There are a lot on 1500 ZR2s being listed as $5-7k off MSRP right now. There is a lot of inventory right now, so easier to get a deal. Motor, transmission, and suspension is hard to beat.

@@rsbreeze yea your area is much different than here in North Idaho. Within 50 miles there were 2 Silverado zr2s available. The biggest Ram dealer in the state has 3 in transit and they are all 83k. Checked my home city in California and they didn’t even have a single Zr2 available.

They charging over 9k for the Bison and no 35s tires. Even the Colorado Bison brings 35s. This makes no sense GM. Anyways, great review JB!

Bought the regular ZR2 with the 3.0 Duramax. Could not justify the expense of the Bison package. Plus I like the plain ZR2 a little better. They our definitely offering deals well below the MSRP in Houston.

The bison package really is niche. The standard ZR2 in any of these trucks is plenty for off roading.

I was just looking at 3/4to zr2. It’s basically the same price maybe a tad cheaper. For $8000 I am pretty sure I could buy steel bumpers and skid plates and a lot more.

The dealer I deal with has a 2023 ZR2 with the 6.2 for $13,000 off MSRP. It was a Bristol race truck so it was either used for something at the Fall NASCAR race or it was on display. It’s still a new, never titled truck though. Anyways I’d definitely pick the regular ZR2.

Honestly it depends on what you plan on doing with the truck…I love off-roading in extreme conditions and I’d rather get a relatively “basic” 5.3L that I’m going to long travel, etc than buy something that’s factory setup for dirt fire road driving. The bison does however come with American Expedition Vehicle bumpers that ARE DOT approved for impact ratings

I cant believe GM uses the DFM system, it was a disaster for soo many customers and no support. I am happy I chose the HD options in a truck and a manual transmission in my ss camaro so I can bypass that terrrible design for their great engines.
