Love the new Frontier and I'm probably picking one up in the next year or so. One gripe I have is that it has no telescoping steering wheel. That's kind of crazy for a 2023 vehicle. Even a Versa gets a telescoping steering wheel.
Had a Tacoma that did the same thing. Just throw it in manual shift mode and keep it in 4th gear or something. Keep the adaptive cruise control on and it wont downshift as much. Once you crest over the hill throw it back to auto
@@beexiong2995 these v6 are underpowered.. trans has to downshift often to get that torque to maintain speed... that's why cruise control sucks.. get the new turbo engines to get good cruise control.
I love when cruise control keeps speed that’s what it’s supposed to do . If you want to fluctuate your speed don’t use cruise control my only complaint about Nissan is the turning radius which I feel they should have fixed by now .
Haha, I mean, you're not wrong. What I mean really is that I don't need the cruise to be so violently aggressive that it's killing my gas mileage because the speed dropped one or two miles per hour. The turning radius is pretty bad. I've basically just learned to drive around it and it's not too bad once you're aware of it, but it's still annoying for sure.
i had that same problem with my cruise control in my 2nd gen tacoma. I feel like it has to do with the engine being underpowered... maybe turbo 4 cylinder isn't so bad afterall.
Great input. I love my ‘22 Pro-4X. I too added 1.5” spacers to push the wheels out a little, and it’s on a 2” lift. I agree about the aggressiveness of the cruise, but otherwise I’ve been super happy with the truck.
OMG that adaptive cruise control!! The Frontier forums are blown up about how these trucks will rev the engine to 5000+ rpm to go up hills that aren't even very steep. I really do hope Nissan fixes this with a software update. Apart from that, I love my '22 Pro 4X. Great video, keep up the good work!
Haha, the first time I hit a slight hill I was actually talking out loud to the truck like "What the hell are you doing?!?!" It's a bit aggressive, lol.
What are ways to counter it? Mine is doing the same thing! I dislike it. It makes me not want to use cruise control. I do highway driving a lot. And the ups and downs make it rev like crazy. It’s not a smooth feeling, makes me feel like it’s spending more gas than it should, and it doesn’t feel natural
@@michaelrocha4282 I've heard from a few folks that there is a computer flash that the dealership can do that helps with it. For now, I've just been kicking off the cruise when I see a hill coming up, I manually keep it where I want it and then reengage it once I'm over the hill.
@@michaelrocha4282 Try putting your transmission in M8 or M9. It will still downshift, but not as aggressively. It doesn't completely cure the problem, but I've found it helps.
Totally agree with you. Something else I find annoying/dislike is the placement of the 4x4 controls. They are too out of the way and hard to see. Would like to have them in the headliner console instead or at least more central in the dash. I'm glad im not the only one that holds these opinions. Keep up the great content!
I have less problems with the 4x4 controls and more problem with the push button start being slightly behind the steering wheel, haha. I'm always leaning over looking for it. Still getting used to not using a key like in my 2nd gen. Appreciate the comment and you watching!
The start button is a hidden gem! It is strange how the little details that are major interaction points can get lost in the design phase. Same as you though over all really impressed and happy with the truck.
Agree almost 100%. My 2022 doesn't go in the garage so I missed that it doesn't have integrated garage door openers. I complain about the turning radius all the time but wouldn't sacrifice it for the hydraulic steering feel, just takes a bit to get adapted to it. A telescoping steering wheel would be a very welcome upgrade.
I've been going back and forth about buying this truck for a year. I've owned two 2nd gen Frontiers and loved them, and I mostly like this redesign, but Nissan definitely fell short in a few areas... the cameras are crap, no telescoping steering wheel, no seat bottom adjustment, halogen lighting on SV long bed (a $40k truck!), etc. They clearly went to the 'parts bin' in order to cut development costs, which is disappointing given how expensive this thing is. The good news is that you can get pretty nice discounts on the Pro4x now and I expect deals to get even better as demand continues to drop. Currently, $2k discounts are everywhere, but if I can get $4k discount on a Pro4x Premium, I might take the leap at the end of 2023.
Yep, if you can wait the prices should come down. My timing worked out when I bought this but I basically paid MSRP. Good luck whenever you decide to jump in!
