As an owner, I still watch every review that drops on this car lol. It’s been a blast since August best 54k I’ve ever spent hands down not a single regret.
Did I see an MDX Type S at the start of your Video? When is that review Coming? I have my Order for Integra Type S and it's coming in July White with Bronze RIms. Really excited for the car, Civic Type R everyone wanted more money so i Settled for TypeS since I got it on MSRP. Your review was great, I wish my car was here so I could enjoy it but Winter is almost here so good thing it's coming in July so I can enjoy it in Summer Next year.
Thanks, Haha it's a very nice MDX. Hopefully I'll get a chance to properly review it in 2024. Bronze rims with white is a great combo for the ITS, delivery after winter would be awesome!
Nicely done! One of the best videos about this awesome car. Well done Honda, a perfect product. We are so lucky to have it in the USA. Hope they sell like hotcakes. Now, if only I can come up with the dough...
i own the type s and brother owns the fl5. the type is more raw thanks to one less resonator. And of course the acura is more luxury did you just learn how to drive a car and just make all of this up? What a pleeb
WOW!!! New subscriber after this video!!! your specs and information on the similarities and differences between the two cars is impressive to say the least!!! How and where you getting this info?? Car has been out for about 6 months and 100’s of videos made and you’re bringing info to the table no one has even mentioned… stamping of the sheet metal and it’s rigidity, seat height , firewalls, etc. 👍 great work and thank you!! Oh ya both cars are awesome too 😎😂. Either way you can’t lose no matter which you choose !! Win Win for Honda/Acura and a definite win for your viewers!!
What if I don't want the crackles and pops from the exhaust. I can't understand why anyone would want their car to sound like it's backfiring. No hate if you do like that, I'm just wondering how I could mitigate/eliminate it?
Awesome review, I used to have a 2001 integra type r and this new one is pretty nice. After driving a boatload of cars, the one thing i cant get past is it being fwd. It is a fun car but for 55-60k there are other options i would rather have. Like the bmw m340i x drive is a monster (albeit no manual). I wish the type S had acuras SAWD.
Well, in fact, it seem that the fastest FWD and hot hatch production car is the Renault Megan Trophy. I mean, it's half a second behind the Civic, but there is no hint that it cheated, unlike the Civic. And I own a Civic, I know that it's a really good car, but facts are facts.
Maybe it's just me, the Type S seems like a waste and it is missing that $7k added price over the Type R. No electric trunk, only 5 added horsepower, maybe a weak HUD display, and non-aggressive changing gauge seems like it is lacking features that should be there for $7k. I'd get the Type R and save that money.
The only problem is that dealers are marking up the Type R to the same price of, if not more than, the Type S so no cost savings in buying the Type R. I live in South Florida and the dealer markups for both cars are insane.
I found an ITS for less than the typical CTR. 🤷🏻♂ @daviddoan9447 7K gives you -Rain Sensing wipers -Longer Warranty -Wider Powerband (Check Savagegeese review includes dyno of both cars) -Cooler Exhaust Note -Leatherette Interior -HUD -Door Sill Plates -Radar Sensors in the bumpers -Sound Deadening -Aggressive body kit -Premium Sound System -Powered Driver Seat with plenty of adjustments -Heated Front Seats Among other things. I don't know you but in my book, that upcharge isn't that crazy. In the end the CTR is more expensive anyway.
In Canada its impossible to get MSRP for type R hahaha, but 70K for a front wheel drive type S???i think also lots of player will say no to this as well, cuz at this point it just way too many AWD car to pick. its just bad marketing for type S i think. Should be + tax +everything= 60K that would be a killer price.
I considered a ITS heavily but ultimately went with a CTR last month. The interior of the Type R just makes you feel like you’re sitting in something truly special compared to the Type S which is a bit underwhelming especially since MSRP starts at over $8k more. The seats, racing odometer, data log and I realized the R is going to have better resale value than the S years from now. The ITS is still a great car in its own right though.
They are both great cars, but I got an fl5, and it's an awesome car. I want a more sports car experience, not really into luxary cars, but to each their own.
I am between this and m240i xdrive. Would you pick one over the other? Looks like for 9 more than the Integra at msrp I can get a basically fully optioned m240i xdrive so I am at a dilemna.
