I'm actually more into VR and just ordered the Pimax Crystal Light, upgrading from HP Reverb G2. My brother is an airplane mechanic and is interested in flight sims. Somehow I came across this world of driving sims and really want to build one. But there is sooo much out there and a lot of it is foreign to me as a newb. I don't mind spending a bit of cash for good quality gear, but also my budget isn't limitless - not gonna spend 10 grand on this. After watching this video, I think the Simagic Alpha 15nm is a good base for me, and I'm under the impression that 2 different wheels would also be a good idea. Not sure about the pedals yet, but if I go with Simagic base, I'll probably stay within their eco system. As for the cockpit and chair etc, I'm really not sure, there are sooo many options out there. I'll probably get an 8020 aluminum setup of some kind because I really want it to be fully modular and be able to mount accessories as needed (especially for flight simming). I guess I need to just keep watching videos until I get a handle on it all. Any recommendations welcome!
If i haven't got the game yet how do i go about getting these cars and the track? do i have to grind a certain lic first and buy them after? or can i just do practice laps with them like this from the start of the game?
The v3's are still pretty good pedals, Casey Kirwan won the nascar championship on iracing using them without the performance kit or dampers. Yeah in nascar you dont brake much but he was still winning many road races with them also. I would of like to of seen how the stock pedals would of compared.
The game has many bugs including the career mode bug. The game stalls on contract negotiations and doesn't proceed to the next race. I spent 5 gruelling days to find out the game is an unfinished product
I didn't play the game. I didn't buy it. But after all the videos I've seen, I conclude that it would be better if they made some improvements to the handling over the f1 23 and made a smarter AI (like the one in the 24 seems to be). And the more balanced game between ERS and DRS. And they had more than 80% positive reviews on Steam. SURELY.
I think compared to other sim racing games, the new Patch of F1 24 was a huge step back. The first handling in F1 24 was the most realistic F1 handling we've ever had. Yes there were some bugs, but there were fixable. Now the car feels so strange and it loses control out of nowhere.
The thumb encoders on the ascher is just wrong. The F-Pro I’ve heard many say the calibrations is off or a problem calibrating, or is that the F core or both?

@boostedmedia are the strips going down the screen that noticeable in real life as they are very distracting to watch I do have ASD/ADHD so maybe it's just the way my brain works.
I actually liked the handling prior to the update, although it feels like more arcade like, it was fun. the new update feels like f123 and I didnt like it too much after a while, you can spin out literally touching the grass or curb 1mm on your tire lol. if I want more realism, I just play assetto. F1 23 / F1 24 is not realistic at all. just fun though!
I mainly do my sim racing in VR. F1 2022 was terrible for VR. I had hoped for improvements in F1 2023, and while it seemed slightly better to me, it was still unplayable. I tried F1 2024, and it was even worse than 2022. I don't understand why they say this game supports VR. So, I just play "F1" in Assetto Corsa.
Hello, very good review, but I think that 30cm is a little big for sim racing and that the grips should be able to be used without gloves. Regarding the logo, it is much nicer that Mc Laren has it instead of its Logo, which is not very accurate. It's a steering wheel to consider but I personally prefer the Cube Control Pro or the Mpx. Obviously it is my personal opinion. Very good review and thanks for your videos.
@@Mpdarkguy from what I'm hearing (I've not played it) the game is unrealistically too easy. Like the current version, even without assists, is the arcade mode. What I meant is it needs a SIM mode added.
@@Wesley-um2kcSame here, what think is, codemasters aren’t capable of doing a SIM, thats why they use that excuse of “casual players”… the solution would be simple, make it a SIM, with assists the casual player would be able to play it.
They tried that with DiRT 4 and ended up with a subpar sim mode and a fairly bland arcade mode. Much easier to just focus on one handling model. Personally I would love for F1 games to be full sims but they gotta appeal to the masses unfortunately.
@@l__svs I think you are missing point or not on a PC. Mouse support to navigate menus not drive. You know when every person and game on PC in the world uses a mouse to operate menus it seems ridiculous that Codemasters can’t include this in the F1 games. I guess because they are just console arcade ports so lazy programming . Having to fumble around navigating menus with buttons and dials on a PC is stupid.
For the hardcore, I can understand many complaints people have. They will always exist in theory. For the common person who just wants to relax with a controller in hand and play some races, there's not much to really complain about, especially with the recent updates.
Great video! Guys I have a slight issue on my 2series sport. Note that my vehicle is not an Msport. I'm having trouble trying to find a rear diffuser that will FIT my 2 series model. I have a few people saying that any f22 diffuser will be able to fit my model but I am not too sure it will. Can anyone help and confirm if any f22 diffusers will fit? Thank you!!
Why not VR? We see all these videos about how great VR is, but then the top channels are STILL using triples. What's up with that? I really like VR, but always end up returning the headsets after a few weeks because I just feel like we are a few years away from really good deployment....
It's a matter of what games you play in VR. F1 series are NOT well optimized for VR. Feels like they just slapped it in there to have VR for the game. It's really bad. But others are a joy to play in VR.... just not F1
With regards to traction control feeling, It’s seems like EA/Codemasters really tried to give us the sensation of ground effect and low pressure aerodynamic drag behind the car. We’ve got to remember that with the extra load of the car tyres to ground, it enforces the extra traction therefore extra opposite load / resistant to engine output. So to that logic Rev stagnation would be inevitable especially round high speed cornering, but breaking traction around slow speed corners should always remain a threat. I love the point about “easy to drive but difficult to master” whilst there’s likely a bit of tweaking EA/codemasters need to do to fix some obvious challenges, but I still think they need to stand by their development plan and tell us to get good. Gaming communities are getting too comfortable with complaining about how difficult games are and I think that’s what kills games in the long run. There are still bigger problems in the game beyond our ability to drive/race, communities should put pressure on that. For anyone who can’t resist saying “omg it’s unrealistic…. “ It’s a game. Be a hero and get a job in creating better games.
If I were you and were willing to spend around 10% more, I would go for the Fanatec CSL DD Ready2Race bundle and buy the clutch seperately. It has a slightly stronger wheelbase and a 300mm rim.
@@boostedmedia have they given a reason for why not? It seems odd to me that they'd add vr support last year, but still not add support for multiple monitors. It's like they've put half a foot into the serious category. It just feels like a shame that the premier racing league in the world isn't offering the bare minimum to sim racers. I don't mind the arcadey aspects that you can turn off or ignore. But proper fov support doesn't seem like it would be too hard to give
