This channel is so great and what you were speaking about in the ~ 25min range means a lot as well. People will buy so many gimmicks that don’t make their bike better or more reliable but think bc an influencer uses it that they/we need it. Thanks for separating the wheat from the chaff
It uses the map switch from the XC and the SX bikes. They are around $140+ retail. KTM has them on a NO ETA back order. It is plug and play. Has a plug below the dashboard.
14/45 sounds like crazy high gearing, but isn’t on this particular bike since the transmission has lower gearing to compensate for it. This is something I’ve personally wanted for years. The pie plate size rear sprockets get beat to hell since they hang down so far, a smaller one is a very welcome change imo
Looking forward to your review. I’ve ridden 300 W’s for quite a few years and just switched to a ‘24 XC. My main complaint about the W is the large gap between second and third gear - almost always felt like I was in the wrong gear. Happy NBD, Zach!
As an owner of 2 stroke street bikes an oil injection and oil tanks. I have learned when filling them oil tanks up. Poor a little bit then stop for a moment repeat. It helps from pouring too much in and having it overflow everywhere wasting oil etc.
I really enjoyed my 18 XCW, except the suspension valving, they came with a nice tool kit and owners manual in a binder for keeping track of service and mods. I had to add the map switch but fan was plug and play. Bought a new 23 TX300 which came with a dongle a spoke wrench and fuel line screens, fan requires harness, I did like the dash on W for keeping track of miles ridden. Always a trade off between models, waiting to see how I like the different gear box ratios for single track.
I won't be buying a new enduro bike for a long time(at my age, maybe never again 🤔) but I do like to keep an eyeball on what's up with the latest & greatest. 👍
You’re a great Boss Morgan!. Looking forward to real comparison of tge Xc & The Xc-w: Overall power, spread, 57 hp vs 49hp ,frame compliance over rough stuff, handling, stator capacity etc. Rippit Zach!
Mine hasn't been but quite a few have had issues with the 23's. I think its the combination of the cooler plug they came with (BR8ES) and a very rich map to start out.
Start button on the right is the way. Go on the right.... whoa on the left..... That tool kit is nice. My gas gas came with a link to download the manual and a dongle. Only tool was a suspension pump.
Great rundown. I'm pretty sure there will be a revised frame for '25 (same as BB and Lettie's bikes). The "Grumpy man" complained about his fav ultra forward mounting position missing but then went on to say how amazing the steering was on the new one. It's a good example about how excessive adjustability helps some "clowns" make their bike run/handle worse than stock 😛
The map switch debacle is a money grab. shame on you KTM. Another reason I made the switch to Beta, And LOVING them I got the 300 race and 500 RR-S. amazing machines !!!!!!!!
I really think it's great what you're doing for Zach like the way you described the bike I'd rather mix my gas myself my son just bought a new 23 gas gas ex 300 tbi it runs great I'm just old fashioned I like knowing my oil in the gas myself that the main reason I went 4stroke last year if had known what was coming out in 23 I would probably stayed 2stroke but im happy with my fx 350 put a recluse on it I can do bout what ever I want on it easier now had my suspension done im 62 don't ride like I did years ago I just like the way you do things you have the best channel out there
I have a 23 Husqvarna TX 300 and honestly I don't notice the difference in the white or green map. It is an awesome machine. Huskies actually come with a map switch.
Hey thanks for the video. Bought one from Fators in Redding CA on 6/22. Put 4 hrs on it at Chapple (Shasta dam). Came off 08 450 exc. Bike is way better than me. Gearing seems primo, second gear starts on some o**** hills. Take a variable speed electric motor and call it a 2 smoke.. It's a diesel. The 4t fad is fading... Will be checking on your next vids. Thanks again
The 13-45 gearing isn't that much different than 14-49. It's 3.46:1 ratio vs 3.5:1 on the XCs. Just a touch taller. I noticed the Elko symbol on the cylinder. The 24XCs are coming with kymco. With the 23XC being Elko. Curious if they are different as well
"Spicy" That's awesome. I think that this bike or the beta 300rr will be my next bike. Love what you are doing and how you help all of us figure things out. Keep being helpful.
I can’t believe anyone would think a motorcycle that cost over 11K should come with a map switch. I would Guess the cost to KTM for that map switch is less than 10 dollars each.🙄🙄🙄👎🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
@@baldknobby WOW . I Remember 2008 was the first year KTM had the 2 map switch feature and I think KTM sold the switch for $80 dollars . Are you could buy a switch from a aftermarket company for 20 dollars, which is what I did.
everybody's bangin' on about the sprockets .... i don't got a new one, but i believe KTM changed the gearbox on the new ones ..... i can't find a new manual, somebody look and see the difference in the old gearbox ratios and these new ones ..... no way my '17 XC is gonna run 14/49 ......
Maybe it's already in the 240 odd prior comments but will the rad guards, skid plates etc for the 23/24 XC fit the 24 XC-W? I've got one coming and no one seems to know.
Thanks for the review man! Appreciate it!. Sitting here trying to figure out what to buy. Problem is the used market is crap for re-sell and I can get a screaming deal on a 23 XC. Think I'm going to go that route. I just need to get off the fence and list my bike to get there.
Morgan, do you know if stator and flywheel will be interchangeable with xc and tx models? Hoping I didn’t screw up on my 23 tx. Later on found out there’s barely any extra for lights etc. debating selling for the te
you got that right, Dealers here in Vegas are insane. I bought two bikes this year and tried both times to buy from Carter, they would not deal reasonably.
