awesome video Oom Johan, I've seen loads of breeders selling incorrect types but yesterday i viewed 2 American breeders with lovely dogs - the lips were tight - well balanced and the best is that they spoke about the faults of their dogs as well as the good points.
Thank you for another great video. I check for new videos every day. I watched the previous one about the black dogs several times. After this video i am even more convinced that we need to save the breed. The problem at this point is where does a new breeder begin? Where do we find dogs that we can start with and move forward with?
I have never cared much for Dog Shows. They prove nothing, but what is the dog look fancy of the day. For $$$ purposes only. The greatest dog show available is in the bush, forest, home, and working. It's the only way I have found to see if a dog is what he/she is supposed to be. My boy has a couple of Faults that "I" see. Such as longer lips and back not as straight as you have described. But still, he is Perfect to "Me". Please keep informing us so we can SAVE our chosen friends.
I agree. Dogs are raised in kennels and used as production animals. Most breeders never handle their own dogs, not even to show them. Health is something that gets ignored for as long as there are no return puppies and the dog looks good on a picture. I believe Boerboels should be tested for health issues as far as possible.
The SABBS is the appointed Breeders Society in the Republic of South Africa. You will have to follow their rules to register such a dog. They have registered dogs coming from 'unknown' parents in the past, after their procedure was followed, so it should be possible.
Hi John, my apologies. I really neglected the email inquiries. We had a double cyclone in Mozambique and I got incredibly busy with an agri project. I managed to reply to about 40% of the inquiries a few days ago and hope to be able to do the rest on Friday. Again.... I plead guilty.....
