Looks like a fun ride! You should demonstrate the starting issue on a video - maybe the dealer or a subscriber can help diagnose the problem. Beta Rideability!
@keithbell8960 the stock map made it hard to start. It would take several button presses to start, especially when it was hot. We had the dealer remap it either the +100 rpm idle map, and it fixed the issue.
I am trying to decide between the 2024 350RS vs the 390RS. I am 300lbs and 6'2", and my previous experience is on a XR250R. I think the 390 may suit my basic riding skills better. With more low end torque it seems like it will go uphill easier, regardless of the gear you happen to be in.
@mk3driftmotion the 390s down low torque makes it much easier to cruise on/ trail ride. I don't think you would be upset either way. The 350 is really good also.
@@BAEnduro Thanks! Sounds like the 390 would suit me better, I will be mainly on forest roads and singletrack. I also noticed the 350 RS has a 13.2:1 compression ratio, that seems quite high for California 91 octane pump gas. I think the 390 RS may have a longer lifespan with 12.48:1 compression.
I just got mine on Saturday, it does not start like my KTM 350. I believe there is an update from the dealer for the ecu that makes them start better. It's way tall for my old short self, may have to lower it..
Alex found a blog post that said to but s battery tender on it and let it charge all the way up. Supposedly the batteries can be a little weak from the factory and this helps a lot
My 23' 390RR starts about the same as Alex's at 12:47. I've done the stepper motor reset and it didn't change anything. I do notice that if I bump the starter for a split second and let the fuel pump prime it seems to start right up when I hit it again. It could be a break in period thing as well because mine is a left over 23' and I haven't even made it through the first 3 hours yet. Picked it up 2 weeks ago. These 390's are awesome tho I love mine already.
Ya, we aren't too concerned about it yet. Hopefully the next time we are out it won't do it. Alex is very happy with his purchase as well and we are all a little jealous of it haha. The 350 Beta and the 390 are so far the only bikes I would be ok with trading my 300 for. Thanks for watching!
Depemds on the year I'd imagine. The headlight assembly and front fender are the same shape and mounting points, but the radiator shrouds might be different, so I'm not sure on that one. If your rs has the new radiator design, then they would probably fit.