That would be awesome!! Back in the 90's if you had a Pathfinder, you had a very capable off-road vehicle. Hopefully we'll see a modern version of that sometime soon!
I bought a 23 frontier pro 4x I think the adaptive cruise control is great. My biggest complaint is the turning radius. Mine does come with the garage door opener. Sunroof pretty much everything. I thought it was great value for what you get compared to the competitors.
@@robertmisiuk7137 Yeah, it seems to put a lot of people off. In the last 4 months or so, I've probably noticed it once or twice, but maybe I'm just not in those situations where it impacts me as much.
Hi, I like your videos because I don't often see Nissans in overlanding in the US. Anyway, I relate a bit because I daily and tour my Nissan Patrol Y61 in the Philippines. Keep going and more power to your channel!
I just traded in my 2019 Ram 2500 Laramie with the 6.4 HEMI for a new 2023 Pro 4X yesterday. Same as yours, Boulder Gray with cloth and no sunroof and I'm loving it so far. Only drove it around 25 miles yesterday from the dealership to my house. This thing rides like a Cadillac compared to my Ram... 🤣🤣
I was dead set on getting a pro 4x... But $55k here in Canada. Ram was giving away the 2022 trucks still left on lots. I got an $80k Ram 1500 for $60k, only 5k more than the frontier for a loaded full size. I tried 3 different Nissan dealers and the most they would move was $2k off a DEMO with 6000km.
Men I used to have a 2015 , a 2018 , which I sold by mistake, in a few months I should have a down payment for another frontier and I still going to go for a 2019 year , I know that it is the old body style but even if the new gen looks bad ass still got that love for the old gem !!!
I’ve still got my Titan swapped second gen on 35’s so I couldn’t agree more. They’re fantastic trucks! I really just wanted something newer so that I could really travel and explore without having to worry about anything (old truck runs great but does have 218k on it.
I agree the cruise has no chill, but you can make it smoother by applying throttle with cruise on. You can catch it before it drops all those gears and smooth it out for a slower gain in speed on hills or when traffic slows you down.
Nobody ever says they wish there were a 4 door 6 foot bed option or complains about the tiny gas tank. I do like the new Nissans, hope they really take off.
I am normally a ford customer but I have been seriously considering the frontier. however, it seems that most things about the truck are just passable. The cameras, the potential for carbon buildup, some people say the paint is thin, the old steering wheel, and the turning radius all potential issues. I have a f250 but was considering smaller trucks for daily drivers and have a little fun with. I like the idea of the naturally aspirated engine and the possibility of going king cab as we are about to be empty nesters but it seems like with a new ranger and Tacoma coming out as well as the tech in the Colorado that the Nissan is pretty far behind. especially when a pro4x MSRP is pretty close to what the other brands MSRP is when I build one out. unless there's some major discounts this month, it'll make more sense to wait it out and see if pricing drops more when the other brands bring out their new gen trucks.
Yeah, I think your points are totally valid. Honestly, I think a lot of the complaints are people being whiney but I'm planning to run my new Frontier for about 10-12 years.
I picked up a loaded one 2 months ago. My first desire was to get a RAM, specifically the warlock edition. Looked into it a bit and the 1500s weren’t doing so well apparently. 2nd choice was a Silverado but it would’ve been 10-14k more. The frontier was the best deal/choice for what I wanted. It’s my first truck and first splurge to get reasonably what I wanted. In a few years who knows I might trade up for more power but for now it’s great
Nice! Glad it worked out for you! I have a couple of buddies with Power Wagons and those things are nice and pretty capable, but yeah, they're pretty pricey.
I definitely agree with the cruise control. I just drove mine from cali to Arkansas and back. Left it off for most of the trip. Super aggressive and annoying. Other than that, it's a great truck
Yeah, these trucks haven't been the best on gas mileage for a while, but their solid trucks. I've been averaging around or a little over 20 MPG over the last 7K miles of having my 2023. I'm pretty happy with it compared to the old 5 speed in the old trucks.
Of the things you hate, the only one that is really an issue is the camera quality. The 9 speed has more overdrive gears. One of the issues with Nissan trucks is lack of ability for aftermarket parts. I do love the new Frontier.
