Dear Erica, sending you a huge hug. Last night 2 sisters ask for new quilts for Christmas. They want one with lots of blue,the other lots of pink. Oh yes they want lots of blocks. After lots of time on RU-vid I have decided on you Sew With Me and 2023 Sew With Me. Blocks that are similar will get different fabrics. What we do for our grands. By the way my daughter said she could use a new quilt. I thought 2 quilts possible 3 may be stretching it a bit. Thank you so very much for sharing your creativity. Much love.

This one may be my favorite block so far for this years SWM Series. Super super cute. My 8 yr old granddaughter watched this with me and she said “Yeah Yeah, I really like how this lady shows us how to sew this one…I think I want to try and make it”. 😌 so off we go to pick out her colors. These blocks are sooo pretty ❤ but I would like to know how you wash your quilt for the very first time? Do you pre wash your fabric? I'm asking, because I experienced bleeding for the first time 😱 my navy backing fabric bled into the front eventhough I threw in 3 sheets of color catchers and used wool washing programm with 30° C. Since that nightmare I'm a little bit nervous using strong colors like red and navy 😢

Hi! I do not pre-wash my fabric, but I do sometimes pre-starch it which helps with fabric bleed. Otherwise I do NOT pre-wash at all. I DO use a color-catcher and wash in cold water for the first few washes. Thank you very much for answering and a special thank you for the link to the video of washing and rescuing a quilt. In Germany they don't sell dawn (except on Amazon and veeeeery expensive). But I was able to find something similar to this dish soap and it worked pretty well. 😅 What a relief!!!! Thank you so much.
