Hi team! 💜 Hope you enjoyed the goals setup, and are getting excited to tackle your goals 💪 What something you're eager to work on next year? 🤔 Also, on the off chance you dropped into the comments to tell me I missed the 'C' in reflection 😛 I know, haha 💜 I was going to comment on it in the voice over, but sometimes when we try to correct mistakes, it just ends up drawing more attention to them so I left it 🤙 plus, if this journal is supposed to be a place where I can be a bit more messy, might as well start now 😋
I avoid name page for a completely different reason lol, I'm not scared of it looking ugly but I do go by two different names and I'm unsure which one I want on the page
Ooooh so the uncomfy section made me think of this thing that some of my old friends used to talk about which is Comfort Zone Expansion - which we shorten to "CoZE" (pronounced "cozy") and every once in a while we'd get together to do "CoZE activities" - basically we'd get together, talk about things that made us feel uncomfy and that we wanted to work on, and then go do the thing. It was anxiety-inducing but fun! because we always celebrated together afterwards :)
I admit, I get easily overwhelmed by goals. I'll make a list of goals I want to achieve and try to break it down into quarters, but then something in my life will happen, ie: my Nana had a stroke earlier this year and needed to move into a rest home, and I had to clean out her home to put on the market. Suddenly my goals have no room to breathe because I'm so busy doing for others and lost the time or energy to focus on myself. I have one goal for 2024 to ensure I don't let my commitment to others take away all my personal energy and time like it did this year, but again, I'm not sure how to appropriately prepare for this. SMART goals and I don't get along either, I find that being too specific with a goal makes me less inclined to do it in the time I set out for it and then it feels like I've failed. So long story short, I'm looking forward to learning more about your upcoming course, Jess. And as always, thanks so much for sharing your valuable content with us here on RU-vid xx
Thanks Chelle 💜 it can be so tough when we have these intentions for ourselves and then "life happens". Maintaining your personal energy is a great goal for 2024 👏
Not really a goal setter but found this interesting. Have been watching your pride and potion bottles themed setup on repeat, trying to figure out how to adapt it for my May 2024 theme ❤
I appreciate you doing the live where you worked through the planning of how you were going to set up your journal and then obviously this one where you set it up. I am using the same journal and starting a goal journal for the first time. I have set up six major areas that I would like to be consistent in activities or complete something new. One of the things I'm planning to do for my small business is start a podcast.
That’s exciting! 😄💜 I’ve been curious about podcast starting myself (but have enough going on that the moment that it’s for sure not the right time for that 😂) Hope yours goes well! 💪
I do have a couple on the channel already! 💜 this style in particular, the membership Team has access to in the form of a lettering practice document 😄
I'm looking forward to your course! Love the setup. One of the things I am going to try to work on this year is KEEPING my office tidy. I'm taking inspiration from all your declutter videos and am going to go through my office (again) and try to actually get it fully set up and then keep it that way. Considering at the current moment the only space on my desk is where my arms go and everything else is just in various piles around me its going to be a long term goal, lol.
HELP! First time journaler here! I've started bullet/scrapbook journaling and i can't seem to stop wanting to set up my bujo! Like, literally, I want to do something to/with it every day! I now have made a gratitude journal, a memory journal, a work journal, a personal journal, and I'm aiming to add a travel journal! I'm addicted to setting them up! How do I tame this need to use more journals?!?!
Im so looking forward to your course. Id volunteer to try it out to sure 😅😝 Id love to see a video from you reviewing all the non fiction goal and planning books you've read. Which you found helpful and which you didn't, etc. 😊🤩
as a left-handed person, the smudging would drive me crazy! but the cover is so cool. I love watching your videos that are like tutorial/idea videos. I always need help with goals and how to actually do them.
Great video. Regarding goal systems, what never vibed woth me were these level 10 life evaluating systems. I always think either i am satisfied with a certain aspect of my life and want to set goals to change it or not. When i give a value 3 or 5 to social interactions for example that does nothing emotionally for me. Either i am happy with the interactions or not and i want to change them. That was also one point that bothered me with the makselife goal system.
Fair 👏 If I were to pick my own scale, one that was more simplified, it’d probably be a 4 point system 😝 something like quite displeased, a little displeased, pleased, very pleased with 💜 a lot of the time, 10 points is too much of a range for me too
Top Tier as always Jess, Thank you for dropping this!!!!!!! I am so excited for your upcoming course. I am more of these are the projects for the quarter that have come from all of this reflection & evaluation.. Also, I hope A&O aren't coating their pages... they don't play nice with my pens.