The dealership loaned me a 2023 frontier sv as my 2023 Titan pro4x XD was getting its 8 day windshield replacement do to installed improperly from the factory. the mini truck was cool solid ride and you could do burnouts! My only two complaints would be the front seats the bolster distance was to narrow on the bottom cushions the second is needs more castor in the front suspension.
How does one become a Nissan fan? LOL. I am kidding. It is a good looking truck. I had an Exterra years ago which was a great offroad rig. However, I have had Jeeps now and everything else is just keeping up. lol. Keep up the great videos. I enjoy your content.
Appreciate it! As for how I became a Nissan fan, I’ve had Z’s, Infiniti sedans, trucks, and SUV’s from them and compared to all the other males I’ve owned, they’ve just been more fun and reliable so over the years, I’ve grown to love them. GT-R someday, 😀.
It's one of those things that just seems sort of needless. Like, people complain about the turning radius, but you can work around that. With the cruise, you literally have to shut it off anytime you hit a slight grade or especially a big hill and manually throttle it to keep it from dropping 5 gears for losing 3 MPH, haha.
@AllThingsOverlanding so true it is quite annoying and taxing on the drivetrain. It has no idea how much weight you are hauling or pulling as well so that can really load up the components.
Good comment about the Nissan frontier did hear a rumor that in 2024 the Nissan Xterra will be launched, and after that Nissan was talking about a warrior package on the Xterra and the frontier with them fully decked out for off roading 😊
About the cruise control auto pilot... I am a truck driver and my semi truck have a full automatic transmission with 13 speed. The main computer on the first 30 minutes driving the vehicle try to select the best gear ratio time to shift as it's learning everything from the pulling weight all way to the road if flat or hilly and the speed. So, my suggestion will be if possible try to get some payload on the bed of the truck and run for 30 min, then set on cruise control to see how the transmission will work. If you have the same result as driving the truck empty well you may be out luck because that will be absolute how the transmission manufacturer designed and programed everything. Now, if any difference between how the transmission works between empty and payliad driving, well... I would look to speak with somebody on the service department from the dealership. And for some people that may read my comment, I know we can't compare apples with pears but the technology used in almost all type if vehicles today are not so different from each other when performing the same task. Hope that may help you and good luck.
Good thoughts! Thanks for sharing! I've got quite a bit of stuff on the rear of the truck now (drawer system, RTT, bed rack, etc.) so I'm fairly loaded and it hasn't seemed to make much of a difference, so I fear that it's just the way it's programmed. I've gotten used to it and learned some work arounds (some people have commented that you can just shift it into manu-matic mode and it'll hold the gear you're in in cruise instead of shifting around so much).
@@AllThingsOverlanding That's a bit weird; about the way this transmission is working even because I don't want say that we can compare the semi truck mechanical design and purpose are the same as a pickup truck but to me something is not right. I am not saying your truck have a transmission problem but is always a possibility; my semi truck it's rate for a 80.000 lbs GVW with a load on a 53' trailer; I don't pickup nothing over 35.000 lbs of load and even when pulling less than that weight about 20.000 lbs going up a long 3% hill or greater as the semi starting to loose speed the transmission down shif 2 gears at time like from 13 to 11 to 9 and to 7, but after reach the 7th gear a will down shift one gear at time if need. On a semi truck with a manual transmission the high point on the rpm to up shift gear is 1500 on an automatic transmission is between 1800 to 2000 rpm's. So, when the transmission in my truck select the gear disregard which one it is a will shift up once reach a 1500 rpm or hold that gear until reach between 1800 to 2000 rpm until shift a gear up if the vehicle have gain speed enough for that with the cruise control auto pilot on and engaged. So, the transmission in your vehicle should not try to shift gears going up hill if not necessary, should be sturd until the vehicle gain speed enough to up shift gear again. I guess my best idea to offer you jyst to put an easy on your mind about that would be rent out another truck with the same engine displacement for a day and test drive to see if the transmission will perform like the one on your truck. And if you decide to do that I will really appreciate if you could let me know what was the result. Thanks for your reply back on my inicial comment and good luck.
