Long story short I thought I had to sell it. That was one truck I never did think of selling but life happens. Probably would still have it today. It was a Wisconsin truck so not sure how long the frame would have held up. I know the box supports were starting to rot.

Wow, you have that Ranger equipped with a lot of goodies I would like to have. I only hope you can get your money back you have into it when you sell or trade it off.🏁

Unfortunately I don't see getting my money back. My last Ranger I bought used and got a good deal on it. I had it for 5 years and sold it for around what I had in it. This one I bought new, you never get new price back out of it. I guess my plan is to keep it awhile and enjoy it so my loss doesn't feel so bad at the end.

You mentioned Darth Dually, one of the first You Tube videos I watched was you fixing inner and outer rocker covers on either that truck or the 2000 Silverado. Your channel was also the first one I ever subscribed to. I had a 2002 Silverado I was going to do the same job on, but ended up getting rid of the truck instead.

A rusty rocker job is a huge task. I am not looking forward to the rust repair on the 80 Silverado.

@@davidgriffin14 I had to move my camper away from the shop so the melting snow doesn't come crashing down on it. The snow on it was so heavy the landing gear wouldn't go up so I could get hooked up. I ended up just driving under it and forcing the hitch under it. Luckily it worked out.

@@mossman381 - Don't blame you, its a difficult and time consuming task! But one thing I can promise, I will watch if you video it! One of the reasons I didn't fix my truck (when I still had it) is because when I practiced spot welding on sheet metal, I kept blowing holes in the metal. I was using a cheap welder, so perhaps that was why.

@@alanbradford3130 Our little Hobart does a pretty good job. I usually have to turn it all the way down for sheet metal. Still seems to warp it. Older rusty metal is even worse. It will blow up and create a mess in a hurry.

I miss that truck sometimes. I don't miss the size when plowing snow. The Nicoko bars are pretty good as well. I would have gone that route if I didn't have this one laying around to match my other light bar. The only one that needs to think it's cool is me. I think one reason why you don't see more lighting accents is because it's not easy. It takes a bunch of wiring and custom work to pull off. People want easy mods these days. The hours I have just in wiring on this Ranger is crazy.

@@mossman381 it’s crazy how much things have shifted in just 5-7 years. The commercialization of RU-vid has pushed most small creators out of business. Short form vids are a bane to human psychology and most of us that do meaningful modifications don’t have any desire to get into that subversive tik tak style of media. I haven’t posted anything since I repainted my Suburban. That and I miss every truck I ever sold or scrapped. Would love to still have both my 87 Dakota and 79 Bronco still.

RU-vid is an interesting place. People don't know it but when they watch all those stupid videos it helps make more stupid videos. One that comes to mind pretty quick is the channel that crushes things with a huge press. I haven't watched one of those videos, but they are constantly pushing them at me. If people would watch someone with some talent and give them the views and funds they need to really get creative, you would have a really cool channel to watch. Nope, lets crush something that will be fun. Some of the big RU-vid people are rich to begin with. Unlimited funds and they get richer with the views. I am constantly asking myself why I spend the time on the videos. Maybe someday it will pay off, I guess. I miss a lot of my trucks but then I think what if I kept some of them. It would be a nightmare just maintaining a few of them. I am thinking about selling my s10. It just sits there and now it has a dead battery. I am paying insurance and registration every year. The truck isn't even worth that much.

@@mossman381 yeah, RU-vid income took a serious drop in 2022. So I stopped caring about regular uploads. The rest of Socialist Media has become so tedious, I’m simply cutting it all back in life. You look at the big channels and they all have a production crew, which is great for these media savvy kids; bit I have no desire to live that life. Yeah, maintenance is what keeps me from picking up another truck, that and not having where to park it.

The pay has gone down some. They pay you just enough to get some good cameras. And dangle a treat in front of you. If you work just a little harder, you can get more. Maybe just a little harder to get more. I can say I have worked my butt off trying to get somewhere on RU-vid only to be doing ok with it. I remember back when I was doing like a video almost every day. I was falling asleep editing videos. It does feel good to help others. I get those comments all the time people thanking me for the help. Good feelings don't pay the bills or get you parts for your next project.

Do you still have the 80s truck and are you doing anymore content on trucks/cars?

I still have the 80 Silverado project. I don't have the funds to work on two projects at the same time and actually get anywhere. I need more views. I worked my butt off on the 70 Chevy truck and then the 80 and didn't really see the views increase. That is really unmotivating. With my Ranger it's something I really enjoy, and I use it every day, even if I don't get the views. This Ranger project is almost complete for the most part. So, I will probably get back on the 80 Silverado.
