I was there and it was a blast! Porsche was the fan favorite. lots of hats and shirts. BMW was second and Corvette was third ....maybe tied for second. Very excited for next year! The whole weekend was spectacular. Night racing at Indy is something special everyone should experience.
Being at this race was so much fun! It was the first IMSA race I've been at in a long time, it felt like home again. I really want them on the MotoGP course, the IndyCar course is meh at best.
hey IMSA, I was wondering if a Fastest lap identifier graphic could be displayed on the running order. just a purple bar or dot next to the name or time. I think SRO has something like this.
I would say it definitely set a dangerous precedent, the rule says if they don’t pass in a “timely manner” they will lose the position , I hope “timely manner” is covered in the driver briefing otherwise drivers will wait 10 seconds and start overtaking each other
It's good to see the Porsche 963 get some wins. It hasn't been smooth sailing in Fia Wec. The GTP standings are razer thin with what appears to be 5 points of separation of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. All in all with one race left I think GTP has made an impact. Roxy's hype dinosaur is back.

A new production facility is being built and at that time 1080 will be made available. Unfortunately there is not a clear timeline for this. Thank you!
@Dethmeister In the end, the faster car is in charge of overtaking safely, but it was the smallest overlap and he shouldn't have been there. He didn't squeeze, he was taking the apex at full racing speed. Nothing to gain from leaving your nose in the door of a faster class while you're still getting up to speed.
God dammit lmao! Whenever watching imsa races I pick a car with one of my favorite liverys to root for and it seems like i jynx them every time. This time i picked bourdias in the car that got spun turn 1 lol
Me: Oooh sweet! Good to see the yellow caddy near the front! *sigh* ...aaaaand the yellow Cadillac wrecks within the first 10 seconds of the race. Has that car wrecked out of contention in every single race its entered? Good lord, what a terrible year for them.

I don't know why the #9 did that at the start. He not only got out of line by changing lanes, he was squeezing the 79 AMG to the wall. They ruined their own race with a well deserved penalty.

The WeatherTech Championship only race a single race during an event weekend. If you are referring to the Michelin Pilot Challenge, their race will be made available the day following the TV broadcast of the race (10/15). Thanks!
The television director needs to do a better job at showing the battles. The last 20 minutes of this race was an intense battle for gtd lead. We were off in no mans land for the battle and the passes happening live. Two times they had to come back for a replay. Why not show the action live on track? It is frustrating to view a gtp with a 20 second lead when you know there is a battle on track elsewhere.
Not sure why commentary was saying this circuit isn’t suited for multi class racing. IMSA does fine at Long Beach, Belle Isle, and Mid Ohio, there’s no reason they can’t race well at Indy. Drivers just need to tighten up, that’s all. Thanks for the upload, fun race to watch.
It's more of a track layout problem. The series of corners from turn 1 to hulman Blvd straight as well as the esses after make passing almost impossible there, which will cause many incidents. Long Beach, Mid-Ohio and belle isle are/were not raced with all classes. Something that adds to the traffic here. Especially if its going to be on the endurance cup which it shouldn't be.
I mean, if they drop LMP3 for next year I have no problem with that. But if they can run 3 classes at Leguna Seca, they can run 3 classes at Indy. There’s nothing wrong with the circuit. If Super GT can run multi class endurance racing at Suzuka and SUGO, then IMSA can do multi class endurance racing at Indy.
I watched this round last weekend on NBC Sports app on my Android 4k TV live.....the pass #7 Porsche made on #31 Cadillac was shown from a different and unsatisfying camera angle ! The helicopter chase can here was just EXQUISITE ! NBC cameras might get more interviews then you guys but then at IMSA you have the best camera angles of the actual race👌
Madison Snow on the GTD & Pro pole??? Somebody get that man into a Pro ride already. :)Second pole in a row for Matty Campbell, nice Qualifying there. Ugly first half hour of the race with incidents. I am starting to see IMSA's genius in race lengths. 160 minutes does not divide by 3, plus the driver minimums to consider when you look at pit strategy. No one way of doing it, so figure out what works best for you in that race. :)
Mid-Ohio was dumped for this? I'm sorry, but the circuit layout is just not conducive to good racing, and never has been since the original USGP layout in 2005. I'm begging Mr. Penske, please, please redesign the infield circuit or let someplace else host the race. I'm not expecting Spa, but Daytona proves these hybrid facilities can do WAY better than this.
Absolutely flawless run from PPM . They have a bone in their teeth after being screwed at sebring and the glen and are not letting up. Feel bad for JDC, they just didnt have it and getting bumped wide by good ol argy bargy albuquerque didnt help either. That safety car was really bizarre as well

@@GamersHolyArmy but that’s my point. I’d they’re getting the same feed as we are, I’m sitting there watching drivers go off, get spun round etc, and they’re talking amongst themselves. Replay comes on 5 minutes later “oh, we didn’t see that live”… I’m afraid we did chaps.
Great coverage, as usual. Thanks IMSA. However, this is the worst track on the schedule. If I wanted to watch a demolition derby, I would watch NASCAR. I come to watch IMSA for the racing, but not here. John Hindhaugh: “Less contact seen at a Fair Ground”. This track combines the worst elements of some of the more notable European tracks, Monza for one. Turns 1 & 2 appear to be designed to purposefully create carnage. And this is further messed up by dumping the pit exit right into the racing line going into turn 2. Nothing could go wrong with doing that. Ugh! This all makes for lousy racing. How about running the track counterclockwise? The race start then would be pretty well sorted out in a nice sweeping left hander. This would also make for a great overtaking spot. The blend of the pit exit (the clockwise pit entrance) would be in a better spot. Turn 1 would become turn 14. The pit entrance would then look like the one at Watkins Glen. Just my 2 cent for making a better race experience.
