👋 In todays video we take a look at the 2024 BMW M240i!! But not just any BMW M240i, this is the exact car that my wife and I spec'd but we did decide to go with a BMW X5 for now! Maybe at some point I can revisit this car, because it's such a blast to drive! The 2024 BMW M240i is a four seater sportscar that utilizes the B58 engine which is found in the Toyota Supra!! Being the BMW version though, it only comes with the eight speed automatic, all wheel drive becomes available and there are multiple configurations depending on how you want to spec it! The BMW M240i is a practical sportscar for everyday driving! Being a BMW it's well refined, comfortable and reliable! The exterior on this BMW M240i is a brooklyn grey metallic, and aside from the color, it's pretty basic! However, you can spec these and option them being very well equipped!
The interior is very nice! Traditional BMW design! The latest model for the BMW M240i offers the larger curved gauge cluster and infotainment system and new shifter! I do like the new setup and it's super easy to use! The rest of the interior has a nice design and great materials!
The driving experience for this 2024 BMW M240i is great! It drives very similar to the automatic Toyota Supra! Handling will be similar, but it does weight more, but also has the x-drive all wheel drive system, so that can help carry more weight through the turns! I have been in the BMW M2 and 230i and those both drive very well, so with the M240i being in the middle, it's going to perform very nicely for the performance settings!
This would be a great daily driver and one that has a lot of potential for tuning!

I've had mine for a week and I will definitely attest to the 3.5 mark. I honestly think BMW severely under reports horsepower and track times to keep the higher level M car buyers from losing their minds. Lol

@@earlschandelmeier751nah, every car has more power under the hood than the stock data suggests. Jidt upgrade ecu+tcu would make 240i as fast as 440i.

@@ArthaxtaDaVince777 no offense but you don't seem to know what you're talking about. The 24i with x drive is . 3 seconds faster than a 44i according to car and driver. And according to BMW the 24i is between. 7 and . 4 seconds faster. The 24i x drive doesn't need mods to be faster. Lol

@@ArthaxtaDaVince777 This makes no sense. Both cars have the same engine, factory tune, and transmission. The M240 is slightly faster due to the lower weight.

I’ve got a 24’ in Melbourne Red and I love it. I added the M Performance Exhaust and in Sport + it’s my little race car! More than enough speed/power for daily driving that’s for sure.

I have it in Black since 2023 February . Perfect daily car. You can cruise perfect with it and in 2 Seconds you can turn it in Beast. I configured it with the Adative Dampers.

I traded my 2022 GR Supra Premium for the 2024 M240i. The Supra was insanely quick. The sounds the Supra made were incredible. Burbble, snap, pop... I just got the M240i. I needed a bit more space. Mine is the same color combo you have in the video, BK Grey and Cognac. It does drive great.

How does this compare to the M2 in terms of NVH and ride quality?

Similar ride quality overall. But the handling in the M2 is much sharper and the suspension can get much stiffer in the M2. Very different cars overall. M240 has a much softer side and cant get as hard core. But M2 is still a fine daily

Yeah I don't know why I kept saying that. The Supra is the Sportscar with the B58. But this is a great setup if you need practicality

@@BrosFOURRSpeed 100% I think between the b58, the 8-speed zf, the sub 4 second 0-60, over 37mpg (straight hwy), decent trunk, great interior, it’s hard to beat for sure. Cheers!

Ehh I would call it a sports car my 10r80 5.0 got dragged by one of these, I’d say it’s a luxury sports car the Supra on paper is borderline copy to the m240 trans engine suspension may be different but I wouldn’t dismiss them entirely

@@leonseed4464 don’t forget that this borderline copy as you say weighs over 300 lbs more than the Supra. And trust me, I’m not dogging the m240i. I love mine and I hurt feelings of muscle cars on the regular off the line (clocked a 3.7 0-60 on all-weathers with a passenger). But it’s not a sports car. It’s a sporty entry-luxury coupe that does a lot of things well.

Those are both going to be about the same to be honest. You’d really have to drive them back to back to tell any differences. But just depends if you need the functional back doors or not!

Depends on if you want the more power. Personally I'd go 240 since I'm used to fast cars. But the 230 is still quick and more economical

@@BrosFOURRSpeed The 230 is lighter with the smaller engine have slightly better handling don’t you think? Plus it’s rear wheel drive. Here in Oz the 240 are all X drive only. Guess I need to test drive 😌

@@philipn5162 Honestly driving them you won’t feel a handling difference. As long as you have the M Soort package, they’ll feel similar. We have RWD and xDrive here. But the extra power helps get out of turns better and overall will be more fun and performance oriented. So drop on what you need

@@donnharlem9604 wife and I will never own a minivan..but just wasn’t going to be happy with the 240 at this time, since I have an R8 and GR86, didn’t want a third sportscar when I could buy my wife’s dream suv. ..I needed something to tow with before my Tacoma comes next year and the 240 can’t tow..

I went up to a high gear for cruising, nothing wrong with that..with your logic, you’d be going top speed by the time you got to 8th gear. I’d rather be in 8th gear at 45mph than in 4th, less stress on the engine and better mpg, for cruising situations.

@BrosFOURRSpeed I'd never get to 8th because you can cruise just fine at 5 or 6 given the speed you were going. The car may allow you to do it but that is not taught anywhere sir. The powerband is 3500 for third and 4th so 5th or 6th is way more reasonable than jumping from 3rd to 8th immediately. 7th and 8th gear is not just for causing, its for HIGH speed cruising. How fast were you going? If the revs are bellow 2000 - 2500 there is no reason to shift again sir. Improper use of equipment, there's cars back in the day that would shit a chicken if you did that.

@@LLTK22 You can’t compare old technology to modern vehicles. You Shift how you want and I’ll do the same. There is zero harm in driving at 45mph in 8th gear. I already mentioned the speed I was going. When cruising, there’s no concern for the power band, because I was cruising. If I needed to accelerate or wanted more power, I would downshift to the correct gear. Again ZERO harm and I do that in my personal vehicles as well.

@BrosFOURRSpeed I never said you would cause harm to the vehicle, because it's a much more modern vehicle but can you not say it's wrong or not ideal? Yeah it's not ideal. Just watch the car and how it shifts in automatic, that's ideal. No damage from what you're doing, but not optimal and not correct as far as how you're suppose to drive the car. Drive how you want, but shift accordingly.

Supras are too hard to find for MSRP. These shitty dealers are marking them up $5,000. I’m now looking into a BMW.

Not really lol. My brother has bought 2 of them at sticker. Currently owns a manual 2023. All of our dealers do MSRP. Just have to wait for the dealer to get you a car
