Definitely X5M. In this car i'd only go for the most powerful version not this one with 644 hp which seems to be slower than the x5M competition with less power.
Once again I’m noticing that most of you are not understanding the target buyer, even after BMW stated it. This is a direct shot at the typical G Wagon buyer. Is the G Wagon the fastest AMG? No! Because it’s not all about performance with this buyer. It’s all about exclusivity and status.
I'm pretty sure I get it. I spent so much time with this car. At that price point, it's tough to take away from the G-Wagon. That car has a loyal following, just like the S-Class does. There is nothing wrong with the XM, other than its price point and an interior design which should have been bolder and more luxurious, and cool. Will people buy the XM? Sure! First year shouldn't be too bad. Curious what happens after year 1.
@@bmwblog I disagree. The interior design fits well with the rest of BMW’s SUV designs, and the materials are rich. I personally don’t think BMW expects this to be a volume model which makes it exclusive.
@@ajlee6933 we can agree to disagree, but believe me: the interior of the concept car would have made a huge difference. This car should stand out, not blend in with the X5 M
@@ajlee6933 the X5M comp isn’t a volume model either, and the M comp is faster. I wouldn’t consider this aggressive like the M comp, which I have. This would be more electric lux sport.
Much appreciated! This was lonnggggg. Yes, the M2 will be similar for sure. I focused less on design with that one, but A LOT on driving. I drove both manual and automatic.
All your points made throughout the video are valid. In addition to that, I think the LED interior lights in the ceiling are not a high enough resolution. You can see each individual LED light, which makes it look cheap.
The interior options and fit are crazy beautiful but I think it still needs to have a sunroof. Maybe something like the 7series. The front looks mean but the rest I’d have to see in person I guess.
Ya know, I'm not trying to be hater like everyone is when it comes to this car but...... I can't help but feel like the interior and the sound could have been a lot more. Again, I'm not hating, but if you're making a car that can stand out and all the marketing, you gotta make it different than the others. Like the steering wheel, that could be from M760e but they gave it the same one since the day that F90 came out.
This is what I have been waiting for! Super informative, lots of details. I love the car so much that when i know there is a label red version coming, i immediately went to my dealership and leave the express of interest deposit. However after watching your review, i must say I'm really disappointed about the interior. It should have been a lot more unique especially at this price point. I guess i will just have to wait for your review of the label red version to finalize my decision😂

I just want to say the reason I bought the vehicle wasn't because I could buy it and somebody else can't it was because I'm a mom and I like fast cars so I needed an SUV that I could play with as well when the kids aren't in the car😂❤❤❤ and I have fun with it this car is absolutely beautiful and when you're driving in sport mode or Super Sport in M2 mountain roads here you get some straightaways and then some really sick turns to go around and this car grips to the ground and the steering and the braking and everything is just absolutely fantastic
Great review, very informative. The only question I have is why did they tune the engine to make less power when we know it is capable of much more? Was it to save fuel or get a higher mpg rating?
This doesn’t feel special enough at this price point. Lots of good ideas but honestly I think the lack of a panoramic roof will hurt this with its target demo. The Label Red might overcome the performance shortcomings.
The target buyer doesn’t care about a panoramic roof. A panoramic roof isn’t special, because you can find one in pretty much every car. Exclusive vehicles like a Rolls Royce has stars in the ceiling, which people love because it’s unique. Now the XM has a unique roofline to match its unique styling.
The performance of Label Red will be impressive. No doubt about it. A rocket, I expect 3.5 sec for 0-60. The issue is really the price point a bit and I wished it had the concept's interior.
When The New X5M is available, it would be Interesting for me, to have a Comparative Test between the two... Does the X///M "feels" Bigger to drive than the X5 ?
Should be available soon. It doesn't actually feel bigger, just different. It actually feels faster at times. But cornering, the X5M is more fun since less body roll, less weight.
Just no. The damn thing looks like a pig barreling down the street. Also, power figures are better but not at all faster than the competition. The polarizing looks are a big no for me. Honestly, BMW has lost their way.
I’m not hating at all. I have an f10 M5 and a 21 X7 m50i. Their new designs are making me look to other manufacturers. The iX is actually a nicely designed car except for the front lung grills. That’s the only thing that I couldn’t get over. Otherwise the XM though, I’m not really sure where this car fits in with the line up.
In my opinion there's no use for a lesser version of this car,only the hardcore with that 745hp was enough not two models. It was supposed to be a take it or leave it kind of a car. Instead of this lesser version of this car i'd take a more useful x7 M60i than this one cos it makes more sense than it,or I'd even go for the x5M competition.
my x4m40i is faster, doesn't look like a child designed it and is 70k cheaper. saw one in person yesterday when i was putting a deposit on the new m2. doesn't look any better in person. sounds pretty good though. they started it in the dealership
@@bmwblog yeah, they certainly are...makes more sense to compare this to an X5 comp or X7m60i.. Both of which I would personally take over this. They need to stop adding this hybrid nonsense to perfectly good power trains.

BMW is going to release the XM 2 and the M7 before they release the M2 … they are being extremely rediculous with this m2 the touring wagon m3 made it out before the m2 … it’s kinda a joke at this point
@@bmwblog I was being sarcastic … I was trying to make a point that BMW is being a absolutely rediculous with the m2 compared to anything else .. even the m3 they even released the XM a 150k concept electric m car before they released a 62k m2 car … so weird
