Great review. I'm doing the same. 250f for moto, 250sx for everything else. I had a 21 yz250f, good bike. I can't say much bad about it other than I vacuumed my air filter before taking it off. It's easy with the airbox dropping right to the throttle body to accidentally drop a grain of sand or two down there. I got the no toil powerflow kit and would even shine a light and hooked a tube to the vacuum on the rare occasion a piece dropped down. Anyway, I appreciate the videos!
Thanks for the review. I'm thinking of getting the SX do to the $2,000 difference in price. 2nd , 3rd and 4th gears are slightly closer ratios over the XC too, which could be good in the woods. It's just that the top end will suffer... but here in Minnesota we rarely if ever have high speed straights. Or the Beta 200rr, but that's near the XC price tag. Braaap!
Hard for me to say as I haven't ridden the SX. Highland Cycles did this exact comparison if you haven't checked out his vid yet. I would do a cost comparison on the parts you would need to change. If you aren't planning to ride a lot of slow technical terrain the SX might be a good choice. Honestly, my only concern would be the transmission for the taller 1st gear for my riding but... I ride in 2nd through 4th 95% of the time.
It doesn't make sense to buy an MX bike for the woods, unless your idea of woods is very open and flowing, or you're racing woods events that have MX sections (common in my area).
Nice bike! I have a 2018 300xc, which I took the Mikuni off and put a Keihin on it. I love that bike and it’s a powerhouse but those 23’s look pretty good and they sound very strong.
I had the update to the ECU on my 300 done yesterday. The Tech said that when you plug the bike into the XC2 and it comes up blue the update is optional. If it comes up red then it is mandatory. My bike came up red when he plugged it in.
I also have a 23 250xc - love mine as well, nice to hear other great feedback. Where in FL are you? Tallahassee area has some good forest trails if you get up this way.
Hi. In this update you didn't talk about the issues you had early on. I assume you haven't had any since. As someone who is considering this bike I'd like to know if you've had continued problems with fouling the spark plug or was it something else?
Thanks for the comment. I haven't had any other issues with the bike besides that first fouled plug. I really do need to get it to the dealer for the map update as I'm still on the original map the bike came with. I think there have been two updates since then. I did a 55-hour update on this bike as well that is on my channel. Bike now has 67-hours with one race season under its belt and is still going strong. I will probably pull the head off at 80-90 hours to put a new piston in.
@@f3verMonkey Correct. Yeah, the screen does get pretty clogged so I’ve been taking it out and burning the buildup off. I only went this route because the FMF SA weren’t in stock and I needed a SA for the areas I ride. I have a video on my page of what the screen looked like.
@@JRideRR yeah I think I fill go FMF SA/silencer… I also ride some areas that req SA. Thx again!!! I love your videos. I got 2021 KTM 250 XC TPI and 2019 Husqvarna TE 300 TPI & 2022 KTM 350 XC-F. I’m a woods rider, hare scramble and occasional national enduro guy. 250 XC is my fav. Love your bike.
I went 250f for 23 after be a 2 stroke guy forever and all the positive things being said makes me feel like I may have made the wrong choice and might need to switch back next year. 😭
@@DannyDifalco I haven’t had any traction issues with it so far but it’s also the only tire I’ve had on this bike so far. I’m riding in soft dirt/sand, roots but no rocks. I had an IRC MB5 Evo on my 300. Straight line traction was pretty good but wasn’t a fan in turns in the same terrain.