@@gutto7952 No problem and thanks! I know that a lot of other folks with the same truck have commented on this video saying their trucks also aggressively shift even on slight inclines so it seems to be a common issue of the programming of the cruise. 🥲
Yeah, keep in mind that I'm obviously biased. I've had probably 10 or 12 Nissans over the last 20 years, but man, they are just such solid contenders in this class. Way overlooked an underestimated, mostly because of simple stuff like not having ALL the fancy gadgets and tech or being simpler from an engine and transmission stand point. But, for your dollars, you're getting a dead reliable, sturdy, well built truck that will last a lot longer than most of the domestic alternatives and you don't see them nearly as much as Tacomas, :D.
The cruise control is smother resuming speed when Tow Mode activated. Regarding the garage opener in the mirror I bought the Frameless mirror, but in my opinion, opening with CarPlay is way better.
I have the exact same truck. 8,800 miles on it. The cruise control seems to be learning to not downshift to hell on a slight incline. Putting it in manual mode in 9th gear on long drives helps also. Mine came with the garage buttons on the mirror... But I noticed you have the auto start stop feature, my 23 P4x did not have that (bought Nov. 22)
@@AllThingsOverlanding I actually went to the dealer to have the transmission pawl pin issue fixed (the tranny recall), but I was lucky and didn't need that (issue was corrected in factory) ... and just had the software update.
Yes you do get the homelink mirror on the top trim however, i had my dealer through in the frameless photochromic mirror with homelink remote. Also get a different software version on the BCM and you get remote windows and we don't on our trim. Sucks because I didn't want a sunroof.
That's smart! I also didn't want to pay almost $3K for just leather and a sunroof that I didn't really need. I can live without homelink, but it just seems like such a small thing to not include as standard, especially on the Pro-4X trim.
please make more vids on this Frontier, im hoping to buy one wiwtin the next few months , Saw a 23 4X4, fully loaded about 50 G though , im hoping for a good intrest rate hopefully
I disagree completely about the camera quality. The fact that it looks as decent as it does thru the recording of it that you are taking here is proof enough that it's at least plenty decent to be useful.
I definitely see what you’re saying that it’s useful and better than nothing. It’s tough because there are so many cars with cameras now and when you compare other vehicles’ cameras to these in the Frontier, that’s when you see how bad they are. My wife had a 2017 Honda Pilot and her cameras are way clearer than my 2023.
I have a 2022 sv and agree they need to fine tune the cruise control so it doesn't down shift so much. I also don't like how the rear seat moves every time you get in and out of the truck.
@@karlcoger5982 Huh, that's weird. Like, the motors run and move it? That might be a warrantable issue that the dealer could/should fix under warranty.
@@karlcoger5982 Ahh, got it. Wonder if there's some way to cover it, haha. Pretty sure all vehicles with power seats allow them to move even when the vehicle's off so that you could move the seats if you needed to access things or wanted to change your seating position, but maybe there's a way to avoid that.
My 2023 Pro-4X has the Homelink buttons on the underside of the rearview mirror. Perhaps the Homelink mirror is available as a replacement part, and you can add it to your truck. I had an ‘02 Dodge Ram that didn’t have Homelink until I got an overhead console with it on eBay and swapped it out. So far one of my biggest complaints is that the turning radius sucks, and when I have the steering wheel cranked all the way to either side I can even hear the front tires rubbing on something. This is with the original tires, as my truck only has 5200 miles on it. My #1 gripe is that you can’t turn off the rear parking sensors without them automatically turning back on whenever you change gears. This is a huge problem when trying to back a trailer up. I get that there’s a button right on the dash in front of the shifter to disable them, but when you’re backing a trailer up sometimes you have to pull forward to make corrections, and if you don’t hit the button again, the truck thinks you’re going to hit the trailer and it beeps like crazy and slams on the brakes. My neighbor watched me back a trailer into my driveway and asked me what the heck was wrong, and if I needed any help, even though he saw me back a trailer in just fine a hundred times with my old ‘05 Chevy Colorado.
Yeah, the tech sensors are super annoying. I really wanted one without them, but could not find one. I don't tow a lot, so I have less of that issue, but I could see how annoying that would be with a trailer.
