That's the trick. Do NOT listen to the dealer about the 10000 mile oil change, I learned that lesson when I had to have carbon deposits removed from the engine in my 2015. My 2020 gets an oil change every 5000 miles.
My only qualm with this car is that the Mazda 3 Premium Plus Hatch AWD Turbo exists. This Audi really hits it out of the park in a lot of ways, but it’s not measurably better than the Mazda offering that costs substantially less fully loaded. I would absolutely own this car if I was independently wealthy and could dump it when the warranty was up, but I’m not so I’ve gotta go with the direct JDM competitor. Edit: I just looked up where the superior S3 starts at, and that added $14k over the base 3 is hard to swallow.
I was tempted by the A3 but needed more room so bought A4. Personally these are the only Audis I would buy and keep; I had A6 and the bigger 6 or 8 cyl ones are just too expensive to maintain. The 4 cyl ones cost just a bit more than a VW and the epic level build quality is worth it.
I have never understood the "Entry Level" thing. I bought my first A3 because it was perfect for me. I bought my second because it was still perfect for me. I almost bought an A5 sportback in between the two, but it just wasn't right. It was too big for me, and I am 6'3". While the A5 is a lovely car and I thought I would want to buy one, it just didn't click. My current 2020 A3 hit the sweet spot and I love it. There is something special about the A3- for people who love small cars, it is just flawless. No other company makes a car like this.
Got a 2023 S3, coming from 2018 GLA45 AMG. New A3/S3 is way roomier with nice dash (Lambo design). S3 pulls harder than my old GLA45 and sounds much sportier. Audi new blind spot detection big amber light on the mirrors is such a smart design. One pull on shift level to go from D to S in any Drive mode is genius. Only complaint is Audi taking away the * button going into Drive mode selection (it was there on old version).
It is VW-ish, not a bad thing. I have a 2018 Golf and in the video there are a lot of similarities in the engine, window controls, et al. Same chassis as the GTI and Golf R, which means a really great ride and drive.
Ben, I recently bought a 2017 Audi A3 convertible (we lost both cars to Hurricane Ian). I liked the VWs we have owned and love the A3 as an island car. Nice design of the Audi and "it fits" character of the VW. Plus seats in back for the dogs. PS - thanks for the nice reviews every morning on my dog walk. Chuck
Nice looking car, need a diesel. That'll never happen again. and between the jetta and audi, I would choose the audi. I've had VW's in the past. The last was a 2019 Jetta. It was terrible. I kept less than one year. Low oil alert before 1st oil change was due, and then again before second was due. I decided to get rid of it while I could. Anyone else know about that?
I have the 2023 A3 not much of a difference, but what made me like the Audi A3 was the 2022 premium plus version because it had interior lights inside the car and you can change the color .. I wonder why they took it away from us
Hello. How do you like your A3 so far? what made you choose A3 model? I am deeply considering one with Premium Trim 2024 but still debating due to long term reliability, I plan on keeping my vehicle 10 years or more.
