Even with EXTREMELY BIASED video, the Ridgeline still gets love over the Colorado. Ridgeline all day!

For me it's the Ridgeline!Tailgate accessibility height and swing door, built in storage trunk, factory composite bed, flat floor in second row, it's glued to the pavement not as bouncy, and I've been getting 26mpg on the highway with the ridgeline. Payload is identical to every midsize truck out there. Plus the remote start and one touch all windows go down when it's hot. Maybe if the Colorado came with a plow for 50 grand then I would pick the Colorado

Ridgeline is a "non-truck" until you want to put some drywall in the bed, which I do, then all of the sudden the non-truck becomes more useful as a truck. 4x8 sheet goods lay flat in the bed of the Ridgeline, not the Taco, Colorado or Frontier. The Maverick, another "non-truck", with yet a smaller bed, has a creative provision for this also.

I don't think opinions have changed that much on the Ridgeline. It's just that the Maverick is what people expected in a FWD-based unibody truck all along. Cheaper, significantly better economy, and still looks like a truck. People are more willing to give up towing and off road ability for that. Few truck buyers care much if their truck drives more like a minivan than a pickup. The Ridgeline filled a niche, the Maverick created (or arguably recreated) a whole new market.

I bought a brand new 2018 Colorado Z71. I loved it but ended up selling it for 4K more than I paid during the crazy car market in 2021. Bought a brand new 2023 Honda Ridgeline last year for my wife. Having owned both which would I choose? I would definitely choose the Ridgeline. If you are not planning on going off road the Ridgeline offers so much more as a daily driver. More rear leg room, automatic sliding rear window, better ride quality, heated windshield, Honda safety sense, flexible tail gate, and bed storage are just a few of the features it has over the Colorado. Most of all a proven naturally aspirated V6 and Honda quality. As far as towing the Colorado wins but not too many people are going to do significant towing with a midsize truck. I love the looks of the Colorado and it is a true truck but for me the Ridgeline is the more versatile and reliable vehicle.

Ironic about the Maverick. I really don't understand why the Ridgeline is not more popular than it is when the Maverick is very popular. It's larger, been around longer, so it's more reliable, it has a bigger engine but you still get MPG in the high 20's on the highway, and it's more American made. It's actually the most American made vehicle in the segment. The draw with the Maverick was that it was cheaper, but it's seems most people get trims in the upper 30's anyway. You can get a Ridgeline sport for that much.

@elche1976
@elche1976 2 месяца назад
Another con for the Ridgeline. Is if you have the bed full and get a flat. You have to unload the bed just to get to the spare and then reload it when done. That's due to the location of the spare being in the storage compartment. In other trucks, just jack the truck and change. How often will it happen, 🤷🏻‍♂️, but it'll be a big deal when it happens.
@modmatt1
@modmatt1 Месяц назад
@@elche1976 True. Also the spare in the Ridgeline is not a "full sized" spare, so if you are towing or offroading (beach) and need to switch out the flat, perhaps not the best scenario? As for the step, I think that in the center by the license, there is a "step area' in which to get in if needed.

Wake up and grab some coffee lol, the 2.7 has about 35 more horsepower and a MONSTROUS 160 more foot pounds of torque that comes on 1500RPM earlier in normal driving. Ya know its odd because the only truck/car that races around and tries to challenge my 24 Canyon has been a Ridgeline and a Passport. Everyone that has a Honda feels the need to justify their purchase by driving like it's a souped up ricer civic. Lol. I guess back in the day they were all yelling YO V-TECH and their all grown up now! That racer boy connotation and overall horrible performance is the main reason i would never buy a Honda. Ridgeline is a car through and through. Ride, engine, torque curve, etc. The Colorado is a mid size towing beast with more power than you will ever need. Meanwhile I guess ill continue to get thumbs up from honda drivers when their mouth falls open and they actually see how quick the Canyon or Colorado runs away from the silly earth dreams v6. Maybe I reccomend for my grandma.. other than that no comparison besides maybe footprint

@@thewireman134 haha. Not what I meant. What I meant was for the extra hp and torque, it should be way faster than the Ridgeline but it’s not. My 24 Trailsport stays neck in neck with my buddies Colorado. My 21 Ridgeline could not. Don’t know how this is but they both have the same tranny but the 24 model has a lot more jump to it. I’m told Honda has the newer trannies better software tuned. On Sport mode with traction off the Colorado can’t shake me off. My initial comment was more about the poster mocking the Ridge when it’s not the case. When I drive the Colorado it feels way more powerful but somehow it’s not yet the numbers are clearly showing it should. The Ridge is way more behaved but somehow keeps up no problem.
