@@CarCoachReports From what I understand, someone can buy the company? I would hope it can be saved. We need EVs without unnecessary gadgets and technology.
Who is we? You and the mouse in your pocket? American reject control of our movement. Trust and believe Electric will take a back seat, it's a global control scam. Wake up@@Domspun
NE Ohio was decimated by unions, the large employers didn't leave for any other reason, anybody notice that Cleveland, Youngstown and Warren are all on the USA's 50 worst cities to live in? How did that happen? Now that Lordstown Motors sold to Foxconn they move the Chinese Communist Party right in as Foxconn has the built in advantage of advertising itself as a Taiwanese company . . . enjoy . . as you reap that which you sow
Why aren't we seeing more of these? Great truck, made in America, hub electric motors and it really looks great. I know Lordstown has been through challenging times and I'm glad they are finally in production. I'm really rooting for them to succeed and it qualifies for the IRA tax credit. Hope they sell really well.
They should have done delivery vans or made a hybrid of the trucks. They took a big swing without calculating how much it would cost to build an EV and overlooked how long Tesla took to get their vehicles right and profitable. Lastly, I feel sorry for all those soon-to-be-lost jobs. Hopefully, someone will buy that factory to build one of their vehicles.
Yes, same here. Surprising how the Tradesman HFI Ecodiesel gets up to 34 MPG. With the 32-gallon tank, one can drive from LA to Boise, Idaho, on one fuel tank. I am waiting on the Ram Evolution to see real-world ratings (up to 500 miles and double the speed for charging) to determine if this would be a reasonable trade-in.
@@CarCoachReports Agreed. Have you done any research to why so many Toyotas and Hondas with low mileage are the two largest resold vehicles? Among the four largest sellers of used vehicles websites, I have witnessed this strange data.
Just seen an in person demo of this truck... first time seeing one in person, & very nice for what it is, & seems to be nicely assembled. (I see the GM cues now, but first thought it was an updated Ridgeline at first sight). I kind of think they are missing the boat on fleets with the lack of a longer bed, & would a business use really need the back seat? I would also think an enclosed van type design would be more in demand for businesses. This seems to be a follow the leader industry, & it was nice to keep it's features basic. I wish Lordstown Motors well on this venture, the area needs an economic boost. I toured the facility in Lordstown when it was producing the Vega in the early '70's . Should they be selling to the private sector though for an EV at 60K?, & for someone that wants basic & not many "toys" these oversized luxury vehicles from the other manufactures are approaching $100K, this could be a good option for quite a bit less.
Agreed. If this truck came in sub $40k, especially pre tax credit, fleet managers all over the country would be tripping over themselves to buy them. There is just no value proposition at $65,000
Glad to finally see a review in English :) about this truck, Chi Yip is a legend along Darren Post, Does anyone know if he still works there? I HEARD he spit some info about other vehicles in development and got in trouble :(
@@CarCoachReports With the low range lack of simple tech like apple car play and the fact that you knew more about it then he did I tend to agree. However congratulations they have been hiding around a truck with deep tint and something they have pushed into trade shows for a while. When you said you must have a lot of these sold and he said well we have some. It didn’t sound good. But thank you for a very good review
@@stern12akachris32 They former CEO got in trouble for saying that they had a lot of orders on Mad Money, when in fact they either didn't or it was just a few several years ago.
I really liked your video and the info you shared. I did not know they had 6 other vehichles in the works. You said that early. Is that true? I have been an investor in Lordstown Motors for almost 2 years. Please ask them to announce who their first customer is. I would like to know. Thank you again for not disparaging them like most of the other media does. They are under viscious attack from wallstreet funds, who control a lot of media outlets who smear Lordstown Motors often. If you could get permission to tow a trailer of up to 8,000 lbs and report back to me what their range is, that would be very helpful. Thank you.
YEs this is from an internal. I asked about first customer but they will not share anything. WE had one shot with the truck, but I hope to go to the drive event. I'm not the biggest fan of EVs, however, I ALWAYS give every vehicle a fair shake as if I was buying it. You and others deserve to know and understand your options. Thank for the comments. I'll try to get more information for you and others.
@@CarCoachReports Thank you again for your reply. I was wondering if these 6 other vehicles would be trim levels on future Endurance pick up trucks? Could that be what they meant? What did you mean by internal? Did the man who drove with you tell you this off record? Thanks 👍
It seems to me that there is not enough marketing and promotion for the company The EV looks great I work for a company that manufactures armored vehicles based on Ford in the Middle East and in my opinion this is a great alternative to an armored military vehicle, the marketing of company doesn't work, you have to think outside the box and go outside your comfort zone and knock on every door
Great review Lauren !!! The audio from your recording was very quiet…did you use an iPhone (cell phone) and was it attached to the dash ? Earlier videos of the truck being driven had a lot of noticeable creaks and suspension (NVH) noise in the cabin while driving… yet your drive sounded VERY quiet ? You gave one response below as having reservations on its success, is that based on specific data or information, or just your opinion ..? Thanks, m
I use a zoom mic but we shared the mic. As for success, its all based on sales and reliability. The vehicle looks great! If sales support the brand they will succeed. There is plenty of competitors and many brands have fleet experience. Lots of factors in play.
