 120kmph speedlimit and government is thinking to increase it 140kmph for some new one's.
I just got delivery of my Slavia 1l Style. Best decision I've ever made. The car is absolutely amazing. And trust me, when u are driving your car, you won't be using all the features of the car at the same time, so don't think too much about the features. If u wanna enjoy a good drive, go for Slavia or virtus.
I am a happy slavia owner, and believe me, after driving one, there is no way you are going to like another. Performance is unmatched, and what it succeeds from its rivals is the way you feel connected to the car, like the car knows you😊
@@bleedblue420as No, it feels comfortable, not too light and nor too tight, just feels premium. It is a tilt & telescopic steering that can easily hold a comfortable position.
Good buy a crossover sir, sedan lovers are here for low ground clearance ‼️‼️the car never scrapes and we're use to such kind of driving ,try to catch us on highway though 😄
City should've been included.. My personal pick is Virtus for unmatched driving feel, design and solid build and safety. Anyway, whoever wins the comparison, Sedan over an SUV anyday 👍 These brands are proving that the love for sedans in Indian customers still exists!
Verna any given day for better network, brand reliability, linear power, refreshing looks. Saw in last week on the road and it looks amazing than virtus. Features I am not a big fan of but ADAS is definitely good to have.
What about the stability virtus offers you…if you’re choosing 160 hp verna then surely you are going to drive it aggressively…so main character is missing in hyundai…and everybody knows about the build quality so just change the topic!!
@@rushikeshg25 bhai typical indian mentality nahi badlegi uski…maruti aur hyundai kharidne ki…unki cars pehle achi thi abhi nahi….virtus is way better than verna!!
I like Virtus but hates the way it looks.. I mean it is designed well and nice but it has a terrible road presence.. it looks too narrow from especially from behind and feels like a smaller car kinda like a 6-7 lac “sedan”.. Slavia has a meatier presence despite similar dimensions
I like Slavia but the reliability on that thing is a bit on the downside. So, my pick will be Verna. I'll take care of that Drl by tinting it. Sadly, can't do anything abt that steering wheel. And a custom suspension would do better.
@@mandardesai3841 It seems like you're Hyundai CEO and you recently finalised the prices of Verna N-Line. And I think you also are a CEO Global NCAP because you know the star rating of an untested product. Amazing feat brother.
Yes of course average design cars look great in black colour 😂 but a well designed car with bold Character and good design fluedity looks great in lighter shades also.
Autocar+Nikhil and nice camera work always treat to watch!! Interms of look Verna anyday interms of build quality and driveability VW any day specially in India
Slavia is more involving to drive than Verna because Bernard steering wheel doesn't offer much feel and feedback. The power is crazy on but Slavia is just amazing
@@devilnoob1616 ohh is it??? then go and check the designs of latest GTI, Cybertruck, Hummer Ev, Rivian etc. every one is chapri tru your wicked mind. wake up kid, update yourself and see the world
@@sunnywoahgearbox is the best, believe me i own a dsg slavia, and also its upon your use case how long the dsg will last, and baaki, i can agree on ac part though but other than that its better than the competition
@@stebinmolshoy4298 yes car brands which cannot sell their cars as expected always tend to make the service cost higher to survive the market. The same strategy is followed by honda india
Hyundai just waited for the VW group to set a good benchmark and just gave the Verna a little bit more of everything than the other two. Really hoping that Skoda drops a Monte Carlo with more power and sporty styling
old boring design that they have copy pasted for over two decades now. ...they ran away sometime ago as they were flop brand and very expensive service....now u guys have forgotten that and want to try them again....another point, unreliable is the reason they stopped polo their cheap offering.
If you like sporty engine and need an option for manual gear box, go for Slavia or if you need DSG, go for virtus. If you like the look of Verna and don’t mind the linear power delivery, verna is almost good at all other aspects.
@@techcloud2510 The AC was not performing optimally when I first got the car, but is now pretty good after the software upgrade. And I have found the engine to be very responsive with excellent acceleration.
Hi, how is the mileage of the 1.0 AT?. We have an ecosport AT and even though it's a very fun-to-drive car, the mileage of the automatic is not that good, mostly returning 8-9kmpl in average city traffic and 6-7 in severe city traffic. We are planning to upgrade to a sedan and are very much confused if we should go with another AT(torque converter gearbox) in the slavia. In the highways we are getting around 13-14kmpl in the ecosport and once even got 17 but that was with really light throttle input.
@@gouthama3990 The mileage is about the same as you mentioned for the ecosport AT. However, mileage is not a very high priority for me, since I don't drive on a daily basis. In fact, I have just completed about 4K km in a year. For me, the performance, handling, reliability, luggage capacity and comfort of the Virtus are the factors, which influenced my buying decision. Furthermore, driving an AT in start stop city traffic is far less stressful than an MT.
For once, someones telling that a Hyundai is better than VW and Skoda on many parameters. Good job Hyundai. I would have liked a cleaner design though.
