Lots of hate in the comments, but the Lyriq is one of my favorite luxury EV SUV I've driven. I own an Audi e-tron and tested a variety of EVs from XC40 Recharge to Model Ys, and if only Cadillac could have made the 600e4 Sport earlier last year i might have got that instead.

2:45 so glad you test fort feet under the front seat room THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FOR REAR SEAT COMFORT. Most reviewers show us how much room there is from our knees to the back seat which is USELESS. We don’t stretch out our knees, we stretch out our legs which requires foot space under the front seats. So thank you for that!!!! You would think more reviewers would realize this but surprisingly they don’t. How clueless can they be?????!!!!🤦‍♂️

I totally agree w you. I don’t understand why so many cars don’t have feet room. My rivian is huge on the outside but both rear knee and feet room is extremely limited and the kids complaint sitting behind my tall husband. In our much smaller prior Ioniq 5, it had much more rear knee and feet room and the kids much prefer it over the rivian.

Topher, I say this with all due respect… there’s some cheap plastic on Toyota and Honda as well when it comes to their cup holders. I’m really interested in test driving this after this test drive. This might be a case of people sleeping on a good electric because it isn’t a Tesla and it isn’t a German or Japanese luxury car.

I finally got the one that I ordered, a 2024 all wheel drive ...loaded... Upgraded to each and every available option there was. Got the triple coat white with the Heather Gray interior with the blue pin stripping.It's absolutely breath-taking and the big 22 inch wheels.Charcoal/Black not silver!!! Charcoal/black just gorgeous!! Pin stripping on the exterior to match the beautiful wheels. This car is rock solid. It is the heaviest and the most desirable vehicle I have ever driven. It feels so incredibly safe! I have neon pinstriping on all of the doors which has a customized color wheel setting on the dash, to make those neon pin stripes, any color I'd like them to be. I prefer the neon blue, but I can make them orange or pink or white or yellow or any color I want! The AWD has 500HP, just a ROCKET SHIP when accelerating!🏁🏁 In appearance and performance, this car is a real head turner! I kept my XT4, mostly because they weren't gonna give me anything fair for a trade in, and I drove that the other day after being in this car for a month. I now call the XT4, 'my dog car'...It is SUCH a DOG compared to The Lyriq

I enjoy the look of this. For a very long time I have felt that Cadillac has been very poor in the design department. This is striking and seems like it'll age well. The interior looks very nice as well and feels like it meets the expectation of Cadillacs being luxury like they used to back in the day.

You mention the AKG audio being a disappointment. I received my 2024 XT4 with the new AKG. Wow, I’ve never been so disappointed in a sound system. I had to add an aftermarket subwoofer to get any bass at all.

Owners were having issues with the initial setup. I've used these in person and it's a refreshing change. Hopefully they'll keep the changes/updates coming in such a timely manner.

Not sure why this has a push button in it when every other Ultium platform does away with it. It's an unnecessary step to activate the car. I suspect the "rattle" in the back of the car is because the floor wasn't returned properly to its position, or some other simple reason. Overall this is a sweet ride, no doubt. At the price as quoted, it should be AWD. Actually, love that color. It grows on you because it is intriguing.

I will say that I was extremely unimpressed with the AKG sound system until I tweaked the sound balance and EQ. Set the low bass to like +9, the mid to -2 and the high to +7 then move the balance right behind the front headrest, set sound more to front and max out the surround setting. Like night and day.

Part of it is probably the huge wheels. I'd bet that a base model probably doesn't rattle at all. After owning vehicles with large wheels/low profile tires, I was surprised by how much extra vibration from poor pavement can get through with large wheels. Even having the correct tire pressure can make a huge difference.

Just took possession of a Lyriq Sport 3. I also own a Mach E. Despite both being mid sized SUVs they are very different cars. The Cadillac has a much more refined ride and luxurious interior, the Ford is much sportier in it's handling and doesn't feel so heavy. One the whole the Ford has a better UI on the software. The STUPIDEST thing on the Cadillac is the inability to turn off the fake engine noise like to can on the Ford.

