The improvements to the 540i 6 cyl engine is notable. Much more power and the hybrid provides more MPG. What’s good about the X5 is you don’t have a 3rd row to contend with. No one uses it and it adds weight - eats space. The hybrid 40i is a great SUV.
Question. Just got out of a black 2023 x5 three months ago and I was able to plug in and utilize my iPod. Can you use your iPod in the new 2024 and it so would I need to buy a different wire to make it work? Thanks..
The refresh is so smart. $80k in Australia would get you a basic 330i. This X5 40i would be $150K😢 The 30i diesel is the most popular giving a 1 tank range of 1100km or so. Useful for our long distances.
From looking at other videos it seems the European models have a more attractive rear lamp setup. There's amber turn signals in between the upper and lower red lamps. BMW insists on not having rear amber turn signals for the U.S. market on any model. I've read there are government regs about surface area required, etc. but other manufacturers do it.
US does have a lot of restrictions. For example, the Laser headlights were awesome and looked really nice, but they had to cut the efficiency for the US, so they phased them out and moved to these new LED ones. I prefer the laser ones though
Awesome, can’t wait to get mine. Were there any blue accents on the headlights similar to the old adaptive LED headlights? I couldn’t tell with the glare.
@@MohammedPatel29 they called shadow line lights. Exclusive for the M sport pro pack. I like the blue accents as well. Lol if u like the blue accents u can chose whatever u want except the m sport pro pack.
Can I disengage the start stop engine feature? My Audi has it and becomes bothersome at times. For example at a stop sign only and the engine will shut off. I usually just turn off this feature.
You can't. Because of the mild hybrid system. But there are ways to overide it. Ex. By going to the Sport mode, individual, and choose comfort setting across the board. It will never turn off that way, (in sport)
The mid console vents are so hidious compared to previous gen and with the lack of A/C controls its just such a fail.. mid screen looks further away too than previous screen.. Rather than having a TV lounge i relly preferred the driver oriented design of previous generations.. less tesla and more car please.. Outside design is minor changes and enginge is the same too.. will hang on to my '22 and hopefully this zero-buttons farce will go over asap
Nice upgrades and software but that screen is just not uniform to look at, plus it has huge bezels. IMHO - pre lci dash looked better. Wish they had kept the same screen layout from pre-lci and updated the software to iDrive 8
Geez, that front is uuuuugly! The front glossy black area under grills looks like a mustache, which makes sense the grills are nostrils. BMW has really lost its way. Don’t get my started on the infotainment stick on display and lack of functional buttons. Might as well buy a Tesla MX
Yep, so glad I was allocated a 2023 X5 right before they stopped production. Taking delivery next month. Don't get me wrong the 2024 is nice, but it looks like 2 different generation's interiors on the inside. I've also sat in the iX and the wheel gets in the way of the new display.
@@ShowMeWhatINeedToKnow 2013, 2015 and 2019 GC's with HEMIs, zero major issues. The disappointment with my X5 is that is doesn't feel like it's any "more" vehicle than the GC's. 20-30 years ago, the BMW would have been a massive step up, more well optioned and more luxurious than the GC. Now, the BMW is just more $ for virtually the same vehicle, same (maybe fewer) options, same feel), and I took a step down in HP to the 6 cylinder. Unless you've had a GC and had issues that made you "live at the dealership", I'd bet you're just repeating things you heard.
@@MichaelBradley1967 -- Zero "major issues" doesn't tell me much. Anyway, you didn't have your GC long enough for much to go wrong - I'm sure the engine and trans are fairly robust - many Stellantis products use the ZF transmission. It's everything else. So why didn't you get the X5 M50i if you want V8 power? Not sure what you were thinking: The power aspect should have been very easy to figure out on the test drive. The GC and the X5 are not even competitors though - two totally different vehicles. And yes, you get a lot less features for the same price with a BMW - they are very stingy.
