Great to see some of the more remote areas of Japan. Weather-wise we have had exactly the opposite problem with regard to rain. Wales had 158.2mm, about 6" of rainfall in March and this bad weather has pretty much continued since then. Wish I saw more Bullfinches, they are not a bird I commonly see, although perhaps I should be checking fruit trees more regularly. Lovely captures as always especially the Black Kite footage.
Thank you so much. Like you I like wilderness but can’t get there often. This time I was glad to go but the mountains here lack rainfall. Let’s hope that El Niño will not last too long. Very best wishes and thank you 🙏 !👋👋😊😊‼️
Thank you so much for your kind words. This part of Japan is completely into the El Niño drought problem and birds are attracted to the puddles or where water remains. We hope for a rainy season but last year there was none. Birds know about that and of course it’s hard for them as well as for the vegetation. The wind is also unusually strong. Some birds manage to live on the seeds fallen on the ground or buds (especially if they taste sweet !). I do thank you for watching and wish you a good new week.👋👋😊😊‼️
Thank you very much for your kind words.Summer migrating birds have not arrived and winter birds are heading north. It’s the beginning of spring and invisible birds singing loudly ! Very good luck in your birding.👋👋😊😊‼️
A beautiful video, Patricia. I really enjoyed seeing all those colorful birds. The cormorants in breeding plumage as well as the colony were spectacular. The foliage was great following that raptor. Thank you for this lovely video. Joan
Thank you so much , Joan. It’s really kind of you to check on the video. I hadn’t much in the vegetation area because the mountain was very dry and too cold for the season. We had some rain so I hope flowers and leaves will start to appear. Awaiting for your always great videos, I renew my thanks and wish you a good beginning of spring. 🙏🙏😊😊
Thank you very very much.😊😊👋👋🙏🙏‼️
Water is very precious, our ponds are drying out and our irrigation pond which is refilled with bore water is becoming very popular with the wildlife in the surrounding area. When a precious resource dwindles animals have to be resourceful or perish. We mostly don't appreciate just how tough it is out there. I love your footage of the black kite in flight too👍
Thank you for writing. It sure is tough with the climate crisis. Weather has become really capricious and it’s impossible to forecast anything.Still animals and mankind must find a way and industries a compromise. Let’s be hopeful but we can’t kid ourselves. Thank you indeed for writing. And for the videos I watch from your side. Best of luck as it’s really is necessary.
The water level of the dam lake in my town has become very low as well. There are places where the normally unseen lakebed is now visible. I hope that this won't affect our lives and the natural environment in the future. Ruribitaki with its beautiful blue color is indeed lovely. There are many cormorants too. I have the impression that the population of these birds is increasing year by year. Over the past few days, I have been feeling a bit of a spring atmosphere during the day, but it is still quite cold in the mornings and evenings. Please take care of yourself.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Indeed the water situation is worrying. I went birding to a river 2 days ago and half the bottom of the river was dry. The 1st time in 13 years. It’s going to be hard to find birds or healthy vegetation if El Niño continues like that. Global warming isn’t a joke and now all the trees along the rivers are cut down. It’s getting harder and harder to find birds and nature like it was before. Let’s be hopeful but it’s difficult. Please take good care of your health. Thank you very much for all the beauty in your videos.👋👋😊😊🍀🍀‼️