I have been kind of underwhelmed by the Lyriq from the pictures and videos I've seen of it. However, I saw the first one in person here in town a few weeks ago. It's seriously one of, if not the, most impressive looking vehicles on the road right now. Pics/videos definitely do not do this thing justice.

I do like the side profile of this, it kinda has a wagon-esque silhouette which is always great. Gotta love the GM master quality rattles creaks on a $70K+ brand new Cadillac tho 😅 It does look nice & modern tho. This one as tested is only about $10K more than the Audi A4 Allroad Prestige w/ Black Optics I ordered back in December & it for sure does look a good bit more modern but it's nice that it retains some physical switches for climate & stuff. That's the main reason I ordered my A4 Allroad but the B9.5 is definetely starting to show its age for a $60K wagon. The Audi absolutely has significantly better build quality tho. I can't wait for it to arrive

Make sure you set aside a budget for tires on EV's. Especially on 22inch rims. You'll be spending thousands every 2-3 years.

This is such a nice car, liked my test ride overall, right amount of stiffness in the suspension that presents a smooth ride. It gets many things right, and then does bunch of things completely wrong as well. Driver seat, awfully bad. Seat doesnt have any depth, 4-5 inches of my thigh sits outside, legs unable to rest unless I push my seat all the way back. Back center hard and hits the spine. This is one of the worst seats I have ever experienced in a car. Next, poor visibility in the back side of the car, lots of blind spots, wide headrest because of speakers, tiny rear windshield, interiors appear dull and dark in the back, side and rear view mirrors are small again. Whats with the glove box button, seriously 2 levels deep inside the dashboard screen. Not sure what happened here, the engineers suddenly stopped thinking? Few other things, can easily accomodate a frunk but they decided to save some plastic. Tapered screen makes carplay appear smaller in a embedded window. Odd as they could have just left the dashscreen rectangular. I am yet to decide as to me the deal breaker are the seats comfort which simply isnt there.

Level of road noise seems rather high.... can't stand the creaks & rattles on these "luxury" cars (Audi/Mercedes/LR seem to have that too). Some times I wonder whether I want a nice wood/leather appointed rattle box vs. a basic plastic interior with superior build quality (i.e. Honda & Toyota). :-/

i bought this car in 2022, and i have driven lyriq for one and half year, this car didn't even have a working recorder until yesterday!!!! and the most recently update is awful. it provides svr(surround vision recorder), but you have to remove the SD card from the trunk, then read the files using your computer. WTF, it's already 2024, i can view my recorded video on dashboard in my 2012 mercedez, not like this crap!.

I just don't understand why so many manufactures refuse to simply design electric vehicles that look like traditional cars. Maybe they don't really want to sell these things, or maybe this is all some sort of passive aggressive behavior. But damn, just take what you already have that sells well and put an electric powertrain in it, stop trying to reinvent the wheel. These things look weird.

He claims the materials aren’t the nicest, but doesn’t explain which materials are bad. There is nothing wrong with the way *gm* has integrated the camera system and apple CarPlay into the screen. He’s feeling around pushing all of the buttons and switches but can’t find anything negative to say so he doesn’t say anything about the high quality buttons/knobs at all. He then burps out “oh this cup holder button is CHEAP feeling”. Like seriously? Is this Out of Spec 2.0? I just don’t understand why these anti-GM folks keep reviewing *gm* products for the public who are just looking for info. from unbiased sources. The hate for the Cadillac Lyriq is getting ridiculous.

What’s with all the bongs at the beginning. Very annoying. Open the door and more chimes. Open the glovebox another chime. Geez. I hope you can turn the off in the setup menu. The car is definitely designed for a woman. That key fob is way to large to put in your pocket, designed for a purse. Rear wheel drive. Not AWD? At $70k that is a rip off.

It’s amazing to me how people still are trying to make the first set of door handles seem over complicated. A push button actuator that opens the doors for you apparently wasn’t luxurious enough for it to justify all of the many extra steps and hard work it added. It’s weird how he complains about cheapness and plastic but couldn’t point to any of it.
