The Fiji National Disaster Management Office (NDMO), with the support of our generous partners and the relevant stakeholders successfully conducted the 2023 National Disaster Awareness Week (NDAW) from 17 - 18 October, 2023.
The Fiji NDMO is mandated under the Natural Disaster Management Act 1998 to hold the NDAW annually. This year's event has been nothing short of a remarkable success, and we couldn't be prouder of our united efforts in fostering a culture of disaster preparedness.
Throughout this year's event, we not only educated our fellow citizens about the critical importance of disaster preparedness through our traditional Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Exhibition, but we also took it up a notch by showcasing our impressive local capabilities in the National Simulation Exercise.
The National Simulation Exercise was a game-changer, drawing participation from our friends in the region and our international partners.
We'd like to extend a massive THANK YOU to all the dedicated individuals, organisations, our stakeholders, all donor partners, and our amazing community who made NDAW 2023 a resounding success.
