The S Class has a soul, it’s charming when it turns the front wheels as it drops them as if they’re falling (outstanding Mercedes tradition). The best or nothing
@seansiew5629 The design language of the BMW barley stacks up. And the Mercedes can go double of the range on Ev than the BMW. In history BMW has always had a edge up on Benz in performance. Everytime a new model comes out and they race BMW usually edges out Mercedes. For years. But ppl don't care about super small increments of better performance. Total design is at the fore front of the Car Industry now. Imagine when Mercedes decides to fully redesign the Sclass😩..You already know lol
@@seansiew5629a flop? S Class heavily outsells the rolls royce wannabe 7 series😂 I've been paying attention to your comments and it seems you're just a bmw fan boy
@@lizparks1662 where’s your source selling better than the 7 series? From what I see 48k 7 series sold last year and 37k S classes sold worldwide, and I have a w221 and w222 sitting at home, plus I picked the w214 E class over the G60 5 series
You are not a BMW driver! 😆 BMW drivers are very intentional. They do not care about just having a beautiful outwardly looking suv or car, or an all show but no go image! 😆
Well that slogan ain’t true because the average BMW is a better made vehicle than Mercedes, is more reliable and sells more. Check Consumer Reports who literally buys most of the brands themselves, research all the mechanic data and trouble indexes. And then tests them day in and day out for at least a few yrs after purchasing them brand new from the brand Dealerships! BMW is way at the top and Mercedes is way at the bottom in overall reliability!
@@seansiew5629 Same with BMW. And if there is next model, previous 7 series looks cheap. With Mercedes that is far less the case. Not for nothing heads of states, ... are mostly driven in S classes.
@@Stijn5 nah the new 7 series despite the looks sold better than the S class, been to west coast of LA and Berlin Germany where those are selling like hotcakes compared to the S class, and my mechanic has 2 of the worst s classes namely the w220 and w223, he told me both of those are just unreliable crap, I would be staying with my w221 and w222,possibly considering the G70 in LCi form soon
Am a BMW fan and I driver one, but I have to agree with you. BMW is losing the touch and skills now in terms of designs. They are taking a direction we don't like a customers. No offense to anyone but it's like they are designing with a lady on their minds they ignoring what we as man want. Look at the new 5 Series. It's not bold like the previous model infect it looks so ugly they even put the fake exhausted spoiler at the back. If you ask me whos style is that I will say, Mercedes.
@@DEZ2255-hg2yd I personally never said with one is more sports oriented and which is more comfortable. I just said I'd take the Merc if I could afford either one.
@@gerardi2000 Word is they are being dyno'd here in the USA closer to 590 hp and 650 lb/ft of torque with cool weather and good quality gas...so it seems BMW numbers are stated for the power numbers they will produce in a horribly humid and very hot day with terrible quality 91 octane gas and very restrictive european exhaust system...drop 110 octane gas in it and have it retuned to match that, then watch what the dyno numbers will come back as...guaranteed they will be way above 600hp no doubt....
It's not really about bmw numbers here. If he did an EV only drag race, you'd see where all the extra power figure from the MB comes from. A comfort mode rolling race would also do the same with a sizeabledifference . Sport mode rolling would be a bit tighter, but the Merc would still irk out a win
@@SamCarLegion, it's a good thing they're sold in Canada. Even though I'm not Canadian, I'm a Filipino, but I once saw a 7 Series G70 at night after I finished badminton class. Therefore, I think that BMW is available in my country. As for the S-Cass W223, I think it's already available too.
Merc already looks like a Hyundai, yes, even more so than the Genesis. The 7 Series is still unmistakably BMW, still commands terrific road presence, and actually looks less weird in person.
Owning an almost new S580, I have to admit, I like the BMW. Yes, it's huge, and those headlamps are weird, but I like it. I spec'd it a few times, the interior looks very nice as well. It's a bit spooky how the S-class looks like a C-class beside the BMW. 😄
Listen at that BMW engine sound!! Man! No one makes a straight six like BMW! Only the Toyota 2JZ is king, after that it’s the BMW S58 and B58 straight sixes!!