M240i xDrive if you want the faster, more comfortable luxury car, and if you want to slide it. Type S is the better handling in general for autocross and tracking, also more space. Personally I'd take the M240i
I got mine at MSRP, and all of the CTR's I cross shopped it against had markups that brought it to the same price or higher. I waited several months until I found a dealer in driving distance of where I live that was willing to do a deal at MSRP. This was last September when I bought it, and I bet now you can find many more around MSRP. Full disclosure, I have an s2k that I track, but this car is so good I'm seriously considering taking it to the track this spring. It's that good!@@Sleepygarage
They both are outrageously expensive lol I ain't paying anything over 35k for a Honda. 2017 si coup till IT DIES. If I was gonna spend that kind of money on a car it definitely won't be for a Honda.
Dope ass Integra, Acura could really reinvent themselves if they brought back the legendary legend, of course wit the right OG designer mindset to do the job right. Maybe one day
Type R is so ugly to me I never understood how someone can pay that price range for that car, sure looks fun I'm not going to debate this, but I'd almost rather any other damn car for the same price
interior was a huge let down for me, its the same as the base civic LX, where as the TLX interior has the hint of NSX. Also the tail lights are far too underwhelming, like a last gen genesis. Over all, I just can't see myself even considering this thing
Honda spent years creating a near perfect street/track weapon that punches above its class basically saying the Type R is the best car that Honda has to offer you! Let that sink in for bit
I like the Acura but the bottom line is actually $9,000 and some change over the type R. I like the looks of the Civic better, the seats are better, it's lighter, the Civic wide body is built into the body and doesn't look tacked on like the Acura, I might however like the softer Acura suspension module better. Even if they were the same price I think I'd still buy the type R. I'm glad Acura is back and it's a nice option for some people.
When i get my job coming up in the next couple of months, I'm still getting a Type-R. However, they are rare so at the same time im going to be searching for an Integra Type-S. Whichever i find first is what I'm getting. I don't really care about the luxury features of the Integra, but even if i end up with a Type-R, im gonna replace the suspension module with the Integra Type-S cause i hear its just overall better on both the street and track. Its not the same with an Acura badge, its the luxury Type-R.
you are sitting TOO FAR back for yourself, sit more up right is gonna be better for you.🧐 You just look like you are struggling to extend your arms to shift which is no good. your wrist should comfotablely sit on the top of the steering wheel with your arm in a natural position.
Does the Type S have the same engine as the Type R ? The Type R doesn't have counter balancers and my Honda Accord 2.0 turbo does have counter balancers for a smoother running engine.
Road & Track PCOTY says otherwise (as far as price goes). Also, as I stated in response to another comment: The experts picked the ITS--better gearbox, better steering, better brakes, better chassis/weight/handling, better practicality, better reliability . . . Seems the BMW's only advantages are powerful engine and more luxurious interior (if you can afford to pay to equip it similarly to the ITS).
@@willbobig Unless you’re going to drift around with a RWD or AWD car then it makes no difference. One can argue why spend 65k on an unreliable vehicle, while the Acura Integra is 53k USD? Anyone can spend 8k on tuning and add ons on the base model Acura Integra starting at 31k to achieve the same features, level of performance, and more for a total of $39k.
1. Physics; push vs pull - will always be a factor. 2. Climate (I get snow here). 3. Cheaper built, still an economy car at the end of the day. Not saying this to be a hater, I'm sure the car is brilliant to drive, just for the price I would for sure end up with a 240.@@lionedheart
Even though I'm an old man I would go for the Type R. They've toned down the appearance and I'd take the savings given the performance and live with the harsher ride. Also, that thing ain't keeping up with a Type R driven on track. 3:03 - "S" 😇
Its a cool car but wouldn't say this carries the same amount of sreet cred that the Type R has. I've seen like 3 Type S' in Ontario so far but only seen 2 FL5 Type R here. 1 parked in front of a private hotel and another grounded in the dealership due to back order on its fuelpump And I'd also say the dealerships here are mostly family-owned and not directly linked to Honda Japan or whatever and so if they tell you they're not selling a Type R to you for anything less than $25K+ markup, there's nothing you can do to take it up with Honda HQ really. - Thought therebwas canadian regulation against markups by auto sellers though ? The Honda Motocompacto also released in the US 2 weeks ago, went to a Honda dealership in the GTA to ask if they had any and all the sales reps on the showroom floor were all stunned when i showed them the video of it, they said they hadn't received any communication from Honda on the release of it. I think it will make good content for you to cover what the purchase process of the Motocompacto for a Canadian enthusiast looks like and if folks should cop the Motocompacto for quick rides to places around their neighborhood. Cheers
