Excellent bike; I took one for a rip the other day and I was super impressed. I love the linear power of my TPI bikes but this TBI is amazing. Lot's of people will be buying this bike and Sherco and Beta will be way way behind as normal.
Awesome stuff. I'll be doing a review ony 2023 250XC soon as well. I'll subscribe to your channel also..trying to connect with as much XC owners with the TBI as possible !
Wow dude..?.. this is the best goddamn bike review I've been subjected to..mmm..ever! Been riding dirt bike since early 90's and appreciate your input... My 2000CR 125 will catch up to you, later, anywhere... I can't afford to get rid of it 😅 see you at the crossing! Dirt roads
Awesome review! I love mcnutt and I can see the at81ex working great there with tubliss, but where I live in Nelson the granite tears holes in that tire every other ride 😮 I’d like to hear a comparison between a TPI running a TSP flash/head vs the TBI stock
I’ve heard that a well setup TSB TPI bike is like a stock TBI, but I haven’t tried. Yup at81 is my choice…not in the summer or anywhere else though, I rip through em! IRC VE33S for summer.
Most comprehensive review I have seen on the new tbi. Were the spokes tight when you received the bike? Would love to see some videos of that bike in action
Regarding the Throttle Body F.I, I like... No-jetting convenience. Improved fuel combustion. Shock clicker hand-knobs. But compared to a carb'd model, I don't like... Maintenance complexity and cost. More Weight. (My carb'd model is already too heavy). Inflated Retail Cost is nearly $13,000 otd! I probably would'nt be able to get it a license plate. I ride a 2017 Husqvarna TE300 with a license plate.
Such a good review ! So happy with my husky tx so far. First lap out I felt that I could possibly change the gearing. Stock is 14/49 and considering a 14/51 for the Squamish/mcnutt stuff I enjoy.. thoughts ?
I’m very happy with the stock gearing, for technical stuff. The transmission is different, so 1st and 2nd gear are very close to the current xcw. Personal I think a 51 would be to much for me. I do like to run a gear higher typically and use a lot of clutch to keep traction.
@@TechEnduro cheers man! I’ll put more time before I change it. Overall really happy. Was dying at idle and clutch in near end of my vedder day so may need to twist the idle a tad. Did you have to play with yours yet ?
Thanks for sharing excellent review hows the gas mileage they say not so great. Might be a issue for after market larger tanks with the higher seat bolt anyway love the bike.
So far I get about 110km/65 miles ish per tank. Seems ok to me, same as TPI. HighlandCycles did a run dry test as well as a test of the fuel pump. Check him out on RU-vid. Unless you’re running on flat paved ground the pump works just fine. 👍
The odd thing about that is that I intentionally idled my bike a long time, when I changed my oil, too see what would happen. Plug was fine. Strange. Might be another issue🤷♂️
Hello buddy. Thanks for the video. I own a 300 sx 2023 and I notice I had some oil coming from the end silencer. My bike had 7hs running 60:1 just trail and it is my first 2t. Do you know why this? Btw the bike is running well just notice this oil splash in my rare brake
you probably already figured it out but the black stuff which is spooge just means that the engine is getting well lubricated and is excess oil, i would run 50:1-60:1 with an oil that has a flashpoint of 300 degrees fahrenheit or lower depending on ur type of riding
Great vid! Any thoughts on how this bike would do as a "do it all"? How would the suspension handle occasional mx track days for an old fart who doesn't jump anything huge?
Thank you for this video! Just bought one yesterday from international. Going to mcnutt Sunday!! What fan do you run? Will get the same one in hopes of no issues as well
Cool. I’ll probably riding Sunday too. I have the OEM fan no issues at all. It was on for 15 to 20 minutes straight and then periodically throughout the ride. Didn’t kill the battery totally fine.
Any issues fouling plugs? I have 2 TBI bikes. The 300xc and a 300TX. Both fouled plugs starting at about 3-4 hours. Riding singletrack and try to clean it out as I can and that’s usually when it fouls. Can’t believe of all the crap people talked about TPi bikes and I never had an issue with any of those I owned. Ugh. Love the bikes but don’t feel confident going on long rides without a couple plugs.
@@scottfast03you probably sold the bikes or figured it out but the way to fix it is going to the next hotter plug which means going down 1 number. for example the 2023 husky tx300 comes with a br8es, i would buy a br7es or a br7eix. that will fix ur issue and the br7eix will be even better than the br7es just a lot more expensive
@@goon.1 exactly what my local KTM dealer and Slavens Racing says, so I'm going to try the br7eix on both my 2023 KTM 250 XC bikes that foul their stock br8es every 3 hours or so. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qRRdagFnXTw.html
Of course the stator has enough capacity for a fan. It’s a fuel injection bike with a ecu. It will have the same output as any 2/4 stroke injection bike
@@toyota8830 Ride with guys that have 400 hours and 10,000 mi on two strokes. Bikes run amazing, riders are AA class...They change top end at lunch time at 150 hours that's it no bottom end work ever done.
KTM using customers as 1st year beta testers ???? i never heard of such a thing ..... 🙂 it looks badazz tho, i just can't fall in love w/all the electrics .... yet ......
The so called KTM customers are the R&D department of the company. I decided since they don't pay any wages that I'd stick with a 21' 250 SX and do my own trail modifications to make my own trail bike without being an R&D employee (aka TPI customer). Haven't regretted anything and enjoy seeing the injected/battery bikes getting towed out from the trails from time to time🤣
I believe you’re thinking of the 23 XCW. I’ve see those videos. That’s the old gen bike where they switch piston brand. I’d be surprised to see anybody have 65 hours on these as they were released last month. I’d also wager those are isolated issues.
@@TechEnduro I believe its the new 23 bikes and it's multiple not isolated the piston smashed to pieces, different times but all brand new bikes I used the earliest as an example 65 hours some a bit longer but all same problem, piston obliterated into pieces, p.s just repeating what I've seen🤷🤷🤷🤷
@@shaunbradley5253 I’ve seen probably the same videos. (The dirtbike rider) that’s a 23 XCW. I have yet to see a 23 XC piston issue. If you find one I’d love to know too.
@@TechEnduro I’m pretty sure the XC and XCW use the same top end. One guy tore down a XCW and the top end was actually labeled “300 SX” meaning all 3 300cc bikes have the same top end. The primary difference on the XCW is gearing, the engine is the same
@@dalecalahan4193 Hello, it has the A and B map switch. The power is wonderful. I just added a FMF header to it along with the Pipe as I needed a spark arrestor where I ride as the Park Rangers do check.
@@bbieger2 Don't forget linear engine on the TPI is a serious underrated engine set up, especially when in the super gnarly grunt stuff. All in all it's also an extremely dependable system and works great. No doubt the new TBI is amazing but no reason to take a bath on a newer bike just to grab the latest bike - rider is still 90% of the total equation
