gt neo is a great wheel.. wanted one since boosted media reviewed it (hadnt long had my g923 hand me down that started me on this hobby).. then logitech finally released the RS QR and now i have one on my g pro.. you will love it.. even more if you love tinkering with all the lights which ive not really started doing yet as i mostly race VR
@@awakeandwatching953 can't wait mate, cant wait! Haven't got mag link yet though but I'll be happy to see what simpro offers to begin with. Main reason i went the alpha base over the cs dd in the end, was their QR system and the native GT Neo support
Hi Will - A big thank you and congrats to you and Tom for all the informed content you've produced throughout the years. I've followed you for about 5 years or so, just after I started my sim racing journey, and you have been, and continue to be, my first point of reference for any honest and trustworthy reviews of product. It's great to see how far you've came, both professionally and personally, and I admire not only what you've achieved, but how you've got there with dignity, kindness and respect. I wish you and your whole family the very best for the future.
This rig is special, this rig and Will are also what got me into sim racing years ago, my geeky rig build/upkeep/upgrades along with the racing has been so much fun, I am so glad I went down this path, thank you to Will and this rig for getting my juices going and deciding one day that I am going to go for it and start building one
The thought, planning and processes that you put into making your video's are incredible. If i lived in Australia i would be in a sim racing bunker just like you are.
Bad ass stuff Will! I’ve been simracing for two years now and am about to buy my first proper rig, your content led me to Simagic and sim labs. Thank you and keep up the phenomenal content mate! Advice for those new to the sim world: if Boosted doesn’t approve, avoid it!
I've been subscribed since late 2020 so I've seen some of the evolution of the channel. I love that you guys are innovating instead of staying complacent. I'm obsessed with sim racing and I love driving, but a lot of my enjoyment of the hobby comes from just seeing and researching new gear. And there's no better place to go than Boosted Media.
Thanks this behind the scenes tour I found it very interesting, as I always do when I get to see how other sim racers design and build their setups, but that studio really takes things to another level and reflects why your content is so good, in-depth and engaging.
An idea for a future video for you. Moza are releasing their indicator stalks soon, and Eurotruck simulator's next update will have a Learning mode in it (teaching how to drive the trucks, reverse them etc) If you set it in the big rig with the TSW wheel, indicator stalks and with the proper FOV (the devs have a guide for setting up triple monitors with the correct FOV as well as turning off the in game steering wheel) I think that'd make for a very entertaining video for both you and the audience (I might be biased as I actually drive trucks for a living) Either that or in VR using that amazing Quibic system motion sim. I found Euro truck in VR pretty phenomenal, but my original HTC vive doesn't quite do it justice Love the content as always, keep up the great work!
Would love a video (or some ramblings) on a dream setup, not for content creation, but for personal use, not only on sim racing gear specifically but monitor choice etc., and maybe at different budget levels also! Great content as always!
would love some more handheld content, it's such an awesome surprise to see someone who i've watched for so so long now in the simracing community be into something else which i also love so much :)
also, apologies if its been done before, but I think it would be really cool to watch a doc based around an endurance race, based in your studio, using the same rig. I know people have done streams all in the same place, but a documentary style video would be really cool with a plot and interviews. Get some streamers together in the motion rig or something haha
Still an amazing setup. I still remember when you assembled that PC with a white UFO-like case. Back then you also explained why the second PC for live streams through OBS and stuff. Do you still use the same workflow? Or has something changed in the meantime? Would you update that streaming workflow review as well? Congrats on your success Will, besides a great channel that you have you're also a great inspiration and source of knowledge to all of us followers. Cheers and God bless you all.
