Nice review Douglas. Coincidentally my brand-new 2023 EX Elstran just arrived, assembling it right now. Great bike. It's darker gray than shown on the product photos. And it has the Odyssey Stage 2 rims! Essentially, it's a half-price Soundwave, which you can upgrade bit by bit until you have a much higher spec bike nearer to the quality of the Soundwave. Identical geometry. Will add a FC next. I wouldn't bother with the Forecaster, just go straight for this if you can afford the extra few bucks. Incidentally, the Sunday website shows this as a 20.75" TT but it is a 21".

Bro I wish the Erik Elestran version was 20.5 not 21” cause I absolutely love the look of the bike, I’m just way too short for 21” although I could just buy another frame

I personally think that height has nothing to do with top tube size for anyone who’s at least 5’9 maybe 5’8” I think it’s all about preference. Like I’m 6 feet tall but my favorite frame is 20.25. I also have a couple 20.5 bikes that I like quite a bit. However I fit fine on all of them any 20” variation is fine my knees don’t hit or anything even on the 20.25 only thing I notice for example with the 20.75 I will notice my back slightly more slanted more in a “park” or “race” type stance and I can go faster usually. 20.25 I like the most because it’s fun for manuals and a lot of other tricks it just works. So to anyone out there don’t get caught up with top tubes having to do with height. Unless you’re like especially tall or short, it won’t matter. As long as ur average height for a male you should get great use of any 20” variation

Good to see in depth honest reviews on new stuff. Your minimum height for 20.75" toptubes seems high. There's riders smaller than 5' 9" using 20.75 frames, depending on type of riding. Then there's smaller riders that just want a longer wheelbase for stability so buy 20.75. Or like myself being 5' 7" tall but have long legs compared to my torso, so 20.75" gives me more knee room, without having to adjust my bars too far forward.

What's the precise right size for a 5'7?

Hey what’s up man!! Been watching some of your videos about bikes and what to buy based on what you’re looking to do. I have a 2022 GT Performer with cassette and then I have a 1987 GT Performer that I just restored and I love the 87 because it’s way lighter and feels like I’m use too. I’m 42 and I’m just now getting back into riding. I was in the Army and had spinal fusion surgeries but I’m not letting that get in my way. I’m trying to do flatland freestyle and basically just cruise around my hometown doing wheelies and manuals and just be free and feeling like I’m young again. Yeah I know, sounding kinda lame but you seem like the kinda guy to give me good advice. Money isn’t a problem. I do want from and back pegs and front and rear brakes as well. And free coaster…. I have a long way to go but I’m committed. I just want a bike that light weight and durable like no other. Hope this message makes sense and it thanks for all your videos man. They have been helpful.

He is biased towards having a smaller frame for a person. Im 5'11 with my shoes on lol and i own this bike. I feel like a monster on top of it. Im comfy on it though.

Hey Doug, so you recommended the sunday ex and I love the bike. You say it comes with one hub guard? And the rims you say are not the best? I would like at some point to add pegs, do you suggest getting the other hub guards? and would you get better rims? Im 5'8 150lbs.. I am an all around rider.. parks dirt street.. your thoughts? any info would help thanks
