@JomezPro it would be a cool additional video to have a couple of known course designers go into some detail about their philosophies when designing, maybe how courses have changed over the years, and what new players are asking for on existing courses modern day. A lot of individual players have touched on some of these topics on their channels, ie. raised baskets, or courses that require "some amount of luck" for the birdie vs those that you can absolutely attain with an appropriate shot, punishing greens, level of manicure off fairways, etc. A series or videos even, that had interviews with each course designer for the specific courses on tour(like this is what I was thinking when I built this out in this style) gives you guys more content than just a general video about course design more broadly.

Hole 9 I could see being too hard of a par 4 but too soft as a 5, so move the pad back a bit and give the course it's first par 5, maybe 2 lanes cut like WR Jackson, it'd play tough but offer scoring separation. 2nd idea is to make 12 a par 5, . The hole shape and last hill are very unique and fantastic features on that hole, so keep those as is. But put a teepad back in the woods where the walk between hole 11 & 12 is now, it has a beautiful stand of woods that would offer a daunting tee shot through those woods out toward the open landing zone, depending on how far back you set that new pad there's room for a par 5 if it's on the course property. Just a few spots I noticed when I was there to stretch it out and get the 5's the tour players are saying is missing from this amazing place

Hole 9 really is a par 5 hole, regardless of its par rating. Given that the 72 best players in the world averaged 4.75 on the hole, and out of that entire field, only 1 person (Aaron Gossage) got a birdie on it. I don't hate the design of the hole. I think it's not rated properly for it's design and difficulty for the field.

Yeah, it'd be nice to see him finally pull of a win considering how much it seems he deserves it. He's consistently near the top almost every tournament (for a while now), meanwhile there are guys like Parker Welck who won DDO and that's literally the only tournament he's ever been featured on any coverage (lead or chase card). Wild

Jeremy, try drinking brocolli sprout shake and look into cadence breathing. I used to mispeak and stammer all the time up until I ran into those two things. My mind is sharper and just feel overall better. Might even help with your game too ;)

This is such a good and interesting course! A good variety in hole designs, and a great challenge for the players. One round here gave me more enjoyment than three rounds at the boring main course at Worlds!

If Calvin's drive on 14 landed in bounds then rolled OB, why did he have to go to the drop zone?

The rule is just anything off the Tee OB goes to drop zone, doesnt matter how it gets there. If someones drives in bounds then there second shot putt goes OB then you dont go to drop zone

Some holes the caddy book will denote that ANY OB goes to drop zone. Just depends on how the TD sets up the tourney

Yea it's a goofy OB rule. It should be drop zone only if you never cleared in bounds over the water. Imagine hitting the koozie and bouncing into the water and being left with a dz death putt instead of playing it from the bullseye where it went in.

Bad putts usually cost you one stroke but they can also roll and go OB causing 3 strokes lost. Calvin really has to dial those in

I'm a 300-350 guy and that's enough for most average Joe courses. Focus on accuracy rather than distance.

My home course has 430+ ft par 3's so that 300-350 doesnt work here :/ I am noticing a lot more AMs throwing 450+ nowadays because so many freak athletes are finding disc golf at a young age. Multiple guys on my college team threw 500+ ft. Its insane now

I've gotten a ton of extra distance the last year and have improved my pb on my home course by 7. Makes a huge difference. Then I went to another course I don't know, and played like +8 strokes of what I normally do - accuracy got me hard. Distance raises potential, accuracy raises scores.

It is seriously bizarre hearing the commentators speculate about Isaac Robinson’s distance capabilities on hole 10, and being so clueless. Guys, you literally have one job here, it’s not hard to know these things. For reference, Isaac throws in the high 60s, and has thrown as fast as 69 mph on camera. He has incredible form, throws with perfect biomechanical leverage, and he’s deadly accurate. Yes, that’s not elite power, as the Paul and Jeremy explain. But it’s not bottom tier either, and it’s enough to throw a disc 550 or farther with proper shaping. For reference, Ella Hansen threw 552 feet at the USDGC distance event last year, and she did that with a 66 MPH drive. She may have had a slightly prevailing tail wind for this, but you can throw over 500 feet in calm conditions with a 66 MPH drive. Do better guys.

Wow, and just a few seconds after the discussion of Isaac’s speed, Jeremy says Ricky Wysocki can match anyone in tour in distance but Barella, and that Barella throws 91 MPH. Both statements are utterly false, just made up out of whole cloth. Many modern players can throw faster and farther than Ricky, even some who aren’t on tour. If you have no idea what you’re talking about, why even say it?

Hes my favorite commentator on Jomez for sure. But Koling only had success before disc golf exploded with talent. The NFL has been full of talent forever and Ginn played in the league for 13 years.

I dont think there is a single pro disc golfer in the history of the sport that could play in the NFL. Im certain there are plenty of NFL players that could have become top level disc golfers. The competition level isn't comparable.