I intend to pick one of these up next summer. Coming from a 2015 Mitsubishi mirage with no cruise, back up camera or really any modern amenities this thing will seem futuristic to me 😅
I had 2017 Tacoma and the cruise control did the same exact thing. Highly annoying. It sounded like the engine was going come through the hood. I live in Missouri with the hills. You couldn’t go 2-3 miles and the engine would start screaming. Traded it for full size truck. Problem solved. Your other two dislikes, I’m gonna have to say, come on, really? It doesn’t have a good camera?🙄. I’ve never once used the homelink. That’s what garage door openers are for. Double 🙄🙄
Haha, I said that there wasn’t a lot to dislike about it! And because of the bigger bulkier hood than the previous gen‘s the cameras get a lot more used so the quality being bad makes usability pretty reduced. Just seems weird that on a 2023 truck they would use such poor quality cameras.
Absolutely hate the camera as well, I’ve read forums where maybe it could be the processor for the camera due to the chip shortages, but who knows, another thing that I am starting to not like about the truck is the suspension, I feel like it’s way too stiff sometimes but that could just be me, I plan on doing a titan swap with the fox shocks, the kit is around $3200, it’s should lift the truck 3-4 inches according to them.
That's a great lift (you're talking about the All Dogs Offroad one?). I was thinking about it, but since the truck is so new, I just went with the RC Killa lift from them to keep the stock shocks until they wear out while getting a couple inches of lift. I kind of feel like the suspension is sort of soft for a stock 4x4, but like you said, who knows. It's just what we're used to.
after owning one for a year: cons 15L/100km poor camera quality really bad turning radius pros The design inside and out very quiet interior, no real bad road noise until you hit 100km + 4x4 feels super capable. Turn it on and your problems are solved.
I have a 2013 Nissan Frontier SL and the front passenger seat folds totally flat for sleeping. Not sure if it's because the passenger seat is electric in the SL or not. Do you know if any of the Third Gens do this? This is how I plan on sleeping in the new Frontier if it's possible. I'm just getting into overlanding and your videos have been very helpful. So a big thank you.
I think that was a function of the higher trim trucks? Maybe Pro-4x or up trims? I don't know if the third gens do it but I could try to give it a shot to see how far the passenger seat would go! I'll try to report back once I get a chance to try it.
I've got a '20, which has the 3.8L and 9spd. I live in So. California. I haven't gotten the software update for the transmission. But I haven't had that issue and there are hills all over the place. Hopefully it's a cruise control thing and not the transmission as I'm going to get the transmission software update soon. Even without the software update, I, too, find the transmission buttery smooth. Traveling up the 395 I got almost 24 MPG. Around town I get 17 (stock tires at the moment still). The interior of thew new model certainly is nice. but I find that the exterior looks like the combination of a Tacoma and Chevy 1500. I'm still on the fence about it.
Agreed on the transmission. Aside from the crazy cruise control, I really like the 9 speed and the 3.8. I think it's a CC thing and not the transmission, personally. I really like the interior of the new ones. I feel like they did a good job of upgrading it without it losing the "truck like feeling" that the old ones have. It's a nicer place to be, but not so nice that it feels like a luxury car (or costs $50-70K).
I agree with the cameras, they should have upgraded the cameras a few years ago ( I’ve had 3 Titans and now a 22 Front Pro4) poor quality! I’ve got no issue with the cruise as I’m pretty much flat road driving ( but I’ve heard there is a software fix) Main thing I really hate is the safety system when reversing with a trailer! You need to go in and disable the system or it jams on the brake thinking there is something you’re going to hit! If I have my truck in Tow Mode it should automatically disable the rear safety braking. It’s a real pain when I’m trying to back into a site and I forget to disable it then is jamming on the breaks causing traffic to wait while I fumble through the system trying to find how to disable it!! Fix this Nissan!!
Since I'm in the midwest, I haven't had issues with the cruise until I headed way west. The back up sensors are pretty crazy. When I first got the truck, I had my tailgate down and I was backing up and it kept jamming on the brakes and I was like "Damn it, stop!" Then I quickly figured out where the parking sensor disable button was.
