However, it's one that won't mind seating its passengers in comfort at the same time. Turbo-hissing haters can rejoice, because the Lexus IS 500 F Sport gets the same naturally-aspirated V8 from the LC 500 and RS F coupes, pushing out 472hp. The IS 500 also features sported-tuned suspension by Lexus, bigger brakes, a Torsen limited-slip differential and 19-inch Enkei wheels wrapped with performance tires to further improve the car's performance.

A lot of people will say that this styling is so outdated buy 10-15 years down the line it will be the only vehicle running issue free than it's competitors and that alone is what makes this vehicle bullet proof!

It may be outdated in almost everything but, I’m pretty sure you’ll never see 500k miles in its competitors. And will definitely have the lowest cost of ownership in its class. Don’t need all the bells and whistle, in the end EVERYTHING gets old, but reliability never does….

I have the 2022 IS500 with this color combo (also had it with my 2016 IS350 FSport) and it's AWESOME! Some dealers call it the 'Hero Spec' and others the 'Superman Spec'. Your kids are right, I personally lean towards the friendly neighborhood wall crawler myself. 😄Other than upgrading the tires to Pilot Sport 4S' and installing a Tom's Racing air filter, it really doesn't need anymore mods, because it's not a track car. NOTE: I'm mulling around the GTHaus exhaust. Very nice review, you hit all the right & relevant points. The car is quite livable because it's still a Lexus and can be fuel efficient, but where's the fun in that? 😈 I also love the Jekyll & Hyde nature of the car, but about 90% of the time mine is driven in Sport+ and Manual mode. This car is worth every penny and I'm keeping mine forever.

@@timw2083 That color combo is SUPER rare! There were only 7 in the U.S. of mine for 2022. Be sure to get the interior protected immediately. Saw a IS 350 in that spec at Caffeine and Octane last year and they were extremely stained. I was embarrassed for the owner to be honest. Good luck!

I have a 2022 M340i. I love the: driving dynamics, looks, and acceleration. What don't I like about my M340i? Going to the BMW service center 10 to 12 times in a 15 month period. I test drove the IS500. I like: reliability, touchscreen/updated interior, exterior styling cues and redesign, the Mark Levenson system, the V-8 sounds pretty good as well. Problems: too slow off the line, doesn't handle as well as the Bimmer. Finally, is it me, or is the size of the IS interior a lot smaller than a 3 series?

Almost monthly visits to service for a new car under warranty. Imagine what a pain in the wallet it will be when it's out of warranty. For me that puts it into the category of a car I can't really own, it's a disqualifier.

@Eric Min I also read that the B58 has an amazing engine. I figured if Toyota uses it, it must be reliable because of their reputation. Unfortunately, I have been unlucky so far. I have had one drivetrain malfunction and one powertrain malfunction. There were two seperate warning screens/alerts that caused a dramatic and instantaneous loss in power. Also, a lot electrical issues with: the touchscreen, the speakers, the amp, a window that was stuck, etc....

@Eric Min I had less than 12,000 miles when I had all of those problems. The issues that I listed in my previous answer is all the information that I have for you at this time. Once I received the drivetrain and powertrain warnings, I just took them to Bmw to be fixed under warranty. I did not ask really specific questions as to what exactly happened.

A V8 isn't "really heavy." A turbo V6 is about the same weight. They use turbo 6s for fuel efficiency fleet requirements. A 5 liter V8 is going to burn more idling at a stop light than a turbo 3.6 liter V6 or a 3 liter straight six. Probably the only reason Lexus can sell this car in the USA is because they have so many other hybrids and other efficient motors to offset the fleet numbers.

@@Prstyles4evry1 Yeah I used to live in upper Makakilo, now live Sedona, AZ. Speed limit on Interstate is 75 mph, which mean you can approach 85 without troopers to bother. In neighboring Utah, parts of I15 have 80 mph speed limits. On Oahu there is just too much traffic, everywhere, most of the time.

I’m really thinking about getting a is 500 or a gen 3 raptor… idk which way to lean… I’m doing reviews every other day and I’m still at the same place where I started .. any one care to drop suggestions for me ?

Completely different cars and experiences obviously. Downsides of the Raptor: obviously not going to handle on the road like an IS, which is where you'll be most of the time. Braking is especially a problem for trucks, the Raptor is going to basically too fast for it's own good. If you're not a chill person, you might end up ramming something you didn't mean to. Parking is going to be horrific. Never mind that it's too wide and long, there are garages you won't even be able to drive into without worrying about hitting the roof. MPG is going to be even more terrible in the Raptor than the IS. No Ecoboost engine is going to last like this V8. Ford does not have a good reputation for quality, which I've experienced with fleet cars. Toyota is the leader in quality. Hands down, I'd rather have the ownership experience of the IS. I can see how tooling around in a giant, ridiculous truck would be funny, though.

It takes a second longer for a big V8 to rev up to peak power than it does for a hot turbo six to build boost to make the same power. For a road car, I don't care.

Lmao why hate cars you can't afford? I bought 2 brand new IS500's in 1 year. A '22 Launch Edition & now a '23 IS500. also INFINITI owners are a bunch of tools.
