@@dehavillandcanadatwinotter9621 so you think ha-Seong Kim and kerel MARTE are better than ozzie albies😂. All star is huge disrespect when half those “elite” players didnt even make an all star roster😂
It's crazy that you don't believe Stott can be a good player in the long run, but thought the Mets could win the World Series at the start of the year.
@@christianhobbs3650not tryna be a hater cause I actually like stott but none of his stats project him to replicate this yr next yr. Kinda like andres giminez
@@MIKEY_585 I disagree man, first full season in the majors, hitting over 300, almost to 30 stolen bases (Jimenez has 58 career sb), plays a great second base, and possible on pace for a 300, maybe 20 hr, 35 sb season, I think he’s just a straight up baseball player, now he’ll never get to the acuna or any of those guys range, but definitely at least an all star second baseman
Arraez and Ozzi not being elite is honestly such a bad take, I get your a Mets fan but they’re VERY elite. Arraez is hitting 365 with very good defense and is lowkey carrying the marlins and even at. A slump he’s still excellent at hitting, while Ozzie is basically excellent at almost everything he does, the bias is insane bruh.
@@nolimit4484 my pony is if Marc has Altuve in elite and Arraez and Albies not Elite that’s silly. Same with Ketel. They’re all elite, but if you’re gonna have 2 elite and 2 not than that’s wrong lol. Altuve isn’t better than both of them IMO. but it’s my opinion.
@@adamporter1255 exactly lmao, nico is having a down year and m is still one of the best defenders in the league and above average defensively. Hoerner and Stott are 4 and 5 in second baseman war
Nico and stott are both atleast all star tier. Luis and Ozzie both should be elite as well. This year their is no way that hoernor and stott are on the same tier as mcneil and India. Not saying that McNeil and India aren’t solid but stott is arguably one of the best 3 Phillies hitters this year, and in a “down year” hoernor is also great. Although I’m pretty sure he put Alec bohm in average so it’s all relative. (please note this is coming from a Phillies fan and also I look dumb now as he moved India and McNeil down)
Also, if Atlanta is such a boombox why are opposing teams coming in and not putting up crazy numbers. We go on the road and still put up big numbers. He can hate on the Braves all he wants but if they keep up this pace, they will go down as one of the best teams ever in baseball. Got to get the World Series to hold that title proud .
Gimenez, Stott, Merrifield, Hoerner are ridiculous to hold from "all-star" and Luis Arraez should easily be elite.. Merrifield=2.2 WAR (113+ OPS) (162 war pace=3.2 WAR) Literally an allstar this year??? Gimenez= 3.3 WAR (162 war pace=4.7 WAR) Hoerner= 3.7 WAR (162 war pace=5.6 WAR) Stott= 3.8 WAR (113 OPS+) (162 war pace=5.6 WAR) Arraez= 4.4 WAR, 140 OPS+ at second, (162 war pace=6.4 WAR) hit .400 for 3 months??? If your hitting .400 for 3 months and have a 6.4 WAR, and arent "Elite" I dont know what is honestly.. Obviously WAR and OPS+ obviously isnt close to determining the sum of a players value, but I feel like these are just common sense lmfaoo
Put some respect on Whit. He adds alot of value to the Jay's. He hits for avg hes solid in the field and not to mention hes a absolute demon on the basepath. And hes been going crazy as of late. In July he slugged .622 hit 7 hrs and had 20 rbis. He 100% deserves to be in the AS tier
Hoerner should be a all star his defensive is a top 3 2nd baseman and then his hitting is insane may not be power but you can always count on him getting 1-2 hits per game great player needed for the cubs
Nico is 4th in war among second baseman in a down year. Idk how you can look at him and think he’s on the same level as andres gimenez or Brandon drury
Kim was terrible offensivly his 1st year, had a 73ops+ but even then he put above league average bWAR at 2.1 in just 117 games. His teammate's dumb decisions meant he got to play pretty much full-time last season and his barely above league average offence, 106ops+, paired with his defense gave him a 5.0 bWar making him one of the most valuable middle infielders last year. In fact he was so valuable that he took Tatis's job in the infield and made him move to the outfield. This years he's been good offensively, 134ops+, and has added base running with 27/33 in stolen bases, and oh I don't know does 2nd in mlb and 1st in the NL in bWAR at 5.9, yes even above acuna's 5.8, sound good? Glad you kept him in elite but it shouldn't have been a conversation after how good his year was last year and the fact that's been the most valuable player in the entire NL by bWAR.
