Hii! I am using several as well. I have the cousin, 2 different weeks, a travellers journal, a budget planner, a language planner pocket size and a social media planner with Midori graph notebook. I just posted 2 of my set ups if you are interest in seeing how I set up mines :)
Do you ever think about what you will do with all of your archives in the future? I like to imagine myself in like 50 years looking back on all my archives. I have kids and I do memory planning for them. I like to think about the day that they maybe give their childhood memory planners to their own grown children and them passing them on to their own grown children one day. Memory keeping is so important. Thank you for providing inspiration to others to do their own archiving and enjoy the creativity ❤
thanks for watching! I'm not quite sure - they're sort of my version of a scrap book and I think they'll be fun to flip through in the future for sure. I am slightly worried they're going to take over a whole portion of my house if I'm not careful lol
Thank you for sharing your thinking! Thinking about the passport TN for every day, standard TN for journaling and travel because I can easily add the travel insert when needed and since they are more personal, I can leave that TN home. I love the TNs because they are so flexible in the ability to take out and/or add inserts. I think I will just buy two new covers (one of each since I only have the two and nothing to switch out of when I get bored. I don’t like to feel stuck in something). I too was a little all over the place this year with my planning but have decided that the passport size is the best for me for everyday. Best of luck in productive in 2023! I look forward to seeing how it goes for you. Thanks again!
Thank you for this. I am bad at planner jumping too. I have Hobonichi Mega weeks for EDC and A6 Hobonichi for a journal. for 2023. FC Classic worked well for me this year. So much anxiety when setting up for the new year planning system.
I have been watching loads of these kinds of videos to help me figure out what I want to use. I am so susceptible to having "all the things," but I had to really identify what I like/dislike and what my limitations are (zero artistic ability) to come up with a system that is realistic and one I will keep. I don't want to feel like the money I have spent has been wasted, so I am trying to be conscientious about what I have and how I will use it without abandoning it. I literally have a journal where I write about Planner Pros and Cons, Likes and Dislikes, etc. It took awhile, but I think I have finally figured out what works for me and still allows me to use all of my various covers and supplies. I have 2 planners: 1 for every day and 1 for sewing/crafting projects. Both are Levenger disc-bound notebooks. I have hand-made and store-bought blank books for journaling and note-taking. Some pages/journals I toss and some I keep, so that's why I need separate journals. I only bought Hobonichi blank notebooks because I knew I did not like the aesthetic for daily use, but I wanted them for the paper! I will use them for note-taking or ink swatching. I think I have about 10 different planners/journals in total, but several of them are multi-year and will take a long time to fill up!
@@lindseyscribbles LOL, my Planner Journal is for "if I had a RU-vid Channel, this is what I would talk about." (I'm too chicken to actually have a channel!)
I absolutely cannot mix my diary with my personal journaling. I have a personality split - me planning and me journalling are two different people 😅 UK viewers, where do you buy Hobonichi Cousin?
I thought I was all set with just my cousin this year and has a last-minute impulse to buy a Weeks. I’ve never used a weeks (I used to be a TN girl) but I love the idea of having all appointments, school schedule and work days off in one place when I’m out and about. I’m about to watch your weeks setup video next. 🥰
I think I have about ten journals and planners for next year 😂 I seriously need to make a video of them. However don’t feel alone in the need to switch.
I honestly prefer just one notebook, but I can't decide to continue my planner set up with my Travelers or switch to Hobonichi Weeks, both planners I got into because of your videos! ❤ So to temporarily fix this, I've just stuffed my Weeks in my Traveler's and see how I feel before the end of the year (or week) 🤣
@@lindseyscribbles I realized my regular sized TC journal was generally too big and clunky to travel with, especially with my Hobonichi weeks included. It also doesn't lay flat which I didn't realize became such a peeve for me! So I've switched it around! :D I got a Leather Zip Cover to house my Weeks (main planner) and am using my TC Passport as my "EDC" that has my Daily notebook and wallet. And if I need to, I can slip out my Daily notebook and slip it in my Weeks leather zip and carry that around~ I get to have the best of both worlds!!
thanx! love your update and thoughts about planning. my setup for 2023: - [tested] moleskine classic dotted notebook (soft cover + expanded version) = my brain dump since 2020: ideas about planning, mindmaps, creative collages and attempts at lettering. like to add smth on top of previous records. - [tested] hobo weeks mega 2023 = main daily planner with collections. + in this year I use monthly calendars as flashcards for learning French. 1 day - 1 phrase or word. and on the sides grammar or examples. - [first time] hobo weekly 2023 (green notebook) = work routine + statistics (family calls; books read, films watched, household tasks, habit trackers… - amount per week) and after your video, I decide to order a hobo sneakers - for “projects” [first time]. 52 + ≈5 weekly pages = 1 work project, or idea 💡 I want to realize. on the left, where the dates are, there will be blocks for points: start, deadline, inspiration, who will help, limitations… on the right is the idea itself and steps. if there’s not enough space, then I link to the pages at the end in Notes. if it doesn’t work with projects, it will just be a notepad for work tasks 😅
I appreciate hearing your thoughts and ideas on these planners. I want to branch out in 2023 but I don’t want 14 calendars. I have been doing some inventory of my life and all the changes lately and I’m looking forward to using a variety of systems in the New Year.
