I own a 2021 rocket 3r . This is the best video I've watched about this bike. I call my bike the dirt bike for the road

I purchased a 2022 GT last August. I have owned 35 - 40 new motorcycles in the last 55 years including 6 GW's including gen 6, 2 BMW's K1600's, 2 RT 1200/1250, a Kawasaki H2SX and many others. This has got to be one of the neatest of the entire bunch. I put a Corbin fairing with radio on it along with the Triumph hard cloth bags and now I have a relatively decent touring bike. This thing is far better than I was expecting, Its very nimble for its weight, very very easy to ride. Solid as a rock down the highway and we know about the power. I've put some 3300 miles on it and it's a rush and a pleasure to ride everytime. As said in the review, the transmission is velvet smooth and the motor vibration is almost nothing. Super brakes...This bike is a class act and I would high recommend it.

I have a 2023 Rocket 3 GT that is my daily commuter bike. I find that she does get a bit warm on the right side by the exhaust, but nothing compared to my 08 Kawasaki Mean Streak so it wasn't a big issue for me. Gas mileage isn't great for stop and go traffic, but what do you expect for a 2.5L engine? My one major gripe is the exhaust note. I wish she sounded as mean as her actually is. Conclusion: I absolutely LOVE my Rocket. She has some small issues, but what bike doesn't? Best bike I've ever owned!

I own a 2019 GW Tour DCT and just purchased a 2022 Rocket R3 in red back in August. I really enjoy having 2 different styles of riding and agree with most of your review. I added TPMS, heated grips, pillion backrest, louder horn, and adjustable/removable shield. It's truly a blast to ride, and then appreciate the comfort of my GW DCT even more. Thanks for the review!

I own GT. I don't need TPMS (I see no reason for it,), heated grips were built in. removed pillion backrest, added louder horn, removed windshield 😉 Comfort is ok from my point of view, it is motorcycle, not cruising ship. There are only few things, what I dislike. 1, small tank (or big fuel consumption, so and so, short mileage); 2, no space for rain suit for one day trips; 3, cruise control is not working over 160 km/h. I would have rather tft with classic 2-gauge look.

I purchased a 2020 3 GT in March 2024 with 300 miles. Rode it home from Plano, Tx. This machine is a beast. So nice that it sits in my man cave. Power isn't the word for this machine. You twist the throttle and time slows down and you're in a different location before you left the last location. Extremely smooth. I enjoy looking at it. Not many people bash the Rocket in these reviews. I'm 67 with 34 bikes over the past 54 years including the Boss Hoss 502. The Triumph is a class all by itself. Go ride one when you can. You'll get a big grin.

I own a 2020 Rocket 3 GT i had ride all sort of motorcycles in the last 40 years sport cruiser trail but nothing compare to the experience you have on the road with the Rocket.The torque is always there. Almost every day when i ride it people give me thumbs up from cars around me or at a cafe people talk to me about the bike it so fun its like owning a ferrari or a lamborgini its a event because you dont see the Rocket often on the road its rare, I installed a quickshifter on it so from red light to red light its a dragster so much power reaaly this bike is a blast to have. I have experience some heat coming off my right leg but nothing to harsch to say that its uncomfortable for me anyway.

I've had every Goldwing made in my riding life, 1000-1800. Liked or loved all of them and still have an '06 and an '18DCT. For perspective, the Yamaha Venture Royale was just as good or better than the 1000-1200 GWs. I say that to say this...most touring riders of any longevity have a secret desire for a Hot Rod bike to compliment their main squeezes. This Triumph would be my 'sidebike' without any questions!!!! Love it!!!!

Okay yeah but why doesn’t Triumph build a new three-wheeled motorcycle from the ground up and put this engine in it. They’d get a lot of inquiries about that one. This is my opinion.
@watchapexmedia
@watchapexmedia Год назад
Well done on approaching the beast with a modicum of respect! I know I treated it that way for the first few rides. Once you get used to it, it stays in sport mode and you just use your wrist to change the speed of the earth's rotation. 🙂But I do suggest sampling one with a custom tune and a quickshifter. You can get an extra 20 or so horse, full 100% open throttle in all gears (they limit that from the factory), lightning fast shifts and then it makes the dragstrip a blur and you need to hang on for dear life! You also might find the GT more accommodating for a taller bloke, but with a reduced lean angle in the twisties. You can of course adjust the pedals up and down a bit, again with clearance suffering in the lowest setting. Finally, for the record heat can be an issue on hot days, but I get more from the exhaust side than the left side. And when stationary, the seat is low enough that you can have your legs down without having to keep them right up close to the engine. Once underway the heat dissipates pretty quickly.

I had a 2007 Rocket III Tour. 140 hp and 140 ftlb torque. I did not keep it long. The heat was nasty in July in Ohio. But the other issue was my tendency to run it up to the 140 mph governed max speed A LOT. At 25 mph in 5th gear you could roll it on and bust the chops of any HD and most crotch rockets right up to 140. I was 62 years old then. My wife was glad to see me sell it. I switched over to a Triumph 1300 SE sport tourer.

