Hello Nurse Cheung! I have a question about mitosis telophase and cytokinesis. During the telophase, they were just chromatids in the separate nuclear envelopes (as for the images), but in cytokinesis they become chromosomes? I got a little confused!
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung 18 дней назад
Hi Bestie! I can see how that can be confusing. Let’s clarify what happens during telophase and cytokinesis in mitosis: Telophase: During this stage, the chromatids that were previously pulled apart during anaphase reach opposite poles of the cell. Each set of these chromatids, now at the poles, begins to decondense and return to a less tightly coiled state. At the same time, nuclear envelopes start to form around each set, thereby creating two new nuclei. Each set of chromatids is now enclosed in its own nucleus and begins to be referred to again as chromosomes. So, by the end of telophase, each daughter nucleus contains a full set of chromosomes. Cytokinesis: This is the process that follows telophase and involves the division of the cytoplasm to form two separate daughter cells. Cytokinesis typically overlaps with the end of telophase. The chromosomes remain within their respective nuclei and do not change form during cytokinesis; the focus here is on physically separating the cytoplasm and cell membrane, ensuring that each new daughter cell has its own cellular machinery and identical genetic material enclosed in a nucleus. To summarize, the chromatids are called chromosomes once they have successfully been separated and enclosed in new nuclear envelopes at the end of telophase. These chromosomes maintain their status during cytokinesis, which focuses on dividing the cytoplasm and completing the physical separation into two distinct cells. I hope this clears up the confusion! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

I have my teas coming up the ending of June and I am very nervous, people I talk with telling me its very hard and what we learn or study is different from what they give on the exam.
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung 4 месяца назад
It's totally normal to feel nervous before a big exam like the TEAS, especially when you hear from others that it might be tough. Remember, everyone's experience with the test can vary quite a bit depending on their preparation and strengths. The best way to combat this anxiety is to focus on your preparation. Make sure to review all sections thoroughly, take practice tests to get used to the format and timing, and focus on understanding concepts rather than just memorizing facts. Also, don't hesitate to use various resources that match your learning style-videos, practice questions, and study guides can all be incredibly helpful. You've got this! Keep a positive mindset, and give it your best shot.

I am sorry to hear that. Prioritize your study time based on your weakest areas. You can use condensed study materials like the Nurse Cheung Complete Study Guide, which provides a clear breakdown of essential topics and practice questions. Watching educational videos, especially on topics you find challenging, can also be a very effective way to refresh your knowledge and keep the information engaging. Finally, try to keep your study sessions short and focused-about 1-2 hours at a time to avoid burnout. And remember, it’s okay to be nervous, but with some dedicated study time each day, you’ll improve your chances greatly. Hang in there, and good luck!

It sounds like you're feeling really overwhelmed right now, and it's completely understandable to want to be fully prepared before taking the TEAS. Postponing the test to give yourself more time to study might help you feel more confident and ready. Use this extra time to focus on your Math and Science sections. It might help to break down the topics into smaller parts and tackle them one by one. Remember, it's okay to take the time you need to feel ready. You're making a responsible decision by choosing to prepare more thoroughly. Keep pushing forward, and don't hesitate to seek out additional resources or help if you need it. You can do this!