I find a lot of goals advice/systems, don't work particularly well with the ups and downs of life. I have a chronic illness that flares up from time to time. I end up getting really disheartened trying to set and keep to goals because a lot of advice involves setting deadlines... and then I get sick for a couple months and end up missing those deadlines and even though that's not my fault, I end up feeling like I've failed. I've yet to find any goals system that really addresses that. Last year I set myself 'directions' rather than goals, and simply outlined rough areas I wanted to focus on, without pinpointing any particular end goals... but then I don't get that achievement feeling/dopamine hit.
It’s certainly a tricky balancing act with that kind of situation, yeah 💜 We want that feeling of accomplishment from checking something off as achieved or completed, but need to be flexible enough so that when life does that life thing, it doesn’t derail and demotivate us because the vision of “success” was too rigid 😅
Hi, I also have a chronic illness that can wipe out a lot of my time. I love Jess’s approach to this for 2024- weeks and cycles and reset weeks because I’m thinking the resets can be used to recalibrate my goals and tasks if I’ve had a period of ill health. I’m going to give myself grace because it isn’t our fault we get sick. That was I can celebrate being well again and sit down and work out what I can still get done/ get to do. Hopefully the new system works for you and 2024 is a better health year.
*shudders* smart goallllssssss bleh 😂 But yay course! I’ve been on the look out for any news you’ve had for it since you first mentioned you were developing one cause I’m so excited🎉
omg so im not crazy about thinking some A&O paper is coated now!! i bought a pink-paper journal from them a while back on sale and its DEFINITELY coated unlike every other journal i had. it was so unnerving tbh-- not a big fan but its alright
Glad someone else knows what I’m talking about 😝 I’ve only noticed it on the sub box journals so far, but I’m watching close for my everyday journal because that’s the only one of newer design that I’m using which wasn’t from the sub box 👀
@@JashiiCorrin I read your video description to see if you mentioned it, but not the pin. This is something I do way too often on homemade cards or in public facing documents: it’s like my brain goes too fast for my pen!
That last week of the year is definitely weird in terms of time. I call it the Holiday Time Anomaly 😅. A lot of my goals for 2024 revolve around starting my business, which I'm doing in January 😱. I used one of your goal videos from last year to set them up and it was super helpful. I really like this framework you have and I'm looking forward to your course. Thank you for great goal content!
I’d love to be a beta tester. I’m moving (slowly!) toward retirement. My goals are so different from what they’ve been in the past. Using a new method could be just what I need. Umm- I hate to say this but I want to because I know you are a persnickety biscuit and it will eventually bother you eventually- you missed the letter “c” in “reflection” in the cyclic header!
Its blue! 😂 I like these ideas. I usually buy a preprinted goal planner for each year, but I get very annoyed with them. Its a system on repeat that doesnt necessarily work for everything. Making one from scratch would be much easier to customize. Signed up for the course notification but the email confirmation never came. I'm not sure if its slow, a glitch or if its because I already have a login for your shop. If I'm not on the list let me know I'll try it again. I dont want to swamp your list if I dont have to! I need to work on being more consistent this year. Flying by the seat of your pants has a lot of flexibility, but there are too many ways to screw up a lot of things 😀
Glad I'm not alone in that 😝 any time I hear a video recommend SMART goals I genuinely eye-roll 🙄😂 (I know they work for some people, and some types of goals, but nahhh I'm good 🤙)
I have some ideas for my 2024 goals but I have to start the process to brainstorm and reflect on them to be more sure 😊 P.d. I tried to sign up on your website but I didn't receive any email to confirm it
Your free resource library is great, thank you! I love the braindump trigger list, though I would submit that 'trigger' is a bad word to use since it means something else in today's day and age... I would replace it with 'catalyst' because then I can be a dork and recommend your Braindump CataList. 🤪
I’m a bit the opposite on that one, because to me, it kind of means the same thing in both ways 😝 like triggering a negative emotion or response vs triggering a thought 🤔 term also isn’t mine though, it comes from David Allen’s book “Getting Things Done” 😛
2:36 What font is that exactly? I'd love to print it out & practice writing. It looks close enough to my usual print-script writing, but more uniformed 😅
That's fair 💜 I find that I feel more connected to my goals if they've been thoroughly thought out before setting them, and planned out before actioning them 💪
A few 😝 haha, I’ve got: - everyday journal (daily use) - yearly collections journal (weekly use) - goals journal (mainly monthly use) - reading journal (when I want to use) Any other journals I have as long-running ones don’t get a new year setup 😊 I did set up a journal for my partner though, so that’s another setup, but it isn’t mine specifically
Ok so in order to prepare for the video came out today I had to come back to this one (along with the live workshop) to finally prepare my Goal Journal. I cannot wait for your course so that some of this can really come together for me. Thank you for all you are doing Jess.
I have been a big fan of your goal setting set ups lovely, and trying to implement this into my life im finding challenging as i can easily be steered of coarse, so for me any teaching from you I would be 100% grateful for 😊👌 xxx