I own a 2006 R3 Classic which has 2.3 liters, 142 HP and 148 ft. lbs. torque. I also owned a 2008 R3 Touring model with the exact same power train as the other R3 models but it came with hard bags, windshield , floorboards, etc. for touring. Many Rocket owners with the previous generation bikes like mine were bummed by the new 2.5 liter models because they were so radically different in style, virtually no rear fender, not rigged for long distance touring and not substantially quicker. We are still hopeful Triumph will come to realize the profit potential in transforming this current model into a serious touring model like they use to have with all the stuff that serious touring riders want. I also think it would be great for Honda and BMW to have more competition. Thanks for another excellent review. Keep 'em coming. 🙂

For me personally, I guess if money is no object, having a bike like this in your garage gives you some bragging rights - owing the biggest displacement bike in the world. Watching these reviews actually makes one realize just how good the wing is. It really is a do it all bike... Thanks again for the review and safe riding.

I love my Rocket 3R, so much fun to ride and it does love the twisties. The suspension can be dialled in to suit the road conditions. I had mine dialled in to a more sporty setting and it was so unstable on the rubbish roads in central Queensland. Never noticed any heat issues, then again my other main ride was a Harley Davidson CVO Street Glide and like all other Harley's I've owned they run hot. The bluetooth on the Rocket 3R works pretty well, haven't tried the GoPro of turn by turn directions yet. Streaming music to your helmet works ok and the TPMS is handy. The quickshifter is another great addition to the bike. Great honest review, they do get along when you open that throttle wide open.

Cruiseman... please... if you want to really put this experience you had with this Triumph into perspective with an alternative that we all would like to hear more about, please go and ride the new Ducati Diavel. I had the older generation Diavel, and I bought that over the Yamaha V-Max and others that were in this class back in 2012. I now own a Honda 2022 Goldwing (I once had the 2010 Goldwing and a couple BMW 1600GTLs in the past) -- but now I love the newest Goldwing, and I use this when my wife rides with me. I relate to a lot of your videos about the Honda Goldwing. I sold my 2012 Diavel a couple years ago, but even though your review of this Triumph was fair and well done, I would still want to have you an experience with the new Diavel and help me get back to another "alter" ride to the Goldwing. Great videos and thank you for the time that you put into sharing with us.

I put 13,000 miles on my 2021 Rocket 3 GT last year. I like to run 400 to 600 miles a day usually but have ran 800 miles. With all the electronic aids you are not going to get in trouble very easy on this bike. I am usually getting around 38 mpg. I did put a big windshield on that is 24 inches wide so I am not getting beat up by the wind on long runs. One issue seems to be that if the bike sets for a couple of months the dealer has to bleed the ABS on the rear brake. Triumph hasn't got that figured out on the Rocket 3. I also have a Yamaha Raider and a HD Heritage Classic Springer that I regularly run long distances. This bike works just fine for long distances for me. Also, I don't think you can squeeze 4.8 gallons in the gas tank. This becomes an issue when running in the western US where it can be a long ways between gas stations. It is a great bike!

I recently took a 2023 Rocket 3R out, put it in Sport mode and wrung its neck on back roads near the mtns... It was fun and the presence is amazing, and it handles better than I expected... But I wasn't that impressed by the power and speed. Based on the numbers, I was expecting more... Its not as fast as a lot of the bikes I have owned, or currently own. I liked it, but if I was gonna spend that kind of money on a muscle cruiser, it would be a Diavel. The regular one, not the X. The Diavel makes a little less power but it's lighter, and handles better in the tight twisty stuff...

It puts a smile on your face. The design of it is a work of art. The attention to detail, like no other bike. Triumph really nailed it great with this one. I could not get over the power in ANY gear. However, I could not find this machine to serve my daily rides/communing at all. Also, I was not super comfortable. Moreover, to add all the accessories for a longer commute machine, the total price would have been as much as our wings. Triumph really needs to build a tour bike like the Wing.

In my opinion The triumph rocket 3 is not just another motorcycle at the Dealership IF THIS MOTORCYCLE WAS A HORSE it would be a WAR HORSE 🇬🇧♥️🇬🇧
@michiganborn8303
@michiganborn8303 Год назад
The 3 cylinder engine sounds strange. The dealer near me wouldn't let me take it for a test ride because it's considered a "performance bike" with the 165 hp. I.m 6'-2" and wondering how much battling against the wind and helmet buffering I'd get. I think the Rocket 3 GT has a slight taller windshield and capable of small saddlebags.
@R3RLEE
@R3RLEE Год назад
Because it is a performance bike. The gt has a screen the r doesn't. Bags fit both bikes. Fantastic bike...as for buffering its a naked bike but fine up to 80 mph. You can get a taller screen for both bikes...

At 14.35 or so, "triumph kills it, out of this world, piece of art, can't think of anything Triumph could do to improve it's styling, just amazing..." Yet, you give it a 4.8 out of 5? Performance, you say nothing that would detract from your perfect numerous score, yet you give a 4.9. -.2 and -.1? You say there's nothing you can think of that Triumph could do to improve, well, what can triumph do to get your 5 rating?

Let's address the elephants in the room, no bug eye or birdbeek bikes, baseball bat off the bug eyes and crowbar off the fly screen, and clean up the ass end tucking the license plate where it belongs. Now we can seriously talk about making this bike presentable, no mid controls looks ridicules, proper resets and get those ugly pipes out of there make all 150 cubic inches sing, and while we are at it, who greenlight the tires looks like it came straight off a Mac truck, BST carbon wheels low profile tires, but wait now your talking about a $45,000.00 motorcycle, exactly, the only way I would ever throw a leg over that bike.

Too bad you couldn't ride a 750 Boonville from the early 1970's before the company went bust, that is the truth Triumph experience. As for the nearly 700 pound 2 wheel tractor you tested for this review, I can't get past the looks, way too beefy, in fact the British MC press said after Mad Cow: "British Beef, it's back on the menu".
