All of BMWs new car design are terrible. I've been a long time fan of BMWs and how they looked but to be frank, basically all their cars from 2023 and newer just look so weird, like I have no idea what look they're trying to go for. They just kinda look like... What the heck happened
a 5 door cross over will never be a "coupe". I realize Europeans are very liberal in every sense, including how they classify vehicles but NO. My wife's Tiguan is not a Coupe, it can't just identify as a coupe or a roadster or a saloon, it's a 5 door CUV meaning that it's really just a traditional wagon (5 doors) with extra ground clearance and a "tough-looking" exterior.
I don’t understand why BMW and a few others don’t include adaptive cruise and instead make it part of an option group. Audi has started to include it as standard on everything but the base trims.
BMW is weird like that. My previous Gen X2 came with park assist (car will park itself) but you couldn't have it with BSM no matter how much money was available in your checkbook. But Audi is weird as well. Right now they charge an effective $5,500 more on a Q3 if you want wireless Apple carplay. This is due to the 2 packages you have to have in order to get the wireless carplay option. Going from the base Premium Q3 to a Premium Plus Q3 they charge $3,000, & all that gets you is multi-color ambient lighting inside the car & a 360-degree overhead camera... that is literally it. Then if you want wireless Apple Carplay you have to fork out another $2,500 for the Tech Package. That's nuts.
It’s really because you can customize it… which you can’t with other brands. Basically expect the price to go up by at least $20K depending on options for BMW and just as much for Mercedes and Porsche if not significantly more
I'm sure it's a nice car but it's sad BMW did this. They took something in their lineup that was unique & a true option for folks (a hot hatch) & got rid of it in favor of something they already had & is better in the fact it's a straight 6 vehicle, which is the X4. Also hate the fact a lot of nobs are gone in this gen X1 & X2. VW already had to relent & pull back from some of that, shame BMW didn't learn from VAG's erroneous ways with the haptic feedback & drilling down into submenus way of operating the car.
They got me looking at Benz now why the back look like yall camping ⛺️ outside they should’ve just asked Lexus to upgrade they front lol give fire tv back they remote
An excellent review and video, guys. Super. I'm coming off of an X3 M lease and was initially heading upward to an X6 M, maybe the light version, but when I saw the early videos on the X2 M35i last Fall, I "ordered" a Vegas Red one with every package and option, like my X3 has. Priced just over 60K USD, it's one heck of a deal, particularly contrasted with almost-similar models from M-B AMG or Porsche. Yes, less than 1/2 the price of the X6 I configured to order. A "Baby X6" perfect for an older gentleman. It's too bad that no dealer I've found has anything but partially equipped X2s. Mine could almost be unique. It's been three months since the soft "order' and deposit. The release was just last Monday. How long might I wait? Another three months? Okay, all the reviews strongly suggest that it will be worth it. Good job, again, M & D.
I see your point… at first I liked the design of the X4 and X2 much better because I have not seen a coupe design on an SUV before. It really just looks like a big hatch back, not as boxy as an SUV. I think I like the look of the Macan a bit better and the functionality of an X1 or X3 is pretty handy. The X2 is also super aggressive and the X4 comes with the 6-cylinder (M40i)… but the a 300hp 4-cylinder? That’s pretty good… great in the city or highway. X1 is pretty practical and not as boxy as a GLB either. But compared to a GLA 35 I might go for the GLA over the X1 or X2
@@SCraig-Handsome go and see gla and the horrible interior quality. I was looking both and x1-x2 are by far the most premium car and than more expensive competitors such as q3 sportback and gla
On a technicality, the head room would be much worse if you had the optional panoramic roof 🤷♂️ Talking reliability on new vehicles is also unreliable statistics because vehicles have been getting more and more recalls then ever before every year🤷♂️ The front design looks weird and the non chrome silver makes it look very cheap, and from the black trim above the exhaust and up just looks very confusing. It looks like they put 2 taillights on the car and either 1 of them could be removed and still look normal, also the back is oddly flat and gives it a very weird look. The exhaust looks good and gives it an aggressive (Design) but let’s be honest with our selves. The 4 banger ain’t winning any awards for sounds or quickness😅 it’s just a look.
I don’t get BMW…..the interior dash hasn’t really changed for a decade! It looks dated and brings down the whole design concept. Compare this to the Mercedes GLC 300 Coupe……far superior.
BMW looks, especially the front, just....just....are NOT attractive. This one at least I wouldn't barf looking at every morning like the "pig nose" , but Benz and Audi are just uniformly beautiful up front. I will say though the interior space and cargo utility blows the M235i Gran Coupe out the water and +100 to BMW for the excellent quad tips. I would strongly consider this for wifey as we are coming out of a 2017 Alfa Giulia soon and while she loves the Alfa handling, she wants something easier to get into/out of.
Well it's certainly not boring lol but it's inexcusable that manufacturers are cheaping out on rear wipers, especially at this price point. But regardless, great video guys!
I don’t like what they did to this Bimmer!!! It’s gone from classy to trashy!!! It looks straight up ugly!!! I love Bimmers because I’m a phat yammed ebony queen but this one isn’t for me boo boo!!!!
Priced a bit too comfortably at 54k for 4 cylinder compact BMW. I'd like to see how it performs with 4 or 5 adults and some cargo in the back. It's a nice design, apart from the horrible dash. Those huge black bezels/bars/blank spaces on screen is very distracting, need a little hood over the dash to make it feel more integrated less slapped-on.
I legitimately don’t know anyone not retired that likes these vehicles. My compact car is more practical than this thing, and it looks so proportionally fucked. It’s just everything that is design for human pleasure and conscience taken away. I literally don’t get it

I really don’t get that large, plastic black “lip” below the grill. Just body color and smaller trim at the bottom would make this car look a lot better.
Can we admire the interior design layout? 😄 the USB ports & wireless phone charger has an edge to it so people won’t get those areas wet with their drinks. Nice! I also like the floating center console design. Gear shift selector will grow on us though lol
BMW is like Toyota, they’re more engineers than stylists that’s why it’s not much better looking than a Toyota. I’ve got one of these in shipping because functionally it works great, fits what I need, and I’ve loved my previous and current BMWs. Luckily I’ll be inside it driving, so I won’t be looking at the “meh” outside much. (Also the dealer made me a good deal)
Informative review. I like the format. The resale/reliability section is a good way to close the video. SUGGESTION. When discussing the features of the car I think talking about the things that are not included is helpful. An example would be when you mentioned that the rear seats are not heated and do not recline. Everyday details that people may not realize until after they purchase the car like the fact that this car probably requires premium fuel? Thanks guys!
Looks good. 😮 How does the interior feel like compared to a Series 3? I have two kids so back seat doesn't have to be that big, but cargo space is important. I have a series 3 and the trunk is very good for me. .
This SUV BMW X2 M35i is the best exterior and interior BMW style design ever. For example: the 7 series sedans are truly ugly inside and x7 series are super ugly outside.
