Pastor Kelly: *Which body was inspired by the Holy Spirit*: the *advisory committee* that proposed the non-ordination of women *or the General Conference* (I assume) that gave choices to local conferences? It cannot be both.
Wasted four years discussing something Paul actually answered in one Bible verse. First Corinthians 14:36 . Absolutely think it’s ironic that a church that quotes a woman from the pulpit almost every sermon doesn’t understand Paul’s use of sarcasm in this text. Did the Holy Spirit fall on men only? Was the gospel commission for men only? Doesn’t God need ALL his people to be about their Father’s business? Why did Ellen White refuse ordination? She said God , Himself ordained her and man doing so was a waste of time. She also said we must account for every wasted moment to God . There were a number of women very active in the early church history both in Jesus’s day and in 1844 (the Great Awakening )and there will be in this last great movement see Joel 2:28-29. Satan loves the diversion the subject has created and the decision made that cuts God’s workforce by at least half. But we’ve seen this before when pharaoh killed off the male children assuming the deliverance couldn’t come if he killed the male population. He also felt the Christian/ Israelite women would just marry into the heathen population and not be a threat. But , when all hands are on deck and everyone puts all their energy into God’s work we will see Joel 2:23 come to pass and the latter rain will fall and afterwards our sons and daughters will prophesy . Then, WHOSOEVER calls on the name of the Lord shall be delivered.
