This is a new (retro) cruiser model from BMW for the 2024. This is a first impressions ride of the 2024 BMW R12. A 1200 cc cruiser bike from BMW Motorrad. It has an air/oil cooled boxer engine and it feels a comfortable machine. The styling and the design is something to admire. I think that this kind of bike was really needed for the BMW in 2024. It has some nice tech to offer and it rides like a dream. Here is what I think of this bike. Watch the video for more. 2024 BMW R12 first impressions.

I really like that bike Gregor. It would definitely be on my top 3 list if I were in the market for a bike. Back in 1983, I purchased a brand new BMW R80 RT. Then I traded it in for a 1985 same model. So I'm quite familiar with how good these boxers are. Is this a bike that would be on your list? Thanks for your time Gregor. Have a great day!! Cheers!! These days I rode quite a lot of bikes. :) You will see them all soon. :)Thanks for the support Larry. Appreciate it. Somehow I didn't expect from the BMW to make a smaller cruiser this year. They already have the R18 that I already rode. I completely agree with you. It looks very good and the older boxers were almost perfect. :) Oh yeah... the R80 RT was quite popular. In my country was very expensive. :) It would be on my list. The only let down is the passenger seat. :) How many miles did you cover with the R80 RT?

@@RRRRefuelRideRace I don't remember exactly, but probably 35,000 mi. on each bike. We've had many bikes through the year's so it's hard to remember. Our summer vacations were always spent on motorcycle trip's. One time we went to the Pacific Coast to the state of Washington & up to Canada. That trip took 17 day's/ 5600 miles. We camped 50% & 50% motel room. Another time & I know you'll find this hard to believe; we was at it for 24 hours (stop/go) around the clock. Had a Honda Goldwing on that trip. Trisha would sleep on the back of the bike. I did another 24 hr. trip by myself one year while traveling to meet up with Trisha who spent a week @ job seminars. That particular 24 hr trip, I spent over 2 hrs. under a bridge when heavy rains caught me. I could go on & on, but I better end it here. Have a great day my friend! Cheers!! Illinois, USA

@@larrywade9041 That is a proper WILL to travel on a motorcycle. 24 hrs riding. Amazing. 35.000 miles is quite a lot. Usually people get bored earlier and sell the bike. :) Goldwings are really nice bikes. I never tried one, but would love to once. Could be also this year. Did you own a Yamaha FJR or Kawasaki GTR 1400 too? Thanks Larry. I wish you a nice day too and say hi to Trisha. Don't mention her that long rides, because I know that for the passenger is a totally different story. :)

@@RRRRefuelRideRace No, I never owned either of those 2 bikes. Mostly all my long distance was with BMW, Honda Goldwing, Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad, & Moto Guzzi's. My one day cruise's were done on 750c.c. on down to 125c.c. bikes. These were all (4) Japanese brands. Only owned one Harley ; an R 1000 R.

@@RRRRefuelRideRace I am sorry, but I meant to write 2026. Trisha & I would like to meet you. Providing all stays well with our health as it is for us now. Anytime of the year would be o.k. I know that seems to be some time from now, but for us time is slipping away rather fast. If you elect warm weather month's, maybe trisha & I could rent a bike & ride with you somewhere. Our short plans would be to see some of the Balkan's/maybe Vienna. So i'm basically just throwing some thing's out there. Were open to any suggestion's that you might have. We would have made it this year, but "bankrupt pensioner" (youtube channel) is organizing a get together in Tenerife. which is the main Canary Island. That would be in March/April 2025. That's tentative right now.

I am ready. :) Vienna is great, I was there a few times and it is also quite close to Slovenia (it depends from the location, but in general a 4 to 5 hrs drive/ride). Renting a bike is a great idea, I just agree. I know about Tenerife. Great place. :) We can discuss it in detailes when you will have more info about the dates. Ljubljana, Vienna, Budapest... depends from your taste... Bratislava is only 90 km away from Vienna. Think about it. :) I am ready Larry and I will be happy to meet you both.

@@RRRRefuelRideRace oh yes I’m am a ready 😁I think bmw are starting to get there bikes sorted for the purpose I like that one you ride I’ll never have an adventure bike again the ninja suits my needs in a motorbike good fuel long distances in comfort luggage as well was giving a good clean today and burnt my finger on the exhaust nothing serious looking forward to your next video bro 👍🏍️😎

@@RRRRefuelRideRace I ran the engine to help dry it then turned it off and I seen a bit off dirt on the cat so I rubbed it and the cloth moved hence my finger touching it red hot 👍🏍️😎

The bike looks modern, yet has nice retro touches. Personally I don’t like how the cylinder heads stick out on the sides. Be safe bro.