Super minor grievances. Granted I’ve owned 21 year old and 10 year old suvs. Having said that, as I was building out a frontier today. I hated how you can’t add a tow package to the pro4x premium package - ridiculous that you have to down grade to get a towing option. Still a beautiful, dependable, and streamlined truck. Happy trails and excited to see your build
I do, but they’re my kids, so they aren’t exactly full-size. I think the seats are comfortable, but there isn’t a ton of legroom back there. I’ve had the kids in the backseat though for probably a four or five hour trip and no complaints. If you’re a full-size adult, it might not be quite as comfortable. But again it’s a midsize truck.
Yeah, the thing is though that compared to a lot of other competitors, if you went with the bigger tires/lift option from the factory, you're going to pay an arm and a leg. If you want the warranty though and don't want to have to install parts yourself, that makes perfect sense, but I was fine buying the truck for a significant savings over a comparable Toyota and then just modding it myself for much less. But, agree that I wish the Pro-4X had more "performance mods" than just the locking rear diff and light duty armor.
I used to have a 07’ crew cab frontier. One of the things i disliked on it compared to my 09 Taco was the turning radius was awful. Really weird how wide it was compared to just about every other vehicle. Is the new one much better when it comes to the turning radius?
I've got a basic 2024 2wd Frontier SV with cruise control and do not have ACC and I live in mountainous east Tennessee and my truck doesn't seem to over rev going up hill, it maintains the speed limit pretty well which is what CC is supposed to do isn't it? I went from a Honda Insight with ACC to a Frontier and I miss it on the Nissan.
Yep, that's what it's supposed to do, haha. I recently had the TSB done for the transmission flash and it's night and day. Fixes everything and makes it function the way you would expect.
Spot on. The cruise control on my 2023 Pro4X is mind numbing. Whoever designed it is a complete moron. The cameras are functional but they are so much lower in quality than nearly every other vehicle brand. It makes no sense at all. People have complained about Nissan cameras for years. The could spend $100.00 more and put good cameras on these trucks. I have the top version of the Pro4X and it has Homelink.
Exactly. I love Nissan so much but after years of hearing the same simple things over and over, I just wish they would listen to us, 😀. We can overcome these few simple things to turn a solid entry in the segment into a leader! Also, now that all the new Toyota, Chevy, and Ford trucks have been announced, Nissan is pretty much the last one standing with an NA V6 which I think it a plus from a reliability and longevity standpoint. Guess we’ll see what happens!
@@AllThingsOverlanding I would think the cruise control issue could be corrected with a computer update. Maybe they will do this if enough people complain. The vast majority of the vehicles I have owned didn’t have any cameras so I can live with the crappy cameras. It’s just short-sighted on Nissan’s part to use such low quality cameras. Overall, the truck is great. I owned a 2005 Titan and a 2018 Titan before this and they all had technological shortcomings compared to the competition but they all ran without any problems and I like Nissan seats. I couldn’t get myself to feel good about the turbo 4 cylinders the others are offering. Plus, I got my 2023 Pro4X Premium Package with a 3” Lift for $48k and even though this isn’t pocket change, it’s quite a bit less than what I was seeing for other brands.
Nissan as a company doesn’t have any better quality rep, if not worse than the Chevys or Fords so that argument is a wash. I tried the Frontier Pro4X and Tacoma TRD Sport a few days ago. The Pro4X was definitely quicker than the TRD but I found seats not very comfortable. The stretched out position was better for me in the Taco. Cabin looks nice, screen looks good but the camera is terrible. Kinda a waste of that good resolution. The big plus for me is that it’s one of 2 remaining choices with a 6ft bed in a crew cab model.
Agree to disagree. I’ve owned them all and know a lot of people with Fords and chevys with serious issues (trans, engine, etc) but have had probably 12-15 Nissans with few if any problems. As for comfort, that’ll be something that everyone decides for themselves and same for seating position. Of course, though, everyone’s going to have their own opinions about all midsize trucks so it just comes down to what you’re comfortable with.
You have to put your foot on the brake and hit the start button to get the engine to actually run to drive the truck. Must be a safety thing because all vehicles I've had with remote start work like that.
@AllThingsOverlanding my Tacoma stops after you open the door. I'm thinking how stupid. Your 20 degrees outside or colder and you've had the engine running for a few minutes from the remote starting it so you would a have warm vehicle or defrost all the windows. Then you open the doors and the engine shuts off. I was wondering if the Frontier did the same thing or if it was just Toyota.
