When the W221 was launched in India, I had read in one auto magazine that with the amount of technology the car comes, it makes a space shuttle look like a Diwali rocket. I remember this whenever a new S is launched.
This is an excellent review. I have had my for 3 weeks and agree with everything you commented on. The main thing I find annoying is the center vents are chrome and cause a glare/reflection on the front windshield.
May Mercedes-Benz invent a non-reflective inner windshield glass? That comment of the vents reflecting on the windshield is mentioned by everybody everywhere. I wonder what Mercedes will do about it in future versions, assuming they are now aware of it.

3:53 is exactly my beef with Mercedes right now. Before you could easily distinguish oh now only is that a Mercedes it’s a S class or a CL etc. now they all look exactly the same there’s just a subtle different in a body line here or there and the head lights. Is that a $35k c class? Oh now it’s a $150k s class. I hate that.
And as a matter a fact, some customers I know tell me that Mercedes quality in general have really gone down hill with their cost cutting with the interior quality but still manage to nickel and dime you for servicing your luxury vehicle since it has to be their way or hit the highway…
Sorry, but, Old School method: This is a twin-turbo S400. Yes, I'm old school and was a test driver in Stuttgart at Mercedes when an S500 had 5 liters of displacement and an S600 head 6 L of displacement--- none of this modern, hokey BS labeling.
Purchased this car in the executive edition and hated it. Sold it in six months for half, no one wants it. Just buy anything but this car, total rip off worth not more than 100 thousand!
Mercedes interior is one of the best, but their depreciation and reliability is the worst. My brother got this car when it first came out, and it had a lot of electrical issues. Few months later it got Lemoned.

@@Selimabcde Was totally unexpressed with the S 580. The technology is just not what it should be. The car is way overpriced, try $100 for the executive edition which is currently priced at $169. Sold it at a loss of 70 thousand because I hated so much.
I work at a local Mercedes Dealer as a Service Valet, and I had one customer with a 2023 S580 (not even 4,000 miles on it, he brought it brand new as a custom build order) come to the service department 10 different times in the last 2 months to drop it off for electrical issues, safety features malfunctioning, even had the check engine light on (it’s literally brand new!), and he said, even though it’s such a beautiful car, this is one of the worst brand new cars he has ever purchased, mind you he has owned a few Mercedes vehicles in the past and this S580 was $130K for a car with cheap materials and issues. Im sorry but I don’t even think this car would last 50,000 miles… maybe you’d be lucky if it hits 100K miles🤷♂️