I may be in the minority but 150ps is NOT SPORTY. Its what I would call decent power for a car of this size. Manufacturers stop with the red & black, NOT EVERYONE likes it. VW has managed to ruin the interior with those stupid red accents. Proper Karol Bagh spec interior. Sporty me weight kum hota hai, so why is the most pointless "feature" of a sunroof present on these SPORTY sedan?
Hands down Slavia.... Hyundai is all features... also the design does not look like it will age well.... Virtus i guess would age well.... Slavia not too sure...Hyundai Verna does not evoke a 'OMG, I need this'. .... while a V and S, do evoke OMG .... If I can afford... I need this :) Except for the engines and the driving dynamics abd experience, S & V lack in many features .. but for someone who is buying a 150 BHP car, would look for the engine and the driving experience and not so much for the frills that Hyundai offiers...
Nice comparo. Although Honda City eHEV should have joined the parade for its not that big a compromise on performance and offers better mileage. Plus the facelift did address some of the challenges. Of the three, the Hundai's HUNCHBACK has the most confusing design and while that ADAS might save you from making mistakes but the car won't be able to cope up with others mistakes, seeing Hyundai's recent accolades in crash tests. Another thing is that driver's display isn't a true digital unit but a mashup of smaller screens disguised as big screen. Skoda/VW twins are any day more fun, safe and brilliantly built. Sadly the review wasn't able to point differences between them in terms of character, which is ever so slight but its there. Skoda is a little softer and Virtus is a little faster than the other. With Autocar I expected a little more and would have liked to see each cars stats recorded and published than being copy pasted.
True. I was thinking the same considering my Kushaq feels slightly softer than a Taigun. Virtus ECU Mapping is slightly different to Slavia, hence there is a difference in performance. I think they rished this video and just copy pasted the details and stats
Hi Akash. Engineers who worked on the cars say there are no differences so there's no reason for different feel. Also, given this, we've used the best figures for the duo. Different figures, as small as they may be and possibly down to test conditions, would be misleading.
did u mention safe? howcome ? under 64kph..but when at 10kph or above putting sudden brakes only verna will save u...yet u r blinded by german cheap cars...neither they offer value for money nor they have any good sales numbers. only for stupids.
Verna looks like Kitt from knight rider... 😂.. Slavia emulates class and aggression.. Virtus is sublime and sporty... Anyday Skoda is a better choice...
Ideally, anyone would pick up the German twins for stability, fun to drive factor, safety n performance but honestly this time Verna has given them a tough competition n won in most of the departments too Drove all 3 and trust me , practically its the Verna Turbo DCT , which you would like for everyday and overall driving 😊
grond clearance is also important.. it is 165mm for verna and 179 for VW twins.. the VM twins can replace SUV.. but verna can only be sedan at the most..
@@anuragchoudhury7207 Verna is astonishingly good at straight line stability and it’s NVH is more well contained than Virtus/Slavia at high speeds. It’s ride is far better at high speeds compared to Virtus/Slavia. Rear seats are also more spacious and comfortable coz of the longer wheelbase. I don’t see Virtus/Slavia better at any point other than probably 5start NCAP rating. 😂😂
I own 2023 Slavia 1.0L Style varient. It gives me 12 Kmpl in City and 19 Kmpl on highways. I think that is fantastic for a car who is built to perform 200 Kmph top speed. For haters : Just as a high-end wrist watch reveals your attention to detail, a premium car reflects your discerning eye for quality."
I had 2013 model Verna. Had a bad experience. The gear got locked in highways and vehicle speed started raising and I couldn't reduce the gear nor neutral. I complained to the service centre many times, they couldn't find the fault. Cause their test drive limit is 5kms. Finally sold it. Not gonna fall for the same company
Whatever it may be…These turbo petrols can’t match the fuel efficiency of a diesel engine…In a diesel we get both Punchy power( torque)and Good fuel efficiency 💪But in a turbo petrol it’s gives Good punchy power but no fuel efficiency..It drinks lot of fuel and we have to spend a lot of time in the petrol bunk 😢
Hi, I need a safe car, 5star ncap, good boot space and ground clearance, petrol. Under 16L on road. Since tata cars have capacitive touch buttons (which should be illegal) and car is very unreliable in performance and gear stuck problems, need some other brand cars. Which cars would you suggest?
slower than verna, more expensive than verna, no adas, no resale value, expensive maintainence, less mileage than verna, less features. lund mera unmatchable

The safety net of ADAS gets mentioned but disappointingly the actual safety net which is the car structure with the proven unmatched 5 star GNCAP rating is neglected and skipped off.
They did mention 5 star rating for them Just did not explain it that much compared to Adas of Verna Anyways what can they explain in relation to 5 star rating
I will go straight away with Germans. Because they look much elegant and striking, solidly built, superb stability with impressive ride and handling, and even packs all practical useful features which are good to use in everyday. Verna is just radical, not a fan of it's design, too many gimmicky features, and even not as solid as the Germans. It has ADAS but what's the point when this has a compromise on build quality done by Hyundai. Waiting for the Verna's crash test to happen.