I’m still a Lexus Toyota person of 30 yrs. But I am past driving boring cars, and i don’t necessarily want a Porsche. For me. It’s gonna soon be one of those beautiful BMW suvs, convertibles or sedans. Hands down. I’ve already done all the research I needed to do to make those absolute determinations/selections! Believe That! 😉
My family has had both. First the 2022 S580, now a 2025 BMW 760i. The BMW is the better car. It just feels a generation ahead with all of its technology.
That 4 way steering was much better with the Benz perfect turn loop and centered it perfectly. The BMW almost hit the post and you would have to correct the pitch of the turn lol
BMW wins. Merc always look old school. BMWs always feel modern "james bond vibes" If u park both outside a nightclub or in the street. Everyone will gaze at the bmw. The bmw feels 'intimidating' in person. She's longer than the merc. Almost like a Rolls Royce. Thats luxury
The Mercedes has PreSafe which Mercedes has had since the S Class from the early 2000s. When you brake hard or swerves or it detects an imminent collision, it moves the seats to a crash optimised upright position, tightens the seat belts, closes the windows for the side airbags to work more optimally in case of a side impact or roll over. If the crash happens, postsafe activates which then unlocks all doors, shuts off the engine, cuts the fuel supply, switches on all interior and exterior lights, applies full braking pressure so the car doesn't continue rolling, opens the side windows a few inches for better access by emergency services and calls emergency services and automatically sends the car's location. Also, remember the S Class doesn't punch off the line because it's supposed to be smooth and progressive for comfort. Also the suspension counteracts harsh braking so the occupants feel it less.
The BMW 7 Er looks amazingly stunning, and having Test Driven the i7, I will choose anytime over a Mercedes-Benz S Class, or an EQS, even a Bentley Flying Spur W12. Hence, the M760e and the i7 M70 are the Best in this class.
@@realkingtv7885 one its the quality, in an S class, you got a lot of plastic areas like the lower console, the glove compartment and door pockets, compared to the w221 and w222 which had a lot of leather around those areas, and as well as having to rely on a touchscreen makes the whole car a problematic one, not to mention the E-ABC is a scam by MB to proof its "better" than an Airmatic, where most of the times i feeling the bump which is not supposed to be with air suspension, tested an S580 with 19" and E-ABC
@@pacmanc8103 nothing extraordinary for having a copy paste design from smaller range models just like Tesla do, i guess you don't mind crappy reliability
Bmw little brother to Rolls Royce wins hand down in technology and performance definitely would take the sport package over the basic. S class nahh boring 🥱👎
At £120k for a new 7 series a better buy is a second hand latest generation flying spur. Theyve not released a LWB version of the 7 series this time which was a strange choice as that made the F02 such a head turner. Out of these two would take the S class.
@@rapide12345 I’m sticking to my w221 and w222, the w223 has crappy reliability and I have no time to deal with tons of issues when I need to have client meetings, rather the 750e is my preferred choice, I don’t care how “ugly” looks is, I just knew the G70 is definitely the winner in my book
Great content, I don’t believe the exterior of the BMW is appreciated much because it’s so new but when it comes to an overall vehicle, my vote goes to the BMW. Cheers.
Mercedes is king of subtleties. Every Mercedes is built with this philosophy in mind. Those subtlties can be experienced but cannot be explained, and so you find yourself wondering why you like the car without being able to fully explain this. Subtleties make you forget how much you paid for the car. Every mercedes i have ever owned have this quality.
The new Mercedes as of post Covid has garbage quality, Mercedes owners love to live in their past, proof? G wagon is the reason why Mercedes survive which also thanks to Kim Kardashian’s spam advertising
@@seansiew5629 Those are your views, which i do disagree with. Mercedes now has some high quality line up. For example, Mercedes has the most reliable and most powerful production 4 cylinder, the M139. Nobody makes anything that comes close. Highly reliable and must be driven hard more frequently than you may want. So, i would caution anyone buying a Mercedes with the M139 engine. You need to enjoy driving aggressively to fully appreciate that engine. It makes 467 horses in the new C63 AMG and about 412 horses in the CLA 45 AMG. The other two super reliable mercedes engines are the M276 (3.5 liter v-6 versions or the 3.0 liter twin turbo version) and the M256 (inline 6 turbo). If you buy any mercedes with any of these engines in them, you are good to go so long as you do the recommended maintenance on them. for their V-8, I would stick to their M177. Mercedes 9-speed gearbox is literally bullet proof whether with their torque converter or dual clutch versions. So, I am not sure what you mean by Mercedes quality is no longer what it used to be. The models Mercedes made during and after they bought and sold off Chrysler had electrical issues and some engine related issues. Those are the ones i would stay away from with the exception of the C230 Kompressor which was surprisingly bulletproof. i know a person with that model that has almost 300,000 miles on it.
