Bobby does the nicest interviews. I look forward to him every time I see him on youtube. And I'm 73 years old and I've been trying to drag race my whole life. And how it is so impressive to see these old guys out there still doing it. It is one of my favorite things to do when I see Bobby interviews these guys. Thank you baby for the great interviews and please keep it up. You and Joe Costello on wfo are the two best guys on RU-vid. But that's only my opinion.
Just turned 73 started drag race my 57 chev 2 Dr ht in 67 1/8 in Eugene called Babol Park..Drove to 1st national event in 71 to watch Jenkins out smart those Mopar guys...
1st time watching Bobby... This video was a time warp for me💯. Going to races with my nino Danny who was National tech director for NHRA and my cuz Jeff who raced super stock back in the day...Seeing old travel race friends like Jim grossi and his dad and uncle, Fred Moreno and Jimmy de Frank...🤯 Good times 💯...keep up the good work Bobby
Another great video. Racing is what it's about, but love the behind the scene details. That corvette is super nice. Those wheelie bars are innovative. I like.
I started drag racing in the mid '70s and love watching your videos. I do have a request though. Can you back the camera up when doing interviews? Sometimes you're so close we can only see half of the racer's face. Plus, there are a lot of beautiful cars there but we don't get to see a lot of them either. Sometimes you just show us the interior only. Would love to see under the hood of them too but I guess you can't do that in the staging lanes and would have to walk the pits. My local track is closed for the winter now but I can watch your videos to get my racing fix.
I’ve gotten that comment a few times. It surprises me that people care that much about it but the reason is, I only have two hands and need a third. Holding a camera in one hand and a mic up to the racer in the other means I have to be close. If I hand the mic off to the racer I can’t always trust that they will hold it anywhere close to their mouth which then gets me complaints on the lack of sound.
@@driverinterviews Thanks for the reply, Bobby. We care because we are living vicariously through you 😁 so as a viewer, we feel like we are there talking to the racers ourselves. When I talk to someone I'm not up in their face and like to maintain personal space. Can your wife help? I don't know much about video but can you put a different lens on the camera? Maybe a boom on the mic? I'll continue to watch and subscribe but it's just a suggestion to make your videos even better.
I love watching these cars pull gigantic wheelies I'm not sure why the class racing is not more popular with spectators. Some of the modern turbo cars are just not as fun to watch
>> *Well.. We heard about The 69 Orange Corvette. >> (( BUT, FOR Some Reason Bobby Did Not Tell Us what car or year car that Steve was driving after the Vette. I guess I will have to bother Steve at work or try to find the info on the race pages at NHRA... >> I am guessing it is A >> 64 or 65 Belvedere.. But,, I maybe Incorrect.
Love your videos Bobby! I can’t help but notice the aging group of folks in those beautiful cars. I wonder who will carry the torch for many of them when they can no longer compete. I also am in that group. Love those stock and super stockers but will they attract the younger generation who can’t relate to those fantastic classic cars.
Can only hope..see too many of these get sold off asap, nobody cares about them esp when it comes easy Younger nephew said he would be embarrassed to be seen in my 'El but wanted to experience torque He was wasting $ on a 4 door honda. haha
Yes but what engine are you running? Stock and Super Stock are limited to what engine came in the car. So stock block, heads, and carburetor are a few restrictions.
