Lots of power for that 2.0 in the Benz but they need to do something about the turbo lag. It’s embarrassing for a premium brand. The tech is out there to help that horrible lag
Just bought a c300 , and man the turbo lag in this thing is fuckin terrible , once she gets going she’s pretty quick but that damn lag has me wanting to trade it in
It's also the dual-clutch that makes it seem like it's horrible turbo lag, it's a manual that works like an automatic, the clutch has to engage when you're at a dead stop just like if you were driving with an actual manual. They do have some lag though, the twin scroll in my CLA 45 takes a second to get full boost unless you're in race start. I've heard a pedal commander can help but I haven't used one before so I can't confirm.
@@509_amg the pedal commander I hear good things also. I drove a Jeep grand wagoner with the 3.0l tt and it was a beast for the size. No turbo lag. Sure I think it’s the setup and twin turbo also but the two Benz I tried I was disappointed. They should have at least kept a 6 cylinder. Too many premium cars cheaping out to four bangers. Too much power will cause issues in the longevity of the vehicle. Imo
first time i've seen such a brutal launch from the g70 in the final drag race. how was that possible? stinger gt and g70 have moderate launches. this one shot off like the Germans.
That MB motor is almost maxed out in PSI where the Q50 3.0t and this 3.3T have way more potential increases in power when tuned. If only we could get our hands on a Nismo Q50 😍😢 out here
So what the Audi S4 makes even less hp than both the Genesis & the Benz at only 349hp and it beat this very same c43. Face it Genesis is a joke. They literally built a car around everything Benz, BIMMER & especially Audi, even Rolls Royce...hell they even stole the Bentley Emblem...the brand is a cheap wannabe German competitor knockoff that has mastered nothing.
@@cashgettin9411 G70/Stinger and S4/S5 are identical on the roll. Watch Sam's other video's and Car and Driver results. Where the Audi, Merc and BMW shine is the launch. In Canada, all 3 of the German's are 20K more than the G70.
Its crazy i found this video from a news article where they were trying to make it seem as though the v6 that kis Hyundai makes it horrible, but in reality that 4 cylc is the fastest 4 cyc engine thats made right now. That V6 in the long run will out perform that 4 cylc, but it needs time to get there. If uou also tune that 6cyc it gets much better.
Next time you put someone to race in the G70 please make sure that they know how to drive and have been a quick car before. Buddy has no clue what he was doing.
I own a 3.3T Genesis- 2019. In sport mode she is quick as hell, and in Eco mode I get about 27mpg. Only drawback is the rear seat fits only people below 5'2"
BMW driver here, every time I see an untuned N54 N55 B58 I just wonder why, this G70/Stinger is making me feel the same way. They are potent out of the box but down right wicked with a tune. Save the $20K tune the thing and enjoy.

Sorry but at almost a 100k i will never buy a 4 cylindre. What makes the Germans stand out is their transmissions. I can imagine a Lexus IS500 or the Q50 RS with the same kind of trany, it woud be another game. It is so sad because you can keep them for a long time without having any issues. Easy to fix too. I wouldn't want to service that MB after 5-6 yrs on a Canadian road.

That's because the BMW cheated with their M models (including the M340i) by using huge amount of battery power.. it's more than hybrid. Mercedes didn't want to cheat, so they went officially claimed battery hybrid, to nearly keep up with the M340i.. The BMW is going down soon though. The criminals (they are not the germans) that own BMW got taken out.. won't be long before the company collapses.
@TheRealCatof, sure those organizations said the same thing of my 31 year old car with 346,000 miles. If you want to believe those organizations, please do so. But do not spread the propaganda for KIA and Hyundai. The previous generation of M139 engines and the current generations found in the CLA 45 are known to be very good engines. Let me know when KIA and Hyundai can produce a thing without copying Mercedes Benz or BMW.
U guys will say anything to save a knockoff. At the end of the day it got smoked....it's a wannabe copy everything from Audi, BIMMER & Benz yet does nothing great has mastered nothing. Benz has the best luxury and tech in this class, BMW has the best performance & Audi best Styling, innovation, turning radius and of the best AWD system...they mastered these traits what Genesis do. The car is a copy of every real car.
This video make ms me feel better as I just traded in my G70 for a AMG C43 cabriolet and felt my Genesis was faster. Both as nice cars are such a pleasure to drive but the MB sound… OMG, so satisfying! I think I perhaps just have to give my engine a lil time to show its true potential…?
The m340i isn’t nothing special. You guys talk about it like it’s the holy grail. All BMW did was lie about it’s performance numbers from factory and that’s it. If BMW would of just advertised it as having 450 hp stock then everyone would be looking at it differently and realize it should be as quick as it is. It’s quick but it’s just quicker than the cars in its segment but not quick enough to be on its d i c k like you guys are.

@@supitk No it's definitely nothing special. It's a 3 series with an over booted inline 6 cylinder. It's advertised making 382 hp and 369 ft lb tq but is making more like 430+ horsepower and 400+ ft lb tq. It doesn't offer anything else it's rival doesn't and it's only slightly faster than a 2.0t 4 cylinder offered by Mercedes. It's nothing special, it's priced close to what the f80 m3 cost new. I would rather get a true M car and get an used f80/f82 m3/m4 over a m340i. It would be special if it was priced like a none M car but it's priced as if it's a true M car. Btw I don't own a Genesis or any car in that segment.
Difference between a lighter and more powerful car vs a heavier with less power car ))) The engineering department of hyundai/kia is actually german LoL. If you open the hood of a kia/hyundai you will see a lot of german components.
I’d prefer the older Merc but I’d take this years AMG over any Korean product. Not just because I’m a hater of Korean cars because of their early 90s-00s era problematic cars but because they have continued that up until now. Almost every Kia or Hyundai within 6 months of release has catastrophic recalls due to engine failure or fire. If you have one of their products and have had no issues congrats as far as myself and everyone we know there will never be a Korean car in any of our garages or driveways. Edit: don’t take my word for it , just look it up. Right now there is a seat belt recall on almost all Genesis products where the seatbelt tensioners could explode during a crash , 3.3T has a recall for the turbo feed line leaking oil onto the exhaust manifold and 7 more active recalls totalling 9 that are related to injury or fire.
I have a 2018 3.3T with over 100k miles. Never let me down, drives as tight and quiet as it did new. Wife has a 2016 Santa Fe Sport with 85k miles, no issues. Kia and Hyundai are hit and miss.
Speaking from personal experience, my Stinger is almost 4 years old now with 155,000km and all I’ve done are the basic maintenance, brakes, spark plugs, atf and oil changes. I’ve driven it every single day and it’s never had to sit in the shop for even a day. It’s been a great reliable and head turning daily driver even though it pushes 450awhp and awtq.
Im sorry to say but Sam's videos, although never great, were interesting to watch due to some of the match ups. But now they have become the full Walmart version of actual quality car videos. *Unsubcribing to free up room for youtubers that actually try.