For me, i would pick the rolls Royce brother the bmw 7 series, simply because it has solid and amazing build quality, not like the Mercedes all off the materials are made from ruff plastic , and still everybody talking about it is so ugly i am not sure if that's the truth or simply they can't afford it 😂
Bitter fanboys like to overhype a boring looking car, nothing special about it and it’s garbage in terms of reliability, and my MB mechanic told me the w220 and w223 is one of the worst S classes for a reason
The 7 series may be faster and have a much bigger screen and overall tech . But it will never beat an S class when it comes to comfort and the feel of opulence ( even though the W223 has a bit of hard plastic here and there ) .
@@sivuyiledumalisile6308 the best car in the world tagline has been hyped by the w140, and tbh from a w221 and w222 ownership perspective, the w223 is just a downgrade from the past 2 generations i have owned
I assume both brands have a rather good repor between each other but I don’t think they had several conversations between each other in terms of how they were going to design their cars or had a long conversation in terms of how they’d design their cars because I think more likely then not they just went different ways about designing their car lol. Mercedes is allegedly putting a panoramic infotainment screen that stretches across the whole dashboard in the new s class anyways so your point about bmw putting the panoramic screen in the front of the cabin because Mercedes was using a tablet design for theirs is likely not correct also for the reason of Mercedes likely already having had plans of using a panoramic style screen for the facelift when they were creating this current generation s class
Great video. That BMW 7 looks so ridiculous that in 2 years or less the depreciation will be also ridiculous. Look at Citroën C4 and there is the i7.😂.....WHILE Mercedes S Class is like a fine wine just gets better with time.
S class has Maybach version, which offers far more room in the back than the 7 or S class LWB. I would just take the Maybach badges off and then you have an extra long wheelbase S class.
@@seansiew5629 Waaw, you truly are a simpleton. We're talking about cars in S class, 7 series, ... price range. Your "logic" --> "But, but, but, a Phantom 8 extended wheelbase is better...." That car costs three times the price of an S-class, 7 series, ... you nitwit.

BMW woke up so late and now they're doing too much with the 7 Series trying to catch up but unfortunately the S Class is levels above it's almost impossible to compete, the amount of tech and designs they added to new 7 Series made it look like a gadget store instead of a flagship luxury limousine lol. And if someone is looking for a sporty limousine they'll go straight to an Audi dealership for an S8. No businessman or high profile politician is going to choose this gadget store instead of an S Class. But probably BMW is targeting streamers and influencers with this car
audi sportier than bmw? ahahah you don't know what you're talking about, in what exactly is mercedes levels above? the bmw drives way better, it's way better built and it doesn't squeak in the interior like mercedes, it has the best seats is any production car so you have no valid point whatsoever.. here in italy and europe in general bmw is outselling mercedes and audi in every category... must be a reason why. the m cars are levels above any amg or rs car from audi. just watch carwow videos and see who wins. the m5cs will destroy supercars. everybody has their taste but bmw is the best of them all. JUST 100% FACTS
It does look like a Rolls Royce, which what luxury designs should convey that is presence, where the S class is lacking, on the other hand the 7 series interior is more of a luxurious one than the crappy plastic the w223 has, the w221 and w222 itself cemented the best car in the world status where the w223 just doesn’t
Kids dream of owning an M3 or M5 but no one dream of owning a 7 series. Meanwhile the S Class/Maybach is a status symbol. Thats the difference, BMW is literally just wasting time and energy in this lost battle instead of focusing on what they do best, making crazy M5
