I built my first custom arrows while I was stationed overseas in 2021 and decided to shoot every day until I could come back stateside and hunt. It was a dozen 4MM FMJs with AAE Hybrid 26s in a 4 fletch right helical. Today I still have 6 left, 3 practice, and 3 to hunt that have never been shot. So in 3 years 5 arrows broke at the half out from various impacts due to misses at longer distances into hard objects. The other one I never found last year after a full pass through on my first whitetail with a bow, on public! at 47 yds. For perspective I shoot on average 1-200 arrows a week almost year round. (I almost never shoot groups under 30yds) These things are BEASTS. I just ordered 12 more today with a few tweaks to draw length and FOC as I have learned some things in that time. I couldn't possibly justify swapping to another shaft, FMJs are just too good.
@BartTheSpartan 100% agree! Check out the latest short we just posted. Shot a White-tailed buck at 40 yards quartering to. Passthrough on ribs, liver, and through the back ham. Cleaned the arrow & spun it. After a broadhead replacement-ready to put back in the quiver.