Hi Will, Great tour video, your content is always first class and my go to for anything Sim Racing related. I have always struggled to get a good set up iracing on my single screen curved monitor would it be possible for you to do a video on fov and driver seating position to get the best and most immersive experience. Much appreciated Steve
Some suggestions for water cooling hardware ... If I was building a loop today for somebody (which I am), this is what I would be considering. Order isn't strict, but first is better than last unless otherwise noted. Ranking factors in value, performance and build quality: * CPU blocks: Watercool, Alphacool, Optimus, Aquacomputer, Iceman Cooler, Bitspower, EK * GPU blocks: Watercool, Optimus, Alphacool, EK, Bitspower * Tube reservoirs: Watercool, Iceman Cooler, Singularity Computers, Alphacool, XSPC, Bitspower * Flat reservoirs: Alphacool (Core Distro), Stealkey (flat res or distros), EK (FLT or Reflection), Bitspower * Pump: Aquacomputer D5 Next, Alphacool VPP Apex, any normal D5 PWM, DDC 3.2 or higher with a heatsink * Radiators: (All rads are pretty good) Watercool, Alphacool, EK, Hardware Labs/Corsair/Bitspower, XSPC * External radiators: Watercool MO-RA IV, Alphacool Nova, any rad above in large size with an external radiator stand * Hard tube fittings: EK (their aesthetic is still top IMO and the quality is good), Barrow (high quality, low cost), Bitspower/Corsair, Optimus, Bykski/Primochill * Hard tubing: Corsair acrylic (has color options), pretty much any acrylic tubing, any brass/copper metal tubing * Soft tube fittings: Koolance, Barrow, Bitspower/Corsair, Optimus, EK * Soft tubing: Pretty much any EDPM (black tubing). * Quick disconnect fittings: Koolance * Other fittings: Barrow (they have the most variety), EK, Bitspower * Fluid: Aquacomputer Double Protect Ultra, Koolance 702, Mayhems X1, Corsair XLR8 * Controllers: Anything from the Aquacomputer ecosystem * Tools: Primochill rigid finishing bit, mini miter table saw, Alphacool ruler kit, adjustable temp heatgun, fill bottle with nozzle * Fans: (120mm) Phanteks T30, Noctua A12-25, Bequiet Silent Wings 4 Pro, Lian Li P28, Alphacool Apex, Arctic P12. You could do a review of a triple 55" Samsung Ark. It would be nice too see if 1000R curve is any good, specially on such size. Pair it with the qubic motion :) Great setup as always
On your GoPro 12 are you using the media mod or not. Are you running the usb c to your pc to like an Elgato cam 4 link? I get a “no signal” when trying to connect through obs. Good to see you using the sc2 ultimate 👍
Question: How many sim racing rims do you have? Think you could also list them so maybe i could check a few out to see if i want one? Also would the Cube Controls F-Pro be a good investment or should the CSX-3 be better?
Can you test the htc vive pro 2 vr headset please. Also, racing with 7.1 surround sound is out of this world. If you decide to go down that road, for the love of god put the speakers on stands at ear level and not on the floor or facing up.
Are simucube worth the upgrade from fanatec csl dd? Looking to upgrade to a little more ffb than the 8 nm with the boost pack. I’ve watched all the videos on your channel and just feel overwhelmed on what direction to go in terms of upgrading and staying within fanatec or switching brands
Great video and very honest, you are certainly living the dream, but without Ego you see elsewhere, as for content, I have asked for this before, but I would like you to take a look at the budget or low end side Steering wheel, for those of us, on "ready to race" basic systems, (Fanatec P1 v2 8nm in my case) looking for a third party add on wheel. Simagic GT Neo Price range. Would also request UK GBP is added to your reviews. Thanks.
So with the VR and a motion rig, how well does the tracking even work? I would imagine inside out would not allow you to choose if it locks on to the rig or the room around it (atleast for people who dont place it right in the middle of a garage), and the light houses may wobble with the motion rig if attached to it
Vr with motion needs motion compensation. So oxrmc software with simhub for example works great. It doesnt matter if you have inside out tracking or light houses. Light houses stay at fixed positions, not at rig.
I recently came across a RU-vid video of a guy who set up a green screen behind his wheel so he could see his rig in vr. Have you ever thought about trying that?
Yeah. Trying very hard to get rid of it at the moment. My daughter has an eating disorder so we’ve been having to eat high calorie meals lately which hasn’t helped.
Sorry to hear that. Your children are everything. I couldn't imagine going through something like that with my son. Must be hard. He was born prematurely, we spent 3 months in the icu and the first year I gained like 10 kilos. Those kilos will go away. Your daughter is the most importantly thing. And gaining a dad-bid, because you support her battle with an ED, is probably the most supportive thing I've ever heard. Keep it up!
@@ewollenbergcthanks. Yeah it sucks. Can take her 3 hours to eat a piece of bread sometimes. It’s especially hard because you can’t get angry or even mildly frustrated because then they associate it with eating which makes the problem worse. So it’s literally just encouragement and patience. I was almost back down to my healthy weight after Covid, then this happened. Smashing the exercise bike and rowing machine every day and starting to see a difference thankfully.
Think my setup is better. Nlr traction, v3 seat mover.. asetek invicta and invicta pedals. Bdh shifter. Jinx handbrake. Oddessy ark 55'. Rog full btf build with 4090. Samsung q990d ÷ Oddessy ark for sound. Loupedeck for buttons and knobs
How much did the electrical work cost to make your house handle such high power demands 😂 bet you wish albo had followed thru with his $275 power bill reduction promise lol
Win10 is still a better gaming os than win11. Worse performance, more predatory telemetry, clunkier interface... I won't be updating until Microsoft forces me too.