Fr. They clearly haven’t watched him play. He leads the team in RBIs, has 9 homers, and almost is batting .280 as the #1 ranked defensive second baseman in the league this year
There's no way I'm watching you not put Albies in elite on my first monitor and as I look at my second monitor he hits a 420 foot BOMB against the Mets.
I love that the same day Marc posted this video, Ozzie and Braves absolutely destroyed the Mets and then Ozzie said in an interview that they take pleasure in beating them
Bro the Hate against Arraez is deep!! Back to Back batting Champ, super clutch, and his defense is very good. Maybe the metrics don’t show it, but seen him play every day, he makes all the plays and then some. Definitely an ELITE second baseman.
Stott is a former first round pick who in his second year is hitting over 300 and has been the Phillies best player on a team filled with amazing players, having him in solid and saying you don’t think he’s that good of a player is why I will never take what you say serious anymore🤣
Ozzie Albies ranks among all 2nd basemen… HRs: 1st RBIs: 1st SLG: 1st Runs: 2nd OPS: 3rd Hits: 5th He’s also a 3 time all star and 2 time silver slugger. And yet he’s not an elite 2nd basemen???
You won't find anyone that loves HSK more than me, but come on; If HSK is elite then Ozzie Albies, Marcus Semien, and Altuve all need to be on their own tier above elite. Literally the three best second baseman in baseball right now. Also, how come when it comes to Ozzie defense all of a sudden plays a big part of him not being elite? Even though in other rankings its usually "I don't care about how bad defensively he is, he hits at an elite level." Because Ozzie is doing exactly that, while playing AT LEAST average defense. We all know Ozzie is better than average defensively, this season has just been weird because of the shift restrictions. Even gold glovers are having a weird defensive season.
Are you insane? Bryson Stott "isn't a good player" is one of the worst takes I've ever seen. He hits to all fields, is great defensively and has some pop. Not only is he bordering on elite, he's gonna win a batting title or two by the time he's 30
Brandon Drury's been a really good defensive 2B for the Angels this season actually, feels like people just think the opposite because he's always been more known for his bat. Dude is just really underrated overall.
This video didn’t age very well 🤣 As of this comment: OZZIE ALBIES HIT A HOME RUN TO THE SECOND DECK OF RIGHT FIELD AT CITI FIELD!!!!! Ozzie has homered in both games of today’s doubleheader!!!
Wong has made 52 million dollars over 10 years as a league average bat who has put up 22 bWAR with his glove alone so probably doesn't care about your complete and utter disrespect.
yea thairo as a giants fan is really really promising for the future. He was hitting at a allstar level until he got injured he has struggled a bit to come back but he is the full package. He will be a allstar next year guaranteed
@@fatdingo8251 Altuve said Albies was better than he was as player a few years back. I didn’t agree at the time but I think Albies may be better than Jose now
Turang is at least average, even though he was struggling early on, he's been hitting well recently and his defense has always been amazing, he has a chance to win a gold glove this year and this is if first year.
ozzie has been awesome his entire career defensively but you wanna use one down year to condemn him just to make an argument lmao he’s significantly better than every other player in the all star tier
Of course a mets fan can’t see that Stott: Leads MLB in two strike hits Sees a fuck ton of pitches Knows the strike zone Plays GG caliber defense at 2B Bats over .300 Marc, all is forgiven when you give him the Chase Utley comp
Your arguement for ozzie albies was absolutely unreal. Wrc plus doesn't matter when you hot 28 hrs and 80 rbis. He produxes.more then the whole Mets team.
