I had a 2011 5.0 from 33k miles to 98k miles, it developed an engine tick so loud I got funny looks in parking lots. Dealers didn’t have any luck fixing it. I traded it in, eventually got a 2013 f150 EcoBoost, had it from 40k to 180k miles, no engine issues at all, always oil changes @ 5k miles, did all regular scheduled maintenance. Just traded it in for 2021 ecoboost tremor, so far it’s amazing, ridiculous power and got 20mpg driving it 4 hours back from the dealer @ 75 mph

My nitpicks at 14k miles on the 401a are a little different than yours, but some are similar. I'm not a fan of the faux dual exhaust...Yes, it sounds better than the v-6 but it is lacking. I guess both banks sharing a muffler was part of the cost-saving thing. The infotainment screen is annoying at times, and I won't wait for it to "fix itself" before I need to drive (but overall, I think it is the perfect size and the options are nice). I will very seldom tow with this truck, so the squatting doesn't bother me (and it will still tow more than the Raptor), and I won't level it because that will affect mpg. On the topic of mpg, I have been VERY impressed. The worst I have gotten has been at above-interstate speeds in the headwinds or crosswinds of west Texas (16-17.5 mpg). On the other hand, I have gotten as high as 24 mpg (maybe it is a unicorn though). I originally intended to supercharge the coyote, but the mpg convinced me not to. I don't like the front cupholders...They are too small for standard Gatorade bottles. I share your opinion that the 10-speed doesn't always feel as smooth...I think it is mostly when the vehicle hasn't properly warmed up from my experience. I didn't get the tailgate step but wonder if I should have...That tailgate is high for a 58-year-old man to jump up in. I did get the 360 cameras, the Torsen front diff, the console safe, the under-seat storage, and maybe a couple others, and I have been happy with the options. I actually think I like the "cloth" seats more than I would have leather and I didn't want a contact phone charger because I got the console safe and need somewhere else to put my low-level "junk" like a flashlight, gum, etc. This or next year, I will replace the General Grabbers with KO2's or Cooper SSTs. The Grabbers haven't been a bad tire, but they "Grab" and toss gravel worse than the other two in my experience (and they are already starting to cup a bit in spite of rotation). Now, to put that all in perspective, I am really enjoying the truck and am glad I bought it. I am actually a Toyota guy but couldn't buy one this time because they dropped the recovery/tow hooks on almost everything and then told me it would be a year to receive a truck if I special-ordered it. I ordered the Tremor in February 2023 and received it in March of 2023. 😁 Peace, Love!!

The "full view not available" block is on all trucks, even with 360 cam. I saw that it can be removed via forescan.

I just got the same truck. I was looking at and F-150 XLT and it was only 3K more for the Tremor with the 5.0. I also got a lower model of it. I as well saw a load of options that you can remove with Forescan. Might have to get it.

I’m curious. Do you guys only drive in Tow Haul / Sport mode even for daily drives? I just bought a new 2023 XLT. I’m also not a fan of cylinder deactivation and go back and fourth between normal and sport. Being in normal really hasn’t seemed to be an issue for me yet. I’m just curious what you guys are doing
@Floatsorrolls1
@Floatsorrolls1 5 месяцев назад
Non hauling we usually rock normal or sport mode. Most of the miles are towing but havent noticed the cylinder deactivation to be very apparent in normal mode with the way we drive. Think it has alot to do with speed and your consistency of said speed. Ive only noticed cyclinder deactivation at like 55mph and 65mph on flat ground for extended periods of consistent speed ive noticed it kick on.Around town it never seems to do it. live in a hilly area so it jumps around gears a bunch and found normal mode to be most smooth also with light loads in the mountains on the highway we liked normal mode tends to jump around gear the least amount or felt the smoothest for us. If we arent hauling and just screwing around we ride in sport mode lol. Congrats on the new truck! We really only rock tow haul when we fully loaded up now. Will probably get a tuner at some point but Love our tremor so far. Just wanted to share some nitpicks! Thanks for watching! 😎🤘🏼

The TREMOR build is asthetically nice, but that's were it stops. The issue at hand is the new corner cutting approach with the builds and packages they offer, and when you do get the top tier package, they fall short and well, cheap too.

I think the window and trim piece are on all the trucks. The 10spd is harsher shifting on any vehicle that has it, including my explorer. Other than that I've always liked them and they're really reliable. Tremor does offer some good features. Hopefully I can get one one day.

Havent heard anything of a toyota ford partnership. The toyota trucks do seem to have their turbo issues worked out both great trucks just nitpicking ours :). Thanks for watching!

What kind of mpg are you getting with the 5.0?

I have a 2” level with 35s and I’m still getting about 16-17 in town (eco-mode, feather-footing gas, using cruise control etc) and 21-24 on the highway depending on how fast I’m going. Overall, pretty damn good.

Well my AC dont work in my 23 that was built in 11/23. 1300 miles /5.0. I hear they will have take the dash out. I am so hesitant to start playing the shell game with the service dpt.

@Floatsorrolls1 Svc Rep said there is a known issue with the 23 model and there is a TSB. I'm scheduled for a computer flash that's supposed to correct it. System is freezing over she claims - in my defense.

lol so ford techs with no college degree are the be all end all to which engine is better lol ok…they probably just see more 3.5s in the shop because it is the more popular engine choice by far…most 3.5s run for 200k with minimal maintenance…and the 5.0 is only worth it if you plan on making power from it cuz buying a truck just for “sound” seems immature
@Floatsorrolls1
@Floatsorrolls1 9 месяцев назад
Yes a mechanic who works on these trucks every day knows the in and out of the f150 I personally think holds a-lot of merit. Having a college degree is completely irrelevant. Yes the 3.5 is more popular and is by no means a bad motor. We have a 2013 5.0 f150 and has been nothing but great for us so thats what we went with on the new. Plus it does sound better. Dont think having an opinion or preference on how a 60k truck sounds is immature😂 but hey to each their own. You can get plenty of power out of either platform but for the simplicity and peace of mind the 5.0 is our choice. And it’s OK if you prefer a v6.
@Youtubeuser1aa
@Youtubeuser1aa 7 месяцев назад
Having graduated from one of the best graduate mechanical engineering programs in the world, I would want to hear what the techs have to say. Discounting people with skills and no degree is a very myopic way to go through life.
@Jaruzelsk

I think Ford techs who are CERTIFIED by FORD know what they’re doing everyday with these motors 😂. I mean ,do you know more then Ford? Please tell me why I should of picked the 3.5 over my beloved 5.0 coyote 😅.
@Youtubeuser1aa
@Youtubeuser1aa 4 месяца назад
@@Jaruzelsk you should Stick with what you like. I like the 3.5 in a truck, the 5.0 in a mustang. Keep up maintenance and odds are in your favor.

Our plant builds the F150 and the 5.0 is in almost twice as many builds as the 3.5 EB, nice try though
