Hey guys! Just a note that the Tiguan wasn't in the 'Travel Assist' mode during the lane departure testing. We're going to try and do this test again next time we have a Tiguan in to repeat it all.

All you need to know is that dual clutch transmissions are nice at first but will not be as reliable as a conventional auto transmission a few years down the track. Rebuilding them costs a bomb.
@Seafury18
@Seafury18 Год назад
@@kylosolo6128 CVTs are more efficient in general but are often installed in underpowered engines and usually rev at their peak power/torque band even under light load. Hence less fuel economy. Thanks for the review Paul and Team! All those errors brought an ironic smile to my face. It was the mysery of owning my mk7 Golf R - the damn thing constantly had alarms and warnings. Never felt it would get from 1 service through to another, without experiencing an issue.

Paul that gearbox calibration issue was just because you had the adaptive dampening set to comfort. On the dash it has the comfort road symbol. When my R Line is in comfort everything is so much more smoother but yes you have much less go from the engine unless you put your foot down. When you change it to sports mode you touch the accelerator and it jolts off like you are foot flat 😅

@@dragospahontu If you drive your car on the highway for more than 20 minutes each trip, you should go for diesel, in theory. However, since many Australians do not satisfy that (sometimes due to traffic congestion which slows down the average speed), the diesel engine's efficiency is being covered.

We just bought a 162TSI Allspace R Line, and can't agree more that out of all the 7 seaters in this price range you can't go past the Tiguan even though its a bit long in the tooth, it still feels and looks classy, sporty to drive with the 162 TSI doing 0-100 in 6.5s thanks to the dsg gearbox and great 2litre turbo. EOFY deals now mean even better value 👌

That's due to semiconductor shortages that's currently plaguing the market. Apparently they have reduced the prices of all their variants by a small amount as well, in order to accommodate the lack of features.

The fact is that Volkswagen's cars are reliable within the first 100,000 km if you maintain it very well and you are lucky enough to avoid factory mistakes. If you are buying a used Volkswagen car, the driving experience is much more related to the maintenance record of the previous owner.

Are you sure ? When did u buy / take delivery of your Kodiaq ? This is the recently arrived facelifted Tiguan Allspace Skoda very recently released facelifted Kodiaq in Australia Kodiaq Style model is $ 53 k On road But needs the Tech & Luxury Pack to have same spec as this Tiguan Elegance model. The Kodiaq Style would then be about $ 64 k on road, with metallic paint. Kodiaq Style & Sportsline only have a 132 kw / 320 nm petrol motor. This Tiguan is 147 tdi diesel motor, which is $ 57,190 plus On road costs. It’s on road price would be slightly less then a new Kodiaq Style with the option packs needed to give it similar spec, to this Tiguan Elegance. And, a Tiguan Elegance is cheaper if u choose the petrol motor. U save $ 1,500 and get a 162 tsi petrol motor 162 kw / 350 nm A Tiguan with the same 132 kw / 320 nm petrol motor ( which is same petrol motor that’s in the Style / Sportsline Kodiaq ) is under $ 50 k. Plus options and on road costs. You aren’t comparing apples to apples.. Your Kodiaq might have a lot of stuff, but, it has a less powerful motor, compared to a cheaper Tiguan 162tsi Elegance ? And, in Elegance spec, the Tiguan has similar features to the optioned up Kodiaq Style model… Kodiaq is great car But Now Petrol only Only 320 nm, in the Style or Sportsline models, or 370 nm in the RS model. At least with this model Tiguan, u can get diesel Much better economy in all situations And with 400 nm of torque, it’s got grunt, particularly when loaded up with passengers etc

These 7-seaters today are not 7-seaters by any means. I don't know how they pass the health and safety regulations as a 7-seater car. I don't wish any child to be in the third row in case of an accident. The warning lights are not a good thing too. That failure needs to be addressed in case a recall is required. Again, safety first. Diesel is dying faster than petrol, but appreciate the driver's digital screen. Nice car that will age gracefully.