Putting stott in solid is criminal and debating whether Gleyber is solid or all star is criminal too. He’s literally the 2nd-3rd best second baseman in the AL while being one of the most consistent
Gorman has 24 homers, also in regards to his defense it looks way better watching it. It’s a little raw at times given he’s a third basemen by trade but he has made some incredibly plays at second this year
@@CardsFan6969 yeah that will happen with time, his K rate is lower than last year and he’s hitting for more power. He’s 23 after all, plate discipline is one of those skills that you learn with age
i have to hear ur reasoning on the stott hate bc it honestly makes no sense with how amazing he’s been at hitting the ball hard stealing bags and playing solid defense
Although I see the logic with Ozzie, I think merely quoting WrC+ to discredit his great stats is just wrong. If you’re gonna call Atlanta a hit box, then you have to apply that to Riley and Acunia, and just because his defense is average, doesn’t mean he’s bad. Like bengal pointed out, he’s basically a backwards Lindor, and you’ll call Lindor elite, soooooo…… great vid btw
@@ChrisSlowbowSemien is most definitely better, Kim is also better, and Altuve as well. If you wanna rank him around 5 that’s fine but those guys are all better
I know this is your Mets bias but if Mookie Betts is in the elite tier on the second baseman tier list but he has next to nothing defensively at second base so therefore I rest my case for Ozzie Albies to be elite because he does have the good offensive stats
Jonathan India is a borderline all star second baseman. If Nolan Gorman is all star than so is he. And Arraez is elite. No one else in the league does what he does.
I’m starting to think Marc has a Jays bias. Whit is much better than solid tier. He is hitting .300 with tons of doubles, not massive HR hitter but nothing to scoff at, 20 SB, above average defense both 2B and LF. He’s been massive for the Jays and as always you’re undervaluing this teams players
So on the topic of Ozzie Albies; I’ve read plenty about advanced metrics, I understand the Utility and use of them. To that end, devaluing someone’s counting stars because you don’t think someone’s metrics are elite feels like a really weird use of metrics. Like why when someone has great counting stars but decent metrics, every constantly harps on them falling off, but when someone has bad counting stats but good metrics they’re given they’re given so many chances to break out? It’s overcomplicating a very simple fact that Ozzie Albies is an excellent baseball player
your friend was trying to open your eyes from your mets bias and you still managed to bring up one stat that ozzie albies isnt top 5 in that matters and managed to put the second string all star second baseman for the national league, wouldve been the starter if luis arraez wasnt making history, and even after all of that he is still the most overrated player? open your eyes mark, hes better than literally anybody on the mets
So Araez was top 5 in NL MVP voting for two months this year and he’s only an all star caliber 2B? Also I’m getting tired of the Jonathan India disrespect. He’s a club house leader with solid power, speed and was leading the league in runs for a good portion of the year this year.
Why have Kolten Wong on the list? Everybody knows he’s hasn’t played much and was released so they should’ve had Jose Caballeroas a second baseman for the Mariners and I would put him in the solid category Adam Frazier should be in the solid category. Quite a few players you got rated in a solid category have very similar stats to Adam Frazier, so either you need to move out of freezer up the solid, or you have to move a whole bunch of people down to average
In terms of Stott, you’re definitely letting your bias hurt him. He’s a good fielder with sneaky pop, good speed, and great bat to ball skills. Last year was his rookie season, but after working on his game he’s much better than solid. Not elite, but I would put him at the top end of solid to borderline all star. I think he’s gonna be an all star soon.
If you wanna put Kim in elite solely for defense, then you kinda have to put Ozzie in elite solely for offense. And putting Marte and Kim ahead would f Ozzie And Arraez is criminal… But a Mets fan showing anti Braves bias, I shouldn’t be surprised 😂😂😂
