After thoroughly testing the Armada ARV 94 last season, we jumped at the opportunity to give the 100 a go. We spent a good amount of time on it last year, but really put it through the paces in the past month and a half. Enjoy!

Was going to get the ranger 102, decided on the ARV 100 instead. Super pumped, great review!

Will these skis work on rocks...? have you tested them on rocks? We have a lot of rocks on the hills in BC right now. 🙂
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 5 месяцев назад
I've tested them on east coast rocks, but our rocks are much older than your rocks, so it's tough to say 😉

Great review. Contemplating getting this ski. I mainly ski Whistler and North Coast Mountains BC. Not an aggressive skier. prefer mid-speed and playing groomers/side hits with some off-piste/tree skiing. I currently ski a Rossi Soul 7 106 for everything and looking for a more fun light ski. Would you recommend this ski or perhaps the 94 (I'm leaning to the 100). I'm 5'7 130lbs and thinking of the 165 length
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 3 месяца назад
I think the 94 makes a better complement to the Soul 7, just to emphasize the difference more and make this ski stand out as a playful and agile option. I'd say 164 in the 94 would be great.

Where would you mount these if your using them more for there play free ride and off piste capabilities rather than the park
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 5 месяцев назад
They have two lines, and I'd go to the further back one for less park.

I've always been dubious of core weight in skies. Add the weight of the core, fiberglass, resin, base material, steel edges, sidewall, top layer and then the binding and boots...the percent difference between a ''heavy'' and ''light'' core becomes indistinguishable.
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 5 месяцев назад
You're right, and I'd also include the core thickness to the mix as well. While it's not a huge factor when it comes to weight, since it is the foundation of the ski, it has a lot more to do with the feel.

What is more appealing to you Armada arv94 or arv 100 and why?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 5 месяцев назад
The 100 has more appeal due to the width--it works great here in Vermont and there's not a big loss in park performance.

I don't practice park. I do slope and off-pist. Is an Armada 100 a good chouce to add some fun to my pratice ? Or should I keep my money
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 4 месяца назад
I'd think the 94 is a bit of a better option if you're mixing on-piste and playful applications.

what is main difference between nightstick 97 and arv 94?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 5 месяцев назад
The Fischer has metal underfoot and that makes a difference for sure, especially in terms of weight--the Fischer is a heavier ski. It also has more early taper in the tips and tails, so the ski feels like it has a shorter effective edge. .

What you love about Armada Arv 100 and Chronic 101 more and what is the main difference to you?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 5 месяцев назад
The energy and pop of the ARV 100 is amazing--this ski rips turns and it's an incredibly rewarding ski to be on. The Chronic is smoother and more playful, especially with the softer flex in the tips and tails. The consistency of the flex is the biggest difference, as the ARV is very consistent while the Chronic is a lot more progressive and variable.

Super interested in the new Declivity X 102.....please review and compare to Rangers and Enforcers
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 3 месяца назад
We have been very impressed so far with the new 102. Haven't spent enough time for a full review, but just like the outgoing Declivity 102, the new X is one of our favorites in this division--stronger and more stable than the ranger, while lighter and more mobile than the Enforcer.
@jarednelson4272
@jarednelson4272 3 месяца назад
@@SkiEssentials How's the tail release on the new DX102? I like how loose the Rangers are and didn't like how locked in the old enforcers were (I know they increased the splay for 24/25).
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 месяца назад
@@jarednelson4272 I'd say it's in the middle of the Ranger and Enforcer. You still definitely know the tail is there, especially in the release phase of the carved turn, but in the softer snow, it's not locked in.

How would you compare these to the Elan playmaker?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 4 месяца назад
Very similar. The Elan has a longer rocker profile and a slightly lighter swing weight--the Playmakers are insanely mobile. I think there's a bit more pop and pep to the Armadas, so if you do spend some time on-trail, you'll get a better performance level here.
@Bizzbid
@Bizzbid 5 месяцев назад
How does it compare to liberty origin ?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 5 месяцев назад
The Origin feels more flexible and freeridey while the ARV is a bit poppier and more all-mountain.

ARV 100 or 2025 bent 100. Which is better for 80% park 20% all mountain. How similar do they ride?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 месяца назад
I'd say the ARV is the better park ski as it has more of a true twin tip feel, even with the added tail rocker for 2025 in the Bent. The Bent feels smoother and happier in various turn shapes and styles while the ARV has more pop and pep to it. It's a bouncier ski with better energy.

@@SkiEssentials thanks again. We are really trying to narrow down what ski my fiancé might like and you all have answered multiple questions for me over the past month or so. The battle of the 2025 bent 90, 25 bent 100 and ARV 100 begins. I’d say ARV but after a hard crash last weekend she is leaning away from park a bit and it looks like the 25 100 will be the ski she gravitates to for next season.
