Nice video! In general, within a particular brand, do you find 12 inch barrel bats are the best for power? Like would you typically pick a 12 inch LS over a 12.5 LS? a 12 inch Demarini over a 13 inch Demarini? etc.
It really depends on the bat, usually I prefer a short barrel because they swing more barrel heavy. But with LS I like the 13” barrel more, where as DeMarini I like the 12”. Generally the sweet spot on 12” bats are less forgiving but tend to be more rewarding when you nail it.
Was hoping this new tech didn't sound so terrible, but this sounds like the 2022 LS bats with that awful ping/ting sound. They sound and feel great hitting 52s but the harder balls sound and feel a lot worse and like the bat is breaking.
The bat actually changed sounds during Dave’s round. The camera doesn’t really pick it up as much but it definitely started to sound less metallic during our second round. But it is still higher pitched.
honestly I wouldn't know. My only other reference point for a genesis is from the KB24 and newer. This one definitely opened up quicker and dropped compression faster with the new composite though.
Haha… Great timing! Just make sure you break in the new one with some 52/300 balls. I put about 100 hits on this one before filming just to avoid the classic paint seams and premature breaking. After our 400 hits it’s still looking good!
Absolutely I usually put a good hundred fifty or so with some BP's on all of my Genesis before I go out. 25 balls at 25%, 50 balls at 50%, another 50 balls at 75% and then start letting it go. Had the white one for about 6 months and it has probably 800 game swings.
Check out the Louisville custom uniforms website, they have a ton of LS designs on there. I’m not sure if their discount codes work in there as well but if they do it’s DT34 or SO5.
HAHA! they aren't bad, they just take 1000 cuts to get good. Or maybe they are just leaving enough meat on the bone for everyone else. If they started making the best ASA and Senior bats you wouldn't need any other brand!
