I’ve seen more Stagg (granted it’s been only two bottles) in NYC in the last two weeks than the last four years. One place had it at $250, the other had it at $300. X-Mas of 2019 they were $70 in this area. I think a fair portion of things are going to come down to being reasonable again

As long as inflation is a goal of the economy prices will continue to to rise. Cost of everything used to make and market is higher nowadays.

Went to old forester yesterday at opening just to see what may in the store. Wasnt hunting 1924 per say but wouldnt mind it, ended up getting a Presidents Choice! Cant complain at all

Great video Jason. Lots to look forward to this year hopefully. I occasionally stumble into something LE but most of the time I am satisfied with Whiskeytube picks and there's always something new to try on the shelf. Also, my Scotch shelf is pathetic. Cheers!

I actually just saw the wheel horse cigar blend today when I was searching online and I’m a bit confused. When I clicked on it on breaking bourbon it took me to an article that said it was released in Nov 2023. So idk if this is a new batch or if it was just mislabeled and put in the Jan 2024 category. Definitely interested in a $40 cigar blend if it is a new one

Side by Side review of the Old WT RB Label and New Label WT RB heard there is a difference. You reviewed WT101 when the label was changed and said it was for the better.

I think im pretty out of the game at this point. Have a lot of great whiskey. Dont really see myself picking up much this year outside weird smaller releases from companies like driftless glen or still austin (although ill go for just about any limited release from jack). Not to mention marijuana was legalized here last year, and i have a lot to learn and experience there. Maybe ill get back into scotch as well.

Piggy back isn’t rare , but all the other ones he’s reviewing are nearly impossible to get due to what I call Dave’s , every liquor store has one and they tend to hide them till all his friends gets a share 🖕.

Do you (or anyone) use a decanter? My wife gave me one for Christmas. I started an infinity bottle (1.5oz each) with my favorite bourbons. I didn't use rye or anything finished. And kept the proof range between 90-120. What do you use one for?

Great Video.. I wan to see more Green River products on the shelf.. great whisky for 35$ also, predict a massive fall of the bourbon boom to bust. we shall see... but I do see a trend for most people to stick to bourbon priced at 20-50$ and not the high flying Stagg secondary market.. will go bust..

Jason, thanks for the info. I’m a behind the scenes kind a guy when it comes to all things I get onto. After a stint with Scotch and bourbons availability I’ve taken a few trips to Kentucky. Michters American Cask Strength? Michter's American 10 yr? Traveller is incredibly atrocious at $40. It needs to be $20. Wouldn't Heavenhill's BTAC also include Parkers? And William Heavenhill? Well you said they needed to move all this whiskey...so 4 year old rotgut in a decanter, I'd probably feel better about the $48 I spent on Traveller if it was in a decanter.

Jason where are you seeing Indigo is sourced from Dickel? The release states distilled in Indiana, aged in kentucky and bottled in tennessee.

My first semi-serious bottle of bourbon was the standard 8 year Austin Nichols WT 101. I saw it deteriorate to what it is now and have switched to Rare Breed. I would buy a case if they brought it back at a semi-reasonable price.

If you ever get a chance to tour Holladay Distilling, do it! They treat you with outstanding hospitality, the location is beautiful, and the whiskey is solid. The ancient cave might be a bit gimmicky. But, I have been inside of it. While it’s very reminiscent of what could become a hobbit’s home, it is cool and also literally cooler in temperature. Some of the juice coming out of the barrels in there is pretty dang good, so I am intrigued at the idea of this upcoming release. Not sure how many bottles will be available considering the limited space in that cave.

Enjoy the the release guide. I am all for the decanter too except from Wild Turkey. Because then the new $300-$500 bottles we all want go to $400-$600. Already too expensive. Let's go with a Benchmark full proof decanter. :)

Wheel horse cigar blend is already out in my neck of the woods. Not amazing but pretty decent considering it's 30$. If it comes out consistently I could see it being a really good daily. Also wild turkey should do a barrel proof 10 yr rye. Rare breed rye is around 112 proof for my bottle. If you're going to do it then do it right

Jason, new to your site. I am just an bourbon enjoyer. I like it although I don't drink it often. My favorites Michter's (I see you have the american whiskey on your video), Old Forester 1910, Bowman Brothers and Blade and Bow. I tried something a while back and suggest you try it for fun. I saw a video where people were trying to mix bourbons to make a "Poor man's Pappy". So I mixed Michter's and 1910, 50% each. Surprisingly good. So when you get bored....

do you know anything about the woodford reserve double XO blend? picked some up at an airport duty free in south Korea and I'm having a hard time finding much info about it other than websites selling it

It's a combination of two Woodford Reserve bourbons, both aged in fresh charred oak barrels. The first bourbon is 17-years old, while the second is aged for 7 years before being transferred to heavily toasted new oak barrels for further maturation.

Why did you fail to mention Jack Daniels 10 year and 12 year releases. They were released last spring and it wasn’t a one time deal but rather an annual release in March and May? If I’m wrong, then please tell me what you know about these two bottles.

Didn't find any confirmation on those releases. There could be an older jack releasing but they keep things pretty close to the vest. The 10 is a good bet but there could.be something older than the 12. Just nothing out there yet to confirm that

Mine had a tin case but it was a cheap tin. Not as nice as the Jacobs Well one. However I have seen some without it. Seems like a crapshoot. lol