Actually I think it looks better than the current GM Line, not overbearing in the hood either. I once drove a 1500 W/T (1989) as a company vehicle, very spartan with manual windows (what a work truck should actually be). A pickup isn't my choice necessarily my choice for a personal vehicle, but I would had considered a used version of one of these at some point as my second vehicle.
The window for Lordstown to be successful is rapidly closing. Its nice they are in production but that is not enough to be successful. They need to achieve 1 truck coming out the door every 20 minutes very soon or they will fail.
I don’t think they need to come out that fast, but they need to have a few hundred out there and not recalled or they are going to certainly fail very, very soon.
Sorry bro. It isn’t over yet though. They just need a little more help. They have completed vehicles that just need to be improved. It’s a tough gig going against Ford and all the established manufacturers with all their R&D money. I hope it works out for them, because we need little companies to make it. Only a few big companies is bad for everyone but them and their biggest share holders. You took a shot at something that had a chance, hopefully it works out against all odds.
Very Impressive truck. I would like one but I would like a heated seats and heated steering wheel. Great report and interview. Demonstration of truck is very impressive. It would be great if this truck could have a easy unplug and plug in battery for the customer/owner. Is that a great idea ?
I want EVs to succeed. I hate seeing hard working families waste thousands on ICE maintenance bills....I've been following Lordstown EV only because I find the Foxconn partnership interesting,.
Oh, you think electric vehicles are going to be more reliable than a toyota gas? Less cost? Less maintenance? Well, you are starting from a tens of thousands of dollar disadvantage from the initial buy and to believe a machine will mot break and need fixed is crazy.
Several questions.... Why is this truck be eligible for the tax credits and others aren't? And how much is the tax credit for? $10k? $15k? How did you like driving the truck? Is it better or worse than any other work trucks that you've driven? I know this truck really is a "work truck" unlike normal retail sale trucks which are intended for the average homeowner to also go visit their doctor with so those are probably made more like a passenger vehicle by comparison to the Lordstown truck. They were going to build 500 of these in 2022 and only 2,500 in 2023 which is really anemic. Then I think it was 15,000 in 2024. I'm hoping now with FoxConn in the mix that they could get the number up to more like 20,000 in 2023 or more. 2,500 vehicles is like nothing. Buyers will be flocking to Ford or Rivian if they can't get them from LMC.
@@kennisW Stop spreading fake information. The company said it MIGHT have to file bankruptcy. They still have $200M in cash and are looking for other financing and other partners.
Just give it back to americans... u guys rewrote the history.. pickup designs & magnet motor engineering of these truck was invented special for truckers 》 far beyond gm ford f series pickup
Bad presentation. The interior of the vehicle was not shown or was this deliberate. A potential customer has to know or see what he or she is paying for.
@@FentoZ They've already delivered 50 cars according to themselves, so the customers can't see their own dashboard? Lol. However, they are probably just making it up like everything else, it's a con company on it's way to bankruptcy.
Electric is actually more convenient than gas. Never ever have to drive to and from ⛽️ cause you’ll always wake up to a full tank. Especially no fluids maintenances required. EVs owner since 2019. ⚡️ 🚗 win!
jesus, $63k for a shitty car like that. 200 miles on a full charge? child safety door latch is worth mentioned? 40 mins to charge to 80%??? who’s going to buy this?
If you haven’t noticed…. Their intentions are to make it so you do not have a choice. If there was a choice, hardly anyone would buy them and all this money into R&D would have never had been spent to get EV where it is today.
@@CarCoachReports Lauren, I am 31 years old and when I was 13 years old, back in elementary school, I had seen a "Popular Science" magazine in my science class that had a picture of an EV car called, "Venturi Fitiesh" from europe. That was my first interaction with an EV car and that was the first time that I had learned of something called, "Electric Car". The moment i saw that I DID NOT like EV's and that remains true till today. I love V8's just too much.
I guess I found where the out of work clowns comment. Dude, there is nothing wrong with electric cars. If your 31 you WILL have an electric vehicle by the time your 45. V8's are awesome. You can't stop the majority. They elected Fetterman. You are losing more freedoms every minute.
@@thereissomecoolstuff Not really. The moment you said, "Workout clowns" I stopped taking you seriously. See what has happened in Switzerland. Switzerland has shutdown EV cars due to electricity shortage. An average american has about 11 cars in his or her lifetime. I have 6 cars to my name that I will keep for ever. No electric. relax buddy ur nose is getting bigger i can tell.