Back seats in all mid size trucks are a joke. Pretty worthless. Manufacturers need to make available more 6 foot beds with extended cabs. If they made a Pro4x king cab long bed, I would buy one.
Surprisingly too, the Frontiers have more configurations that pretty much all of their competitors. I was pretty surprised, but most manufacturers seem to be standardizing just a few set ups that they think will sell best and then just saying "too bad" to everyone else that wants or needs a different configuration than the 2 or 3 they offer.
@@AllThingsOverlanding I'm getting a 2024 mid-sized. But I want a 6 foot bed and don't want a turbo 4 cylinder engine that I fear won't make it to 100,000 miles. I have ONE choice. Frontier S or SV.
@AllThingsOverlanding I changed all the settings on the self adjusting volume to its lowest setting, however the system still won't let me listen to loud music, it just lowers itself down
Yeah well... i mean i drive an old 99 sonoma sls... and i dont have almost any of that. And an cassette radio.😅 so even those "bad" things arnt bad at all. Lol.
I mean, I like a 6" lift as much as the next guy but for the broad market, most people would hate getting up into that truck. The new trucks do look pretty low, but real world clearance between the bottom of the armor and the ground is the same as the Tacoma TRD Pro (which got a small lift over the stock Tacoma height) so it's technically as tall already as the top trim offroad version of the Tacoma. I threw a 1.5/2" lift on mine (RC Killa kit from All Dogs Offroad) and for me, that made it pretty much perfect and it fits 33's with some relatively slight modifications (I also have 1" spacers which are most of the issue with rubbing, not the height or tire size).
Pushing the Cruise "on" button and holding it will enable standard cruise control. Standard cruise control works much better than the adaptive does. And agree, camera quality sucks, still usable but sucks. Also see your "Auto on/off". Thank God I got mine before they started putting that on. You do get home link on one of the packages. I have it on mine but I don't have a garage. lol
lmao you think you have a higher percentage chance of having a problem with a Colorado or Ranger when the TACOMA was rated "least reliable midsize truck" by Consumer Reports for like 3 or 4 years in a row after the 3rd gen was relased? Your personal perception is toally disconnected from reality "my dude". - owner of Nissan trucks/suv's from 1992 to 2006
Yeah, it’s my opinion but after 25 years of owning probably 30 vehicles plus a long list of friends who have owned a number of misc. vehicles, a pretty clear pattern has emerged. I’m not bashing the Ford or the Chevy and I think they’ve got a lot of nice features but unless I was leasing it and could turn it back in after a few years, I wouldn’t want to own one, my dude.
Haha, us Nissan guys have pretty much never had a front locker and we've been fine without it. ZR2's are nice trucks, but they're more expensive and (sorry, my opinion here) less reliable. SORRY! :D
You have a off-road orientated truck.... and your complaining about camera quality..... Nissan Frontiers are known for being solid and reliable trucks. One thing that help you achieve that is applying K.I.S.S. to the design. Don't ask them to over complicate and make it ultra sensitive. The hard body and 2nd Gen frontier are legends for being tough and reliable. Hopefully they did the same with the 3rd gen. If you want all the luxury gadgets, buy a G-wagon. As a fan of your channel and of Nissan trucks for over 30 years. I respectfully disagree. As far as the cruise control, i agree with you. In fact if these are your biggest complaints, then that says allot about how good this new truck is.
@@ericalto22Exactly. It's a great truck for an "inexpensive" price. I bought mine in 2018 for 31,500 brand new. In 5 years it's gone up well over 10 grand. Insane.
In a small truck cab, I've never had any issues with that, but I'm sure there are always things people want that don't get included as standard equipment.
@@AllThingsOverlanding I get that, but the inflated over Prices of Today Destroyed any Good will.. ' REAR AIR VENTS in the desert is more important for cool air rear wise than heat in winter..
@@AllThingsOverlanding yes it does.. again the stupidity of the Prices and the way "millennialism " a vile mental disorder that transcends age groups " all act if Price isn't real.. " But I want it ".. The Frontier " WAS never engineered to Be a 50,000-dollar truck , no rear air vents is a Cost cutting move, not a " Lexus Lux item.. a Lot of stupidity out there these days..
