CONGRATULATIONS, truly an amazing feat. Would love to hear about your tire choice, wear, feel, would you use again etc. maybe mention next video? Thanks much
Amazing (first time) real insight into the "Big Dogs" of the LD world. Became a IBA member in 2003 with documented(Great lakes in 100 hrs)/undocumented (48/10 in '19)and multiple IBA 1000 mile day. Never have I felt like I was riding in the "greatest scavenger hunt and endurance ride in the world" with a fellow rider. Thank you MUCHO Dave for your time and effort to give us (posers) LD riders the first hand insight and knowledge into the ARDUOUS sport/hobby/obsession we call motorcycling. HUGE CONGRATS from SW Michigan rider IBA#12,310.
Thanks Dave. Really enjoying this from over in Aus. One thing im curious if youd be willing to share, as you're decompressing, reviewing, unpacking etc. What would you change or do different next time? Thanks mate. Tim
Great content. I think you made a good move not going to Canada, and skipping Key West. I was wondering how it felt to cross the finish line, glad you talked about that. Looking forward to you recap episode.
For iron butt motels i'll carry a cheap blue tarp and a small Walmart sleepbag. Churchs have always worked well to pull off and get a couple hours of good sleep. Find some soft grass lay the tarp next to the bike and just sleep in your gear.
I wonder if you have the same starter issue that Ben and I both had on ours; any weakness in the battery that drops the cranking amps can't engage the starter. BMW is quietly swapping them out for a slightly redesigned starter that works better.
Possible...When I got home I had to replace the battery and it has been fine since, who knows, still waiting on a drive shaft to get that upgrade..Dave
You rode smart!!! I've been to a finish to watch you guys come in. It really was cool to see the riders come in. Dave, thanks for the rally insight! Really enjoyed the pists!👍
Dave, Congrats on the accomplishment, much to be proud sir! And thank you for sharing your experience and journey, such great insight into the physical challenges and emotional demands of the Rally ...your journey & accomplishment is truly inspirational!!!
