Great review I’m glad you guys had a positive opinion on this car so many reviews talk about how slow it is compared to other cars in its class but that isn’t the point of this car

You won't be disappointed - I does over 25mpg on the road on cruise control at 72mph while at the same time giviing you a sleeper of a car that goes rather unnoticed when can have its advantages. It is nice to have the power on hand when needed.

This was a great video. Thanks for being honest about the rattles. A lot of people think Lexus automatically means no rattles/creaks - not true at all! Also your description of how difficult it is to find the perfect throttle balance between 1/10 and WOT is 100% accurate.

That window switch rattle is pretty common, I have it on my GS. It's because of the window switches, they need some damping to tone down the rattle when the stereo is on. You can take the switch panel off pretty easily and apply from felt tape to the back of the window switch assembly behind panel and it will fix it.

I brought my 2022 is 350 to Chick-Fil-A with antlers and they notice the antlers during the middle of summer lol.

Love my IS500. Sadly my iridium/red was damaged by my dealer when in for some new shoes. So I’m now rockin an Iridium/White. This car is the perfect balance for a daily commuter. However, when I want to have fun, it gets with it.

@@johnrobin2898 Unfortunately they had a fender bender and the front right corner of my bumper was scrapped up. They fixed it, but the bumper had some issues after that with fitment. So I asked them to buy my car and I’d buy a new one. It actually worked out pretty good for me as my car had 10k on it and I needed tires. Just have to get my parts swapped over to the new one and I’m golden.

That bump is the drivetrain hump. That’s why there is little room near gas pedal. Big engine and trans.

The window switches on my driver side door rattle too on my 2014 is350 sometimes I hold the switches to keep it from vibrating not a compelling enough issue for me to go buy a new switch

I’ve owned probably 100 vehicles and the sound system In this IS500 is one of the best I’ve had. I’m very impressed with it, you won’t be disappointed.

I’d be curious to see how owners feel about the red interior. I personally HATE the red. I ended up going with the Blue Mica 2.0 with White interior because Black interior would have been another 4 month wait.

You might have already mentioned this in the past but what cars (attainable by normal person), if any, would you recommend for least amount of NVH? I do like the Acura TLX and Genesis G70/80 for their stereo options but cannot stand possible rattles and am not certain they would fall under that low NVH chance

Actually Electrified GV70 is one of the quietest cars we've tested in a long time. Will have to think on others.

I dont think this high revving v8 would fit properly in the tundra. With a teuck engine, u want more low to mig range torque and a higher torque rating than the hp rating. But this is a high revving high octane higher hp than tq v8

It's such a great car. I just wish they would give it a better transmission and boost the exhaust note a tad. That would address like 97% of the complaints you hear about the car on RU-vid. The other 3% could be solved by changing out the track pad for a dial, which I've heard they will do for 2024 or 2025.

Boosting the exhaust and tranny would make it the LC500. There are used ones available with low miles for similar cost.

@@MercOne Have you actually sat in one? I don't think "terrible" is fair... the seats are great, and the gauge cluster looks cool and stylized. Now that we have an actual touchscreen with CarPlay and Android Auto, it is more usable than before. And, it looks like a car interior and not some weird rolling display case for curved screens.

@@MercOne It's also much more expensive and totally not the same sort of car. The M3 is designed to be a track-capable, more serious performer. This is more of a fast sedan that can eat up highway miles.

@@MercOne lol I don't need to tell myself anything. I didn't want to spend $80k on a car, so I didn't get an M3. I also didn't want something stiff riding with tons of fake engine sound either. As for the M340i, whatever. Those things are everywhere. I want something special. Is that so bad, to want a car with actual character? This car is not something I needed; it was something I wanted. If I needed a car, but wanted it to be sporty and practical while fitting a certain budget, maybe an M340i would have been higher on the list. But come on, you can't sit here and say you don't understand the appeal of a reliable, NA V-8-powered, RWD sedan in 2023 that I can still buy new with a warranty. Besides, they probably ain't going to make another IS like this.

@@LONGWALDO Lmao rip. I know the M340i seems like the boring choice, but it's so efficient, so smooth, so powerful, and actually has some character. Plus the rest of the car is nice to be in and looks sharp. The IS500 is sweet but too thirsty, too cramped, and the tech suite is lacking. Type S is a ton of fun, but unless I drove canyon roads daily, the missing features at that price point wouldn't be worth it. I love all three of these cars, but if I had to commit to a daily driver for 5 years, I'd want the Bimmer.

@@DailyMotor you do make good points there. Only things I'm not the biggest fan of on the m340i are the numb steering and soft brake pedal which makes me lean towards the Integra type s. Definitely a difficult choice for me in terms of what's more important in a long term daily driver

I’ve had a lot of Lexus cars, but the M340 is best luxury sport sedan for under 70k. Plus can be driven in all weather types. Faster and more tech. IS500 would be a second fun sedan to drive on nice days. If you want a second car to be a sedan.

I couldn’t tell you and I have both. I think if you want to mod to make big horsepower the ford’s probably better, but in stock form I’d take the Lexus 5.0
