Should have went with 140mm rotors, handlebar, carbon crankset, tpu is lighter. I think I'm going to buy the bottom their of this bike. I already have a spare ultegra groupset and carbon crankset. I just need some new wheels. The lightest wheels I've found that are cheap and good is the farsports hyper. I have a set of 50's that weighs 1218g w/ tape. I have those on a Pinarello F5 that i got the weight to 6.9 without and integrated handlebar. This bike would be much easier to bring the weight down.
The bar and stem are the next but be warned that in some cases with a load of steerer spacers the best bet is to keep the stem and replace the bars as other stems are not 100 per cent designed for the delta steerer.
That’s what I was thinking too but because I occasionally use TT aero clamp on bars I’m gonna stick with the alloy handlebars instead of going carbon. There is definitely a weight saving though if I change my mind.
It’s bright, especially the front forks. My cheap camera struggles to pick up the vibrancy of the colour. My last bike was all black so fancied a change.
It’s a fun bike to ride and I’ve set loads of PRs on it. I feel like I can get nice and aero on the smaller frame and the handlebars aren’t too wide. Also the SuperSix performed well in Tour Magazine’s aero test with fairly modest wheels. It’s a great bike but the wheel upgrade is essential to get the most out of it.
I’m 5’9, similar inseam. Bike fit suggested 51 or 54 frame would be ok for me, both have enough adjustability to get me comfortable. 51 bike has slightly shorter crank length. Compare your current bike with both sizes on Geometry Geeks website for an indication of size.
Most manufacturer claimed weights are quoted without pedals so makes it easier for anyone to compare against another bike option. Personally I was aiming for under 8kg with pedals attached to match the weight of my old rim brake Cervelo. It’s now at 7.91kg with Ultegra pedals.
