2023 Kia Sportage // Is THIS the New KING of Compact SUV's??

As years go by, KIA/ Hyundai keep improving in every department, including their reliability. I recently purchased my wife an LX (gas model-I don’t trust EVs yet!) She’s in love with her Sportage!

One thing about Kia/Hyundai, they will not make a bland vehicle design.

I've owned one of these for the past 7 months and all I can say is this vehicle is fantastic. I have a 6 month old and 2 dogs and this SUV is more than capable. I've been a longtime ford fan and this went well over my expectations! Also the price.... Kia is absolutely killing it, I felt like I robbed them.

You guys rock! The 1st to see a review of the new 2023 Kia Sportage from a dealer! I'm in love with it. Innovation is the name with Kia! This is the trim and color I may go for. This or X-Line Pro, just to get that black out feature. I see a lot of awards for this vehicle in the future. Kia/Hyundai/Genesis never cease to amazes me with their new line-up.

I’ve watching this channel for quite awhile and you guys just get better and better. Seems like you have arrived at a perfect place where your vids are informative yet give a mild and somewhat reserved review. Too many of the other RU-vid reviews are horse power oriented and want all vehicles to be sports cars.

Wow, I think you're the first full review of this model in the US - respect! Really good job with the review.👍 BTW, I can't believe Kia would include wireless Apple Carplay & Android Auto on the lower end model, but not on the higher ones. That makes no sense to me. I mean, why even have wireless charging, if you've gotta plug in for connectivity anyway?

I have my 2023 Kia Sportage in everlasting silver. It’s bigger than my 2020 Sportage. The info center is amazing. It’s big and stylish. It’s a good looking car. It has all the bells and whistles you can imagine. Great job Kia!!!

This new Sportage model looks too big to be called "compact"; the previous model, yes, but not this one. This 2023 model should be in the medium-size category because it has grown in length and width quite a bit.

Thank goodness they got rid of the stupid and dangerous bumper mounted turn signals.

At least the rear turn signals are on the top and NOT on the bumpers.

Still nickel and diming on the sport exhaust system and LEDs. I have the same exhaust layout on my 2011 Sportage. Typical KIA/Hyundai

You addressed a question that I had and that was whether or not a self-dimming mirror with HomeLink would be available. We love this new Sportage and plan to buy the PHEV.

The Sportage used to be ugly! They did a good job with the redesign. Hyundai/Kia/Genesis are killing it lately!

Interior gets an A. The exterior gets a C-

Honest question (because I'm in the market). Do the engines in these last over time? The car looks amazing, but I'm seeing horror stories all over the internet about Kia's engines exploding or dying after 100,000 miles? My only concern with Kia's is their potential issues down the road. Anyone have experience with this?

Wow! Definitely, much better than the Tucson. And as always, Kia is ahead of its sister Hyundai when it comes to tech and equipment.

telluride and sorento is really good! This is a little over designed

God that interior is better than a BMW. When I saw the exterior I was like yuck, but I think it is worth living with that exterior for that awesome interior. As a four time Kia owner this will probably be my next car.

Far from THE KING of compact SUV's. KIA's IIHS ratings are all not that good. BMW "copy and paste" rip-off interior design lacks originality.

Worst cars ever....I have a 2012 Sportage Turbo....it's on its FOURTH engine. Luckily I had a 10 year warranty, According to AMA...KIas are the most towed vehicles on the road! Save your money and DONT but a Kia!!

YES! Of course, it is the KING of the SUV's so fast that's why our Victorian police have acquired them too... not going to be so easy to do a runner from the cops now that they have this turbo KIA... doh!

Honda and Toyotas are very reliable than KIA or Hydai....of course.

I cant get over how light cars feel these days. Only VW feels like they have weight.

I just purchased this car less than a week ago. I LOVE IT! It is such a cool looking car and the features for the price range is phenomenal. Any other car with the same features easily n could be in the 45 to 50,000 thousand dollar range. I don’t think there is a car that offers all the bells and whistles for less than 35,000 dollars. Best bang for your buck. I almost walked away from it because I wanted it in white like the video. But I decided to go with what they had in grey which also looks sharp. KIA really stepped up their game.

Yeah, you can forget about those MSRP prices. Dealers are charging sometimes 4000, 5000 and 6000 dollars over MSRP to buy one. Suggest to a dealer you'll buy at MSRP and they'll laugh you out of the dealership.

I have the 2019 KIA Sportage, I love the Sportage, but would I buy another one? Yes if there’s a big need maybe lease one more than likely.

Why would I buy a normally aspirated Sportage approaching $35000. when I could buy the Tucson with the convenience package for the same. Can anyone beat the Mazda CX 5 AWD for $30000? But the real dealbreaker now for me on the Sportgage is the american assembly. Wait till the hybrid appears and it will very likely be built in Korea just like the Tucson hybrid.

We just brought the SX Prestige this week, site unseen. Supposed to get it by the end of the month. I’m disappointed that the only interior color options for the Glacial White Pearl are red or black. Our current 2020 Sportage is Snow white pearl with tan interior, which we love. Has anyone seen the SX Prestige in the Glacial White with all black interior? Do you think there may be more interior color options down the road? We love the exterior new look, but having second thoughts if we should go through with this deal for several reasons too numerus to mention.

This is nice! I almost regret ordering the Sorento now. Is this gonna be replacing the Sorento? They have the same trim levels and especially with the hybrid and plug in options just like the Sorento. And then with the telluride I don’t see them really needing to continuing the Sorento for 2023.

Kia and Hyundai are great until you reach 120k miles. They become junk vehicles then. The recalls are ridiculous! Never again will I drive one of their vehicles!

Good information. One thing I wished was more comparisons specify. Example you say class leading rear storage then don't compare. I don't want to have to Google etc why not say Sportage is 39 and rave... Blank.i need to know I carry business supplies. Otherwise great video

potential companies to do business with, I would seriously debate doing business with Kia finance or any of their related companies. The various departments went out of their way, repeat out of their way to cause such inconvenience for me that it's nearly unspeakable. At the end of my lease I was provided options to purchase or return a vehicle but also had the option to exsend the lease up to 6 months while choosing to make a decision on a new purchase or lease. I simply wasn't ready yet. I was told I had the option to continue leasing my current vehicle for another 6 months with full coverage. The company accepted 2 months of advanced payments so I was covered at least until June 20th. I did this all Believing that I had my least extension however I've been receiving notices from a different apartment saying I was in default and needed to return the car immediately. After sorting through all the disputed information it turns out that regardless of how many people at the head of various departments told me that I was allowed to continue the least, the bylaws of the company do not allow the least to continue under the name of a deceased person. At the time of my lease it was more advantageous to have my father Under his credit than mine. My credit is great now. However because the lessor is no longer living, there is no transfer option there is purchase or return. They let me believe I was on a month to month I paid 2 months ahead I paid a full year's registration and repairs to the car , I might not have committed to doing all those things if the intention would have been to return the vehicle for a new one... I am now left with very little options That will see me right side up with a vehicle, other than buy the car. I'm in a position now where I must buy the vehicle, With the expenses already put in it's counter productive not too. But you can feel that I don't Really want to give that corporation any money. I'm almost willing to cut my nose off to spite my face just to not give them another penny however they will back end me to death with return charges so again I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. I got screwed royally and burned in the process to be dragged through the mud to have to re punish all of my father's documents to the deceased department just to be told That what I was originally told isn't true. I have no recourse.... So, KIA... what's next? My intent might be to buy the car now, but when I get around to paying for it is a whole different story.....