Like you, I did my fair share of "planner hopping" I watched Cindy G's video on how to narrow down and I think my "unicorn" resides in both the Hobo Cousin and Weeks. They fulfill my total planner needs 😀 I look forward to your set up videos!
I too am using my Cousin for my archiving and journaling. You inspired me to create a passport and I'm absolutely in love with it. I have three inserts. An annual, a quarterly and I added one for brain dumping on the go. I'll change out inserts when I travel because 2023 is going to be a big year for that for me. 2022 was hard because I was healing from a heart attack at the end of December and I'm only starting to feel normal now almost a year later. I have a weeks strictly for meal planning. An A6 Hobo for health and fitness and I'm going to test out Sterling Ink's new Common planner for financials. I have some hefty goals for 2023, so I need to keep things separated. :)
I bought all the Hobonichis this year and only used one lol. Since I didn’t use the other planners, I am disregarding the dates and using the A6 as a notebook and just indexing all my notes in the yearly section up front. The A5 hobo, I have no idea but it won’t go used! I will figure out something even if it kills me cause I hate having unused planners sitting around. This year I bought the Sterling Ink B6 planner and I am impatiently waiting for it arrive so I can set it up and hopefully this will be one and only for next year.
thank you for your video it was very informative :) i decided to go back to a ring system .... it gives me 100% flexibility and i can experiment with different layouts and change the paper :) i hope i keep using the same planer the whole year heheh :) 😅
I like the idea of an archive planner. For 2022, I did a ton of planner hopping. I do need to go back and make one of them an archive so I know where stuff is. I’m terrible at using more than one planner as much as I’d like to do a memory planner or archive. Right now I’m creating my own printables because I’m too picky and it’s too overwhelming to choose! Lol.
Really cool that you're making your own inserts! The archive is my planner hopping loop hole - but it's easiest when the archive IS my main planner. but it's a good excuse for me to get to play with more planners too
I got the common planner because I liked the idea of so many blank pages because I make a lot of lists (my journal journal is a separate blank notebook) but I just got deep into Notion for collections, so I might audible to a Wonderland 222 for a planner. My work planner is a blank V2 Wonderland and I love it
I like to dip my toes in notion but i always run back to paper lol. The common planner looks so pretty! but I can see the appeal of the Wonderland if Notion is a better place for you to keep things organized!
@@lindseyscribbles I mainly use it for keeping track of prolific authors like Agatha Christie and Terry Pratchett. It's much easier than writing out their corpi every time I get a new journal >
What is the difference between the Sneaker Weeks Mega and just a normal Weeks Mega? I saw another video that said there was a size difference (in height and width) between the two, but didn’t say by how much or if there were other differences. Love your videos! ☺️
I’ve got two hobonichu weeks one for personal and one for work. I’m going to use these to house my collections and habit trackers. And then I’m setting up a leuchtturm a5 with a calendar and using the monthlies as a memories keeper and for dailies. Hopefully this isn’t too much! 💕
I'm using the navy blue Mega Weeks for my bullet journal and the champagne gold Weeks for collections and reviews and trackers. A passport TN for finances. I also change planners as few times a year but I'm excited to stay in my weeks for 2033
I am kinda all over the place too. I am currently designing a New Layout to try right now. Not sure if it is going to work or not, but I am also using anther layout too that I have also designed. I use a discbound bullet journal so I can take pages on and off the discs.
Going to go with a Weeks for appointments. I’ve had so much trouble remembering doctors appointments or work meetings ahead. I don’t seem until it shows up on my calendar in Outlook & I’m then scrambling. Hobo weeks should give me a good visual a couple weeks in advance and I’m hoping that helps.
I'm sooo conflicted about what to do for 2023. I was using a B6 stalogy as a bullet journal which worked great until my semester started in September. I got a standard Weeks for 2023 to use strictly as an academic planner which has been working amazing so far. Since I got the weeks I moved into an A6 avec which I really hated at first, but now I'm in love with. Really not sure whether to use an A6 Hobonichi full year or setup an A6 bujo in a Nanami Cafe Note A6 for my dailies. I might follow your lead and just setup both 😅.
Hi when you say you’re doing to journal in your cousin do you mean memory keeping the events of the day or personal journaling? I have a hard time keeping my family memory keeping and my personal journaling in the same book so just wondering how that has worked for you. Xoxo
it will be a bit of both - I don't like to set too many rules about what I journal or I get stuck feeling repetitive. I sort of censor what I write in the cousin because I know I'll keep it long term (usually) and i do more ranting type journaling in other notebooks when I need to
my journals stay at my desk - but I take my personal planner with me everywhere. right now that's my passport tn which is setup as a bullet journal / wallet combo