@@dont3761 Yep! Tried to give them a chance! Carter used to be a great Mom & Pop before they moved from Tropicana to their new "Presidential Palace" off South Decatur. Not paying close to 12K for a 300SX. Myself and a riding buddy just picked up two new 2024 300SX's from Langston Motorsports out of Perris, Ca. for 9.2K each out the door. No sales tax because we are Nevada residents. Doron Urbach was the sales representative that gave us the deal! We got to meet Grant Langston. River Rats in Bullhead, AZ was the next best at MSRP OTD.
So the 13/45 gearing would mean they changed the primary gearing. Lets see the clutch and how it changed. With a faster clutch rpm I wonder if the feel would change. There will be a trade off for Clutch longevity / Heat built up and a more protected rear sprocket.
Meh, not impressed. Thanks for the review man. For me I’m going with a 2023 YZ 250x. Interested to see if this Ktm has good front end bite with the spring forks.
Can you get a camera gembl, vids are so all over = headache. Love the channel!!! Tell Zach he made an awesome purchase and he looks great on the bike, you can tell he's a good rider, good form etc. Cant wait to see and follow the vids on this bike. Will they be better than Jeff''s vids? Can you avoid the mountain bikers🤣 Make it great guys!
Well hopefully its a magic bike . For me lots has to change headlight has to go to fit a saw rack and a small led under it. I have to have pre mix in the tank to fill sed saw , ill need a big tank for 100 mile days .I'm sure it will need lower gearing to match what my old bike does with 13,53. I sure hope it has enough stator to run real lights and grip heaters and still start as its got no option for kick.
Oh man I thought Zack got Loretta how sweet. No Braketec nice. Dunlop and Bridgestone interesting I would think one or the other not a mix. Now he will be in the reserves and you will be breaking it for Zack.
It's Dunlops front and rear, MX33 front, AT81 rear. I love the Braketecs on my 23 Husky enduro bike, way softer clutch pull than Brembo and I feel the front brake has better modulation for slow technical riding. The Brembo front brake on my KTM 450 has more stopping power for sure but is way more grabby, and the clutch is stiffer but has shorter throw, so better suited for gate drops and racing. It's cool KTM has options for different types of riding.
Hell has frozen over, a KTM dirt bike with a factory headlight that is bright! 😆 Have ridden one of these, they are more XC like, smooth and grunty off the bottom but with aggressive power delivery as the revs come up and the throttle is wound. I liked the engine lots.
Sick bike! 🔥 I think im going to get a lightly used one hopefully for a good deal next year. What other similiar bikes you would recommend? I never rode a dirt bike, and im in my 40s, but i grew up on kid/teen bikes, so not really intimidated. I was originally thinking crf250f, Yamaha yz125x, but i dont want to outgrow the bike after a month. Not planning on doing racing. Just want a versitile bike to keep and enjoy for long time.
Yup oil injection is the only way to go if you're riding off road. Pre mix is fine for closed course. For what you pay that oil leak on the neck is unacceptable that's the last thing you want is oil leaking on your pipe.
Will you do a detailed review and comparison to ktm xcw 300 tpi 2023? I am concerned about OCU. On xcw 300 tpi 2023 you changed the fuse, will you be able to repair problems by yourself now with this OCU and how? Plastic subframe is also a concern. Tnx for most relevant info about this bike so far😊
Congradulations on the new bike.... I'm stoked to see your thoughts! Is the S3 rear brake spring worth it...... or is it a gimmick? It would be nice to get a little more rear brake feel.
You say CANNOT get to the plug with tank on…as in we foul a plug at starting line and have to remove the tank?! Basically race over at that point. In the past it’s been difficult, but I’ve always been able to modify an existing wrench (cut/grind/weld/etc) to make it work. Can you envision any sort of work around?
Wow! Time will tell, maybe it won’t turn out to be a big deal. My ‘23 300 TPI is pushing 25 hours on stock plug with no indication of problems. And I let it idle for at least 5 minutes every cold start…till radiator hot. But sounds like scheduled plug changes may be a new thing in the future…little extra expense not so bad versus the prospect of a DNF. Thanks for all you do, and keep it real man, can’t watch those other guys who keep trying to sell bunch of stuff I don’t need. Real solutions for real problems always appreciated!
Got my 24 last week, it is replacing a 21 erzberg. I wonder if clamps would swap out an if theyre on the same rake? Erzberg has billet clamps and two sets of holes for bar clamps. Im 6'3 an alway rode the 21 in furthest hole foward. Not alot of info out on these bikes, glad u got one. Thoughts?
@@highlandcycles I probably need to adjust my riding style to the bike. I definitely don't wanna change handling of the bike. Coming from my 21 W this bike is awesome, forks and motor is awesome!
Interesting gearing . Although a 13/45 is only 1.1% less torque at a final ratio of 3.46 vs 3.50 than the 14/49 and a 14/48 is 1% less torque than the 13/45 and a gear ration of 3.43.
I just bought one Friday and went riding Saturday, I love it! It feels really nice everywhere. I think i heard that these come shipped with the advanced map if they do not have the switch like the hard enduro ones do... Im curious to have a definite answer :)
Sweet! now I can not worry about getting the switch and focus on all the guards LOL THis is my first injected bike, i cant believe the throttle response! @@highlandcycles
Right on man - great looking bike. Personally Im the guy that loves the oil injection, never owned a 2T as a primary bike until my ‘20 TX300i because I didn’t want to screw around with premix. I love rolling up to a pump and filling it up. But the black tank as you pointed out is dumb. Are those billet triple clamps?
I just bought the 2024 KTM 300XC-W from Edge Powersports here in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mine came with Black triple clamps. They told me KTM ran out of the cast ones. I scored big time. I got the sick black billet triple clamp at no additional price. Now I just want summer to get here. 🤘🤙🙌👍💪
If you ever figure out how that trip meter works and want to make a video about that......I def wouldn't be mad about it...haha. I can't figure the thing out on my 24 XC-W and I haven't found a single video on here on them.
